FIG. 1
APPLICATIONS
The product can be used for a wide range of applications:
- Antifreeze protection of pipes, external routing
- Antifreeze protection of pipes, internal routing
- Water meter
- Caravan
- Greenhouse
- Compost
ASSEMBLY
INSTALLATION
Pay attention to the following before installation
- The maximum connected length for internal routing is 60 m and for external routing 100 m.
- The maximum fuse is 10 A.
- The maximum permitted pressure for installation in water pipes is 8 bar.
- The heating cable is intended for temporary installations.
- The heating cable should always be connected via a residual current device.
- The heating cable should only be covered with material that can withstand at least + 65°.
- The rubber cable cannot be replaced – if damaged, discard the complete heating cable.
Installing external antifreeze protection
Fasten the cable with electrical tape to the pipe or part you want to protect
from freezing. Always insulate the pipe or part to retain the heat. If the
cable is too long, or to increase the effect, you can also wind the cable
around the pipe or part in a spiral. Wind the cable around water meters or
large pipe fittings. The cable can be crossed over itself, neither the cable
nor the part will overheat.
Installing internal antifreeze protection
- When the heating cable is connected it always produces some effect, and this always increases the temperature of the water. Internal routing produces much more of an effect than external routing. The operating temperature, and therefore the water temperature, varies depending on the routing, insulation thickness, and ambient temperature.
- For permanent use, and especially for longer lengths, the cable should be controlled via a thermostat.
- For installation in a water pipe, you need a suitable watertight grommet. The grommet is fitted on the heating cable. The junction should be outside the water pipe.
Installation in water pipe
- Fit a T-coupling on the water pipe.
- Fit the supplementary unit.
- Push in the heating cable and screw tight.
- The product consists of a self-limiting heating cable primarily intended for antifreeze protection of water and drain pipes.
