Product Usage Instructions:

Install OBDII App on your Phone or Pad:

  1. Download an OBD II app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. We recommend using the OBD AUTO DOCTOR app.

Plug iCar Pro BLE4.0 adapter to DLC (OBDII Diagnostic Link Connector):

The OBDII DLC is usually located under the instrument panel (Dash) on the driver’s side. For more information about DLC, please visit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_link_connector_(automotive)

Turn vehicle ignition to Key On, Engine Off position:

Check the status of the LED indicators on the iCar Pro BLE4.0 adapter:

  • RED: Power indicator. Light will be on.
  • GREEN: OBD indicator. Blinks once.
  • BLUE: Bluetooth indicator. Off

The iCar Pro BLE4.0 adapter will automatically wake up and enter Super Power Saving mode. You can leave the iCar Pro in the OBD Socket without unplugging and plugging it again. The power consumption is low, around 2.7mA.

How to pair iCar Pro BLE 4.0 to your device (using OBD Auto Doctor):

Pair iCar Pro BLE4.0 to iOS device:

  1. Step 1: Enable Bluetooth on your iPhone.

    • IMPORTANT NOTE: If you can’t see the Bluetooth device name in your iPhone, don’t worry. This device only requires configuring the Bluetooth device name in the OBD app settings.

    • Just enable the Bluetooth button on your iOS device and continue to the OBD app settings in step 2.

    • Only iOS supported Bluetooth profiles can show the device name.
      Bluetooth LE 4.0 technology is not applicable for the supported Bluetooth profiles from iOS. So, you cannot find the iCar Pro BLE4.0 Bluetooth device name.

  2. Step 2: Configure connectivity settings on the OBD Auto Doctor:

    • Run the OBD Auto Doctor app.

    • Tap the Extras button on the Status page.

    • Tap Connectivity in the settings menu to select connection type.

    • Select adapter type as Bluetooth.

    • Select device as Vgate.

    • Go back to the Status page and click Start connect.

    • The app will initialize the adapter and connect to the vehicle.
      The Bluetooth indicator LED (BLUE) and OBD data indicator (GREEN) will keep blinking while the system is connecting. It may take about 30 seconds to connect.

    • The connection is successful when all LED indicators are lit while syncing data from the vehicle.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTE: Different OBD II apps may have different Bluetooth setup steps. Please follow the steps provided by the app to configure the Bluetooth connection.

Plug iCar Pro BLE4.0 adapter to DLC (OBDII Diagnostic Link Connector)

Off Position

Automatically OBD device wake up and Super Power Saving on iCar Pro series

  •  Allow the user to leave the iCar Pro in OBD Socket without unplug and plug operation.Supper low power consumption is low to “2.7ma” level.
  • Automatically wake up function to power on iCar Pro every me when you are start with key on engine off (KOEO) position. The device wake-up speed is fast to “ms” level . Allow user to start the diagnosc operation more quickly.

Troubleshooting note:

No LED lighting?

  • Please check blown fuses on the vehicle
  • The adapter is improperly installed. Please remove it from DLC port and plug it again.

Pair iCar Pro BLE4.0 to iOS device

Step 1:
Enable Bluetooth on your iPhone .
Get ready to pair with device .

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Can not see Bluetooth device name in iPhone?

Don’t worry. This device only require to configure Bluetooth device name in the OBD app setting. Just enable Bluetooth button on the iOS device and continue to the OBD app setting in step2
ONLY iOS supported Bluetooth profiles can show device name. Bluetooth LE 4.0 technology isn’t apply for the supported Bluetooth profiles from iOS.So user can not find iCar Pro BLE4.0 Bluetooth device name.

Step 2: Configure connectivity setting on the OBD Auto Doctor

  • Run OBD Auto Doctor app

Pair iCar Pro BLE4.0 to Android device

  • Enable Bluetooth on your Android Phone or Pad.

  • Select device name as“Android-Vlink” to pair. Enter password “1234 “
  • Get Paired

Car Pro BLE4.0 supports the standard OBDIl parameters (PIDs) as defined in SAE J1979 AUG2014(OBD AUTO DOCTOR app) .The actual list of available parameters is vehicle-specific. Your vehicle must have those sensors to work with app.Different OBDII app might support different list of parameters and sensors.

  • P- Powertrain (Engine&Transmission/Gearbox)
  • 0-Generic OBD Code

  • 2& 3 –Fault description: Throttle Position Sensor(TPS) /Switch A Circuit High Input
    ( When the PCM sees a voltage that is higher than the normal upper limit, P0123 will set) .User can internet the OBD Code meaning and know the possible causes)
