Introduction
Product description
Encode and modulate your local HDMI source into an RF signal, compatible with
the distribution via coaxial networks. The HDMI video signal gets MPEG-4
compressed and can be received by TV sets with an integrated MPEG-4 compatible
STB. At the output are all common terrestrial and cable TV modulation
supported and can be selected at the device without any additional effort.
- 1 HDMI input supporting all resolutions up to 1080p60
- 1 RF loop through input to insert existing DVB-C/T signals
- MPEG-4 video compression
- Switchable output modulation (DVB-C, DVB-T, DTMB, and ATSC-T/C)

First use:
- Connect the grounding cable to the dedicated grounding connection (2)
- Push the power supply to the power supply socket of OE01 (3)
- Plug the power supply into the 230V socket
- Connect the HDMI output of your video source with the HDMI input (4)
- Set the desired output channel via the rotary-push button (5)
- Insert the Encoder Modulator into your distribution network by using the RF output (7)
- Existing terrestrial oder cable TV channels can be combined via the RF Bypass (6)
Indication:
All information about the Encoder Modulator is shown in the integrated Display
(1)
The Power-Led indicates the availability of the DC power (permanently glowing)
Software settings
All settings are done via the rotary-push button:
-
Push the button for 2s to enter the basic configuration.
-
Push the button to confirm your selections.
-
When rotating the button you scroll through the different screens and parameters.
Important remark: At the end of the programming process, to save the
recent changes, the menu point “Save & Exit” has to be selected.
Before entering the menu, the modulator already gives you on the start screen
the most important parameters of the modulator :
- The first row indicates if an HDMI signal is detected and which resolution. If there is no resolution shown, the HDMI signal is not detected by the Encoder Modulator.
- The second row shows the selected output modulation and output frequency.
Basic configuration
In this part, we will make the basic configuration to start using the HDMI Encoder Modulator. In most cases, this will be sufficient to configure the product. Only in special cases, where detailed settings have to be set, you will have to use the advanced configuration. See the next paragraph. The best way to configure the product is to follow the menu step by step. Some of the settings have an effect on one or more of the following settings. This means, for instance, that step 1 (Country) will cancel step 2 (Output type). If you have set for instance the output type to ATSC-T and then you go back to the country and configure it to be France, ATSC-T will be changed into DVB-T (as ATSC is not supported in France).
Advanced configuration
In this part, we will explain the advanced configuration of the HDMI Encoder Modulator. This will however not be needed in most installations. The advanced configuration includes the following parameters:
Remark 1: If you are not able to reach for instance 18.000kbps, you will
need to increase the data rate of the output channel by changing the “RF
Output” settings (set constellation to 64QAM, guard interval to 1/32, and/or
code rate to 7/8).
Remark 2: Recent changes will be activated and stored after “Save &
Exit”.
