WalkingBelt is used as support for gait training with children with impaired strength and stability. WalkingBelt provides support around the torso and is held in place with a padded leg harness. WalkingBelt has two padded shoulder straps, which are held by the caregiver to provide additional support and stability during gait training. It is not to be used as an assistive device for lifting. WalkingBelt has a soft polyester lining that feels comfortable against the skin. The material has an anti-slip function.

Applying WalkingBelt
Place WalkingBelt around the user’s waist and place the arms through the shoulder straps. Fasten and tighten the strap.
Adjust the shoulder straps to the appropriate length. The caregiver should keep her/his arms relatively straight during gait training.
Place the leg harness under the user, fasten and tighten. The leg harness should be tight enough to provide good support, but not so tight that it causes discomfort.
It may be necessary to tighten the waist strap and leg harness once the user has risen to a standing position.
Using WalkingBelt
Adjust the length of the shoulder straps to enable a comfortable working stance for the caregiver and good support for the child.
Stay close to the child to give support and assurance. Be attentive to the child’s signals. Discontinue training at the least sign of discomfort.
Do not use the WalkingBelt as an assistive device for lifting!
Removing WalkingBelt
Pull down the shoulder straps. Disconnect the clasps on the leg harness and waist strap. Remove the belt.
