GAS DETECTOR FOR METHANE BUTANE WHITE
User Manu al
The GA-10 is a gas detector meant to discover cases of gas leaks in the first
phase. If gas is detected, the GA-10 will start emitting a loud alarm tone of
at least 85dB (A). This detector detects both methane (natural gas), as well
as butane. It’s advisable to test the gas detector weekly by using the test
button. Save this manual in a secure location, like the fuse box cabinet.
RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION LOCATIONS FOR THE GA-10:
Install the detector at least 1.5 meters away from a combustion source (e.g.
cooker, boiler, etc). The installation height of this detector depends on the
type of gas to be detected; you should therefore first establish which gas is
being used.
Methane (natural gas) is lighter than air and therefore will rise. The
detector should be installed Approx. 15-30 cm from the ceiling and 50 cm from
the top of a ridge roof. The etector should be installed above the highest
window or door opening in the room. Butane is heavier then air and therefore
will flow to the ground. The detector should be installed Approx. 15-30 cm
from the floor.
AVOID THE FOLLOWING LOCATION INSTALLATIONSit :
- Keep away at least 1.5 meters from any cooking apparatus.
- Do not place near a fan or near the exhaust of an airconditioner or heater.
- Do not place in the nook of an A-shaped ceiling.
- Do not place in rooms where the temperature can reach below 5°C or beyond 50°C.
- Do not paint the gas detector and do not cover it in any way,
INSTALLATION INFORMATION:
Install the ceiling plate on a location fitting the description above using plugs and screws. Remove the plastic foil from the battery, plug it in the cable located inside the battery compartment and place it firmly inside the compartment. Once a battery is placed, you should be able to place the detector on the ceiling plate and rotate it easily. Now plug in the dapter using the port on the side of the gas detector and plug it into a power outlet. Test the detector first by holding the “Test”-key for 2 seconds. The GREEN LED will turn on to show the detector is operational.
USE, TESTING, AND MAINTENANCE:
USE:
The gas detector is operational if the 9-volt battery is placed and the GA-10
is connected by an adapter. You can only place the detector on the ceiling
plate if the 9-volt battery is installed. If the detector is operational the
red LED will blink. After calibration, it will turn green.
Once the gas is detected, the alarm will go off. A loud beep will sound and
the red LED will blink continuously. Once the gas dissipates, the alarm will
stop automatically.
Testing:
By pressing the test key on the GA-10, the alarm can be tested to ensure it is
still operational. Hold the key for at least 2 seconds. Operation is correct
if the red LED blinks and the tone is audible. Preferably check the detector
weekly. During the alarm state, the GA-10 will generate a tone of at least
85dB(A) sound pressure.
Hush function:
With this function, the alarm will be deactivated for 5 minutes. This function
can be activated by pressing the button once, shortly. The red LED will blink
to indicate the alarm s silence. After 5 minutes, the blinking will stop and
the alarm will be reactivated
ATTENTION:
- If there is any doubt over the cause of an alarm, then assume the alarm is caused by a gas leak and evacuate the premises as soon as possible.
- Keep the gas detector away from small children.
- During renovations, protect the gas detector against dust. It will lose its functionality if covered by dust.
Maintenance:
The GA-10 can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.
ENVIRONMENT:
Do not throw away used batteries, but recycle them using your local chemical
depot. Product may not be thrown out as normal waste, but must be recycled as
electrical waste.
