Digital Otoscope

Device Setup (EZ Mode)

  1. Download the MOBI Smart App from the App Store or Google Play Store.
    a. After installing the app, sign up/login to MOBI Smart.

  2. Initiate Setup/Link Mode by holding the power button for 10 seconds until the LED indicators blink slowly, then release.

  3. Confirm you’ve connected your smartphone to your home Wi-Fi signal with a 2.4GHz connection.
    a. Make sure to have your Wi-Fi password before proceeding.

  4. On the MOBI Smart App, tap Add device, then select MOBI E.N.T. Otoscope.

  5. Follow the setup steps outlined in the MOBI Smart App.

  6. Android Users – your screen may display a notice that reads “mobile phone is connected to 5 GHz Wi-Fi.” If you are connected to a 2.4 GHz Network, please ignore this prompt and tap “Carry On.”

  7. After successfully connecting, edit your device name for easier management or change it later.
    a. EZ mode only functions while connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network used during setup.

To use the device in EZ Mode:

  1. Power on the otoscope and open the MOBI Smart App.
  2. On the homepage, tap the otoscope in your device list, then tap the blue button to view the camera feed.

Note: The otoscope includes a second operation method called AP Mode. It can provide a higher picture quality for the device and grant users the ability to use the otoscope outside their home network.

Device Setup in AP Mode (Direct Hotspot HD Connection)

  1. After setting up the device in EZ mode, ensure your otoscope is powered on.

  2. On the otoscope’s main screen, tap the settings ( ) icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Once on the settings page, find Advanced Settings and tap on AP Mode.

  4. Create a custom 8-digit password and tap Start AP Mode.

  5. Tap Connect to be redirected to the main Wi-Fi settings on your phone.

  6. Select the Wi-Fi signal that reads SL-MOBI WiFi-XXXX, then returns to the app.
    a. While connected in AP Mode, the otoscope temporarily disconnects your smartphone from your home’s Wi-Fi network.
    b. iOS Users – your screen may display a notice that reads “The Wi-Fi Network…[is] not connected.” Ignore this prompt and tap “Keep Trying Wi-Fi.”

  7. If your app displays a black screen, allow a few seconds for the otoscope to connect in AP mode.

To use the device in AP Mode:

  1. Power on/ensure your otoscope is powered on. Then open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings.
  2. Ensure you are connected to the Wi-Fi signal that reads SL-MOBI WiFi-XXXX.
  3. Open the MOBI Smart app, and in your list of available devices, tap open your otoscope.
  4. Powering the otoscope off will reconnect your smartphone to its default Wi-Fi signal.
