SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: Read these instructions carefully before use, and save them for future reference. Save the original packaging if possible -it is the best way to protect the product when it is not in use. These instructions should be enclosed with the product if it is sold or passed on.

  • Only intended for outdoor use.
  • The product can only be used for heating objects in rooms or on terraces, and only in accordance with these instructions. All other use, for example, drying washing by hanging it on the product, is to be considered incorrect use and is not permitted. Always respect the minimum of free space permitted around the product.
  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate. Only connect the product to an earthed power point that complies with the rules and regulations for the place in question and which is protected with an RCD with a tripping current of 30 mA.
  • Only use the product as it is intended to be used -for the heating of terraces, etc. The product must not be used to dry textiles, for commercial purposes, or for heating buildings, greenhouses, or stables, etc.
  • Handle the product with care and do not subject it to knocks and blows.
  • Do not use an extension cord or power strip unless absolutely necessary. If an extension cord or power strip is used the cross-sectional area of the wires and the rated current must be dimensioned for the power supply to the product. If an extension cord is used on a reel, pull out the full length of the cord.
  • The product is intended for permanent installation on a ceiling, not for portable use.
  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voitage on the type plate and that the power point is earthed.
  • Pull out the plug when the product is not in use.
  • Switch off the product and pull out the plug before cleaning and/or maintenance.
  • Do not pull the power cord to pull out the plug.
  • Never use an extension cord for fire risk.
  • Place the power cord so it cannot be exposed to damage or stress, severe bending, sharp edges, or contact with hot surfaces.
  • The product’s openings must not be covered.
  • Do not cover the product.
  • Make sure that wind or other

The product is not intended to be controlled by an external voltage regulator, Such as a dimmer or speed controller -the risk of material damage if these are connected to the product.
  • Keep the product under careful supervision when it is used by, or near children or persons with functional disorders.
  • Switch off the product, pull out the plug and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before moving the product.
  • Do not use the product in rooms where there are flammable substances (petrol, solvent, spray cans, etc.) or flammable materials (wood, paper, etc.). Keep such substances and materials away from the product -fire risk.
  • Never poke your fingers or any objects into the inlet or outlet openings risk of electric shock, fire, and/or personal injury.
  • Do not use the product if the power cord or plug is damaged, if it is not working properly after it has been dropped, or if the product is damaged in any other way.

  • Do not dismantle the product or attempt to repair it.
  • Repairs carried out by unauthorized or unqualified personnel will invalidate the warranty. The manufacturer cannot accept liability for any damage resulting from unauthorised repairs or modifications.
  • This product can be used by children from 8 years of age and by persons with physical, sensorial or mental disabilities, or persons who lack experience or knowledge if they are supervised or receive instructions concerning the safe use of the product and understand the risks involved.
  • Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the product.
  • Do not allow children to clean or maintain the product without supervision.

  • The product is powerful and emits a lot of heat. For this reason do not expose animals or people, especially infants, older or sensitive persons, to the direct thermal radiation from the product

  • Pull out the plug when the product is not in use. Do not pull the power cord to pull out the plug.
  • For safety reasons, the product must be connected to a power point with a residual current device that has a maximum tripping current of 30 MA.
  • Do not store gas cylinders or flammable liquids, such as paint or petrol, near the product. Do not use the product in an explosive environment, e.g. near flammable liquids, gas cylinders, sSpray cans etc. risk of fire or explosion.

WARNING

  • Do not cover the product- risk of overheating.
  • The product does not have a thermostat. Do not use the product unsupervised in rooms where there are persons who cannot leave the room without assistance.
  • Some parts of the product get very hot-risk of burn injuries. Keep the product under careful supervision when it is used by, or near children or persons with functional disorders. Do not touch the product with bare hands or other bare skin during use – switch off the product and allow it to cool for 15 minutes before touching it.

INSTALLATION

WARNING: The product must only be mounted on a surface of non-flammable material.

  • Remove all the packaging material and check that no parts are missing or damaged.
  • Fit the mounting bracket on the product by first aligning the round parts of the bracket between the attachment plates on the IR heater casing. Now fit the large screws through the holes in the attachment plates and the mounting bracket and screw tight with flat washers and nuts.
  • The surface should be vibration-free, vertical and sufficiently stable to safely support the weight of the product. The supplied fasteners for the wall bracket are intended for brick and concrete walls. Fasteners must be bought separately for other wall materials.

IMPORTANT:

  • Check that the mounting distance is correct before fitting the wall bracket

    • see SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

ATTACHMENT

  1. Fasten the mounting bracket horizontally on the wall with four screws.
  2. Adjust the product to the required angle. There are three positions: horizontal (radiation direction straight forward), down at slight angle (radiation direction towards far end of the floor) and down at a steep angle (radiation directly to the nearby floor). Lock the product at the required angle by screwing in the small screws (X) in the mounting bracket and the attachment plates in the product casing.
  3. Do a final check and if necessary re­tighten all the screw unions and check that the product is mounted firmly.
  4. The product is now ready to use.

USE

  • Keep the product under careful supervision for the first 15 minutes after it has been started for the first time, or after prolonged storage, to check that it is working properly.
  • Always check before using that:
    • The product is undamaged.
    • The product is firmly in place (mechanical stress or vibrations as a result of wind or precipitation can in time cause the fasteners to come loose).
    • No foreign objects, tarpaulins, parasols etc. are within the safe distance.
    • The PowerPoint used has the correct voltage, is earthed, and has a residual current device.

SWITCHING ON THE HEAT

  1. Plug the plug into a PowerPoint.
  2. Pull the pull switch to start the heating.
  3. Pull the pull switch again to switch it off.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING

WARNING!

  • Switch off the product and allow it to cool before maintenance or moving the product. Pull out the plug from the power point when the product is not in use.
  • Do not expose the product, power cord or plug to water or any other liquid -risk of electric shock.
  • Wipe the product with a clean, non­fluffing cloth, or brush it clean with a soft brush. Never use abrasive detergent, hard brushes, strong chemicals or flammable detergents such as benzene, alcohol, or thinner etc.
  • Allow the product to completely dry before using.

SERVICE

  • For reasons of electrical safety, repairs must only be carried out by the retailer or an authorised electrician.
  • The product does not contain any parts that can be repaired by the user. Do not attempt to open the product, this can affect the protection rating.
  • If in an exceptional case, for example as a result of prolonged intensive use or an accident, the heating element needs to be replaced, take the product to an authorised service centre or an authorised electrician. The heating element must not be replaced by the user.
