Please read the instruction manual and the safety instructions carefully before using the device for the first time.
Keep this instruction manual together with the device for later use. If other people use this device, provide them with this instruction manual. If you sell the device, the instruction manual is part of the device and must be supplied with it.
DÖRR is not liable for damage caused by improper use or failure to observe the instruction manual and safety instructions.
In the event of damage caused by improper handling or by external influence, the guarantee or warranty becomes void. Manipulation, structural alteration of the product, as well as opening of the housing by the user or unauthorized third parties, is considered improper handling.

SAFETY HINTS

  • Do not look directly into the LED and do not point the light beam directly into the eyes of people or animals! ATTENTION: Looking into the LEDs for a long time can cause irreversible retinal damage to the eye.

  • Do not point the light at vehicles or aircraft!

  • The charger supplied is only designed to charge the built-in batteries and not to operate the light. Do not leave the light unattended during charging. After charging, disconnect the light from the power supply.

  • Switch off the light after use.

  • Do not immerse or throw the light into the water. Do not throw the light into a fire – risk of explosion!

  • If the light is not used for a longer period of time, charge the battery to approx. 60% to avoid deep discharge of the battery.

  • Built-in batteries and LEDs cannot be replaced.

  • Protect the device from rain, moisture, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures.

  • Do not use or touch the device with wet hands.

  • Protect the device from shocks. Do not use the device if it has been dropped. In this case, have it checked by a qualified electrician before switching the device on again.

  • If the device is defective or damaged, do not attempt to disassemble or repair it yourself – the risk of electric shock! Please contact your specialist dealer.

  • Persons with physical or cognitive disabilities should operate the device only under guidance and supervision.

  • Persons with a pacemaker, defibrillator or other electrical implants should keep a minimum distance of 30 cm, as the device generates magnetic fields.

  • There is a risk of pinching when unfolding and folding. Watch your fingers!

  • The device is not a toy! Keep the device, accessories, and packing materials away from children and pets to prevent accidents and suffocation.

  • Protect the device from dirt. Do not clean the device with petrol or harsh cleaning agents. We recommend a lint-free, slightly damp microfibre cloth to clean the outer
    components of the device. Before cleaning, switch off the device and disconnect the power supply.

  • Store the device in a dust-free, dry, cool place.

  • Please dispose of the device when it is defective or no longer intended for use in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. If you
    have any questions, please contact the local authorities responsible for disposal.

COMMISSIONING

04.1 Charging the built-in batteries
Before using the work light for the first time, fully charge the built-in Li- Ion batteries using the charger (08) supplied:
Open the rubber cover (03). The connection socket (04) for the supplied charger is underneath it. Connect the charger (08) to the connection socket (04) and to a power supply socket. During the charging process, the LEDs to indicate charging and capacity (05) flash blue.
After approx. 3 hours, the built-in Li-ion batteries of the work light are fully charged and all 4 LEDs of the charging and capacity indicator (05) show a solid blue light. Remove the charger (08) and disconnect from the power supply. Close the rubber cover (03).

ATTENTION!
Do not leave the light unattended during charging. After charging, disconnect the lamp from the power supply. Only use the charger supplied to charge the lamp.

OPERATION

05.1 Switching the work light on/off, adjusting the brightness
To switch on the light, press the on/off button (06) once. The LEDs light up with 30% brightness.
For 100% brightness, soon after switching on (within max. 5 seconds) press the on/off button (06) a second time, and a third time to switch it off.
If the lamp is in a light mode for more than 5 seconds, the lamp can be switched off directly by pressing the on/off button (06) once.
After each use, switch off the lamp by pressing the on/off button (06).
05.2 LED charging and capacity indicator
As soon as you have switched on the work light with the on/off button, the LEDs of the charging and capacity indicator (05) light up, indicating the remaining battery energy as follows:

1 blue LED 25%
2 blue LEDs 50%
3 blue LEDs 75%
4 blue LEDs 100%

05.3 Rotatable LED cover
The LED tube is fitted with a rotatable LED cover. This cover is divided into 3 areas with different light shapers:

  1. Clear area:……………………………………… for full light output
  2. Corrugated area: ……………………………..for glare-free light
  3. Milky area: ……………………………………………..for soft, diffuse light

MOUNTING

The Vario XL-2000 work light can be clamped under the bonnet or under the boot lid, for example. The rubberized clamp brackets (01) can be rotated 360°. The extension length is 1.20 m to 2.00 m.

For the complete extension to 2.20 m, press the release buttons (02) on both clamp brackets (01) and open the clamp bracket outwards.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Do not clean the unit with petrol or harsh cleaning agents. We recommend using a lint-free, slightly damp microfibre cloth to clean the outer components of the unit. Disconnect from the power supply before cleaning! Store the unit in a dust-free, dry, cool place. The unit is not a toy – keep it out of reach of children! Keep the unit away from pets.

DISPOSAL, CE MARKING

10.1 BATTERY DISPOSAL
Batteries and rechargeable batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed- out waste bin. This symbol indicates that empty batteries or rechargeable batteries that can no longer be recharged must not be disposed of in the household waste. Old batteries may contain harmful substances that can cause damage to health and the environment. As the end-user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries (Battery Act §11 Act on the Reorganisation of Waste Product Responsibility for Batteries and Accumulators). You can return batteries free of charge after use at the point of sale or in your immediate vicinity (e.g. at municipal collection points or in shops). You can also return batteries to the seller by post.
10.2 WEEE NOTICE
The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive, which came into force as European law on 13 February 2003, led to a comprehensive change in the disposal of discarded electrical equipment. The primary purpose of this directive is to prevent e-waste while promoting reuse, recycling, and other forms of reprocessing in order to reduce waste. The WEEE logo (waste bin) shown on the product and on the packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with normal household waste. You are responsible for delivering all discarded electrical and electronic equipment to appropriate collection points. The separate collection and sensible recycling of e-waste help to use natural resources more sparingly. Furthermore, the recycling of e-waste contributes to preserving our environment and also people’s health. Further information on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment, recycling, and collection points can be obtained from local authorities, waste disposal companies, specialist retailers, and the manufacturer of the device.
