INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
CAUTION: Do not smoke inside the cab or expose the product to direct
flames. Product is FLAMMABLE.
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing
the windshield. The installation is best done when the temperature is 70°F or
warmer. The temperature affects the adhesive Velcro. If conditions prevent
installing in warmer weather it helps to store the adhesive Velcro at room
temperature prior to installation.
- Carefully open the carton and unroll the windshield onto a clean flat surface that is clean and free of dirt and debris to avoid scratching or soiling the clear vinyl.
- Check over the parts included in the carton with the parts list shown below:
- Velcro hook strip 2 each 5” long
- Velcro hook strip 2 each 6” long
- Velcro hook strip 2 each 8” long
- Velcro hook strip 2 each 10” long
- Velcro hook strip 1 each 13” long
- Velcro hook strip 1 each 34” long
- Windshield 1 each
- Place the windshield over the front of the vehicle. Locate the Velcro tab sewn into the top of the windshield, and center it on the top tube of the roll cage. Clean the tube and apply the 34” adhesive Velcro strip provided to the back of the top tube at the appropriate location, then attach the sewn-in Velcro tab to the adhesive Velcro strip. See fig. 1.
- Pull the windshield down and locate the sewn-in Velcro tab at the bottom of the windshield; apply the 13” adhesive Velcro strip to the underside of the top tube of the front brush guard and attach the sewn-in Velcro tab to it as illustrated in fig. 1. Again, be sure to clean the surface you will be applying the adhesive Velcro to beforehand.
- Clean the front downtubes and apply the remaining adhesive Velcro strips to the front of the roll cage as shown in fig. 1. The strips should be applied to the outboard side of the tubing to ensure proper tightness across the clear vinyl. Attach both sides using moderate tension to ensure proper tightness. Check for fit and centering and adjust if required.
Cleaning and Storage Recommendations
- Before removing the windshield for storage, make sure it is clean and dry, to prevent soiling the textile and scratching the clear vinyl. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Let the windshield dry thoroughly before attempting to roll for storage.
- It is important that the windshield be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause undesirable creasing of both the windshield textile and the clear vinyl. Carefully roll up the product similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory. Begin rolling the windshield into a roll approximately 8” in diameter. Put the rolled windshield back into the carton for storage at normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the windshield to either extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing.
- A special cleaner/conditioner is available from Falcon Ridge that will greatly increase the service life of the windshield. If needed, additional hook and loop sets are available, as well as other spare parts and hardware. Contact Falcon Ridge for information.
- Transporting or trailering your UTV with the windshield installed is not generally recommended. It is best to remove the enclosure before transporting your UTV.
