GET FAMILIAR WITH YOUR DEVICE
In order to switch between recording modes, you must turn the mode switch circle to the right or left, depending on which mode you wish to use.

OPERATING YOUR DEVICE
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Allow the device to charge 4-6 hours before using it.
Note: If you are not located in the US, or if you intend to use this
product anywhere other than the US, you will need to purchase a converter in
order to use the AC wall plug in and avoid damaging the product. Because
different countries use different voltages in their electrical wiring, you
will need a converter that adapts to the current in your particular country.
HOW TO CHARGE THE VOICE RECORDER
- Remove the USB Cover from the top of the device (see page 3).
- Plug the USB stick into your PC’s USB jack.
- The charging indicator light will be solid while charging.
- b. The charging indicator light will blink when fully charged.
- Alternatively, you can plug the USB stick into an AC wall charger’s USB jack, then plug the wall charger into a functioning outlet.
HOW TO CHECK THE REMAINING BATTERY LIFE
- Eject the device from your PC or AC wall charger.
- The battery indicator light will display one of three ways.
- 0%-30% power = light off
- 30%-70% power = light blink
- 70%-100% power = light on
HOW TO RECORD [MANUALLY]
- Unplug the device from your PC or AC wall charger.
- Turn the mode circle switch to the manual recording position (see page 3 – there is a tiny indention on the outside of the device).
- The device is now recording.
- To stop recording, turn the mode switch to the stop position (see page 3 –middle position).
- The device has stopped recording and saved the file.
HOW TO RECORD USING VOICE ACTIVATION MODE
- Turn the mode circle switch to the voice activation mode side (see page 3 – there is a tiny indention on the outside of the device).
- After about 3 seconds, the red indicator light will blink.
- The device is now ready to record when it detects voices.
- To stop voice activated mode, turn the mode switch into the stop position (see page 3 – middle position).
- The device has exited voice activated mode, and has saved the audio file.
HOW TO USE LONG RECORDING
Long play is used while the device is plugged into your PC, allowing you to record for a long time.
- Turn the Recording Switch into the voice activated recording position (see page 3).
- after approx. 3 seconds, the red indicator light will blink.
- The device is now in voice activation mode and ready to record.
- Plug the USB stick into your PC’s USB jack.
- When you want to stop long recording, turn the Recording Switch into the stop position (see page 3), and safely eject the device from your PC.
- The device has stopped recording and saved the file.
SETTING THE TIME AND DATE ON THE AUDIO FILES
- Remove the USB cover and connect your device to your PC using the USB port.
- Open the “Removable Disk” inside the (My) Computer folder.
- Go to Start > Computer > Removable Disk
- Double-click the “Time Setup” file saved in the Removable Disk.
- The “date_time.cfg Creator” should open. Click the “Start” button in the popup window.
- The program should draw the current date and time as displayed on your computer.
- Safely eject the device from your computer and run a test recording to confirm the date and time were set successfully.
ADJUSTING SOUND QUALITY
- Connect your device to your PC using the USB port. Open the “date_time.cfg Creator” window inside your device.
- In the right side of the window, select the quality of recording you want, then hit “Start”. The automatic setting is “HQ”.
- Please note: Recording on “XHQ” will change the recording capacity from 288 hours to 144 hours.
HOW TO ADJUST VOICE ACTIVATION SENSITIVITY
- Connect your device to your PC using the USB port, and open the “Removable Disk”.
- In the “date_time.cfg Creator” window, select the “SVOS Level” according to your preferences.
- Selecting “-2” will cause the device to only activate when loud sounds are detected.
- Selecting “+2” will cause the device to activate when low sounds are detected.
- “0” is the default setting.
- Make your selection, then press “Start”.
- Safely eject the device from your computer, and perform test recordings to find the perfect setting for your situation.
RETRIEVE THE FILES TO YOUR PC

Remove the USB port cover (see page 3) and plug the device’s USB port into the USB port on your computer.

Locate “Removable Disk” inside the (My) Computer folder.
- AutoPlay Removable Disk > Open folder to view files Or…
Go to Start > Computer > Removable Disk
- AutoPlay Removable Disk > Open folder to view files Or…

Open the Removable Disk drive.

Open the [folder name] folder.

Double click the file you want to view.
If you are having video playback issues, such as a completely black video recording or “squiggly lines”, we recommend you use VLC media player to play back the videos. It can be downloaded for free from www.videolan.org
COPYING AND DELETING YOUR FILES
The video files created are just like any other file on your computer, and can be managed in the exact same manner.
- to save a file, you want to select the file, right click your mouse on the file name, and then choose “Copy” from the menu. Next, go the location you want the save the file to. Right click your mouse, and then chose “Paste.” This will copy the file to your computer.
- To delete a file, right click your mouse on the file name and choose “Delete” from the menu. You can quickly select all of the files by pressing “CTRL+A” on your keyboard.
- If you are using MAC OS X, you must empty the trashcan after you delete a file. If this is not done, the SD card will fill with hidden files, and the device will no longer record new files.
TROUBLESHOOTING
THE DEVICE WON’T TURN ON
- Charge the device for at least 4 hours before the first use.
- Make sure the device is securely connected to the charging source.
MY COMPUTER DOESN’T RECOGNIZE THE DEVICE
- Unplug the device from your PC and reboot the device.
- Try using a different USB slot on your PC.
- Unplug the device from your PC and reboot your PC.
THE SOUND IS UNCLEAR
The device needs charging.
