Read the instruction manual and the separately enclosed safety instructions very carefully before using this appliance. Keep these documents, including the warranty certificate, receipt and, if possible, the box with the inner packaging in a safe place. If you pass the appliance on to a third party, always include all the relevant documents.
Symbols in this Instruction Manual Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage to the appliance:

CAUTION: This refers to possible hazards to the appliance or other objects.

Unpacking the Appliance

  1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.

  2. Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling
    material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.

  3. Check the scope of delivery for completeness.

  4. If the contents of the packaging are incomplete or if
    damage can be detected, do not operate the appliance. Return it to the dealer immediately.

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance

WARNING: Risk of Burns!

  • Only touch the frying container by the handle. Use oven gloves if necessary.
  • Hot steam may escape from the air outlet during oper- ation. Keep enough distance.

CAUTION:

  • Do not cover the air inlet and outlet openings to en- sure sufficient air circulation.

CAUTION:

  • Keep a sufficient safety distance (30 cm) to easily inflammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc.!
  • Do not operate the appliance under wall cabinets because of the rising heat and fumes.
  • Do not tamper with the safety switch.
  • Overload! Do not use multiple socket, as this appliance is too powerful.

Notes for Use

Location

  • Place the appliance on a non-slip, level and heat-resist- ant surface.
  • Do not place the appliance with the back directly against a wall.
  • Make sure that the appliance and the power cord are never placed on hot surfaces or near heat sources (e. g. stove, hob).

Electrical Connection Before inserting the mains plug into the socket, check that the mains voltage you intend to use matches that of the appliance. You will find the information on the type plate.
Standby (Standby Mode) The appliance is in standby mode when only the button is lit. When faced with the following situations, the appliance will switch into standby:

  • When the power plug is inserted.
  • If no button is pressed for approx. 60 seconds. 3 signals sound.
  • When the time has elapsed. 3 signals sound.
  • When you press and hold the button for approx. 3 seconds.

Switching the Appliance On / Off Use the button to switch the appliance on and off.

  • The button flashes when the cooking process is active.
  • After the time has elapsed, the appliance will automatically switch into standby mode. The fan keeps running to cool down the appliance.

Before the First Use

  • There is a protective layer on the heating element. To remove this, operate the appliance for approx. 15 minutes without contents. Slight smoke and odour development is normal during this process. Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation.

WARNING:

Let the appliance cool down before cleaning it!

  • Unplug the appliance from the mains.
  • Wipe out the frying container, the sieve insert and the interior of the appliance before using the appliance.

Instructions for Use

  • This appliance is intended for the preparation of solid food. Do not prepare soups or other liquid foods in it.
  • A safety switch prevents the appliance from being used without a deep-frying container.
  • For best results, do not fill the frying container more than 1cm below the rim. Never overfill the frying container so that the food does not touch the heating element.
  • Never fill the deep-frying container with oil or other liquids. To achieve a crispy result, you can brush the food with a little oil.
  • Do not prepare very fatty foods (e.g. sausages) with the appliance.
  • All foods that are suitable for the oven can be prepared in the appliance.
  • The sieve insert is used to ensure that the accumulated fat settles at the bottom of the frying container. This makes the food crispier.
  • When baking cakes, bread, etc., keep in mind that the dough expands. It must not come into contact with the heating element.
  • When baking bread, etc., you can remove the sieve insert.
  • Food that lies on top of each other during cooking must be shaken halfway through the cooking time. This optimises the result and prevents uneven cooking.
  • Water home-made potato products for at least 30 minutes after cutting to reduce potato starch. Then dry the potato pieces well with kitchen paper.
  • The cooking time depends on various factors: Size, texture, amount of food and set temperature.
  • If you do not preheat the hot air fryer, add 3 minutes to the cooking time.
  • Fry steaks /larger quantities of meat hot in a pan before cooking in the hot air fryer. Time and temperature depend on the desired cooking level.
  • You can also reheat food with the appliance. Set the time to 10 minutes and the temperature to 150°C.

Function Buttons

  • The buttons on the appliance are touch buttons. Gently touch the buttons with a finger to execute the function. Whenever a button is pressed, it will be confirmed by a beep sound.
  • If you press and hold the or button, a fast run starts.

Setting the Temperature and Cooking Time

There are 2 buttons and on the appliance.

  • Use the or button next to the symbol to set the temperature (80  –200°C).
  • Use the or button next to the symbol to set the cooking time (1–  60 minutes).
  • The display alternates between the temperature and the cooking time

  • These shall be considered as guide values. Depending on the size and weight, the time and temperature may be longer and higher or shorter and lower.
  • Also observe the information on the food packaging.
  • You can also adjust the pre-set temperature and cooking time of the automatic programmes.

Using the Appliance


  1. Make sure that the appliance is disconnected from the mains.
  2. Pull the frying container out of the appliance by the handle.
  3. If necessary, place the sieve insert with the silicone nubs in the appliance. Push the sieve insert all the way down.
  4. Push the frying container back into the appliance. It must lock into place.
  5. Plug the appliance into a properly installed earthed socket. A beep sounds and all symbols light up briefly. The button lights up
  6. Press the button to exit standby mode. The appliance is pre-set to 200°C and 18 minutes.
  7. We recommend preheating the appliance for about 4 minutes. To do this, use the or buttons to set the required temperature and cooking time to 4 minutes.
  8. Press the  button to start the cooking process.
  9. After the time has elapsed, 3 signals sound and the appliance switches to standby mode.
  10. Pull the frying container out of the appliance by the handle.
  11. Place the frying container on a heat-resistant surface
  12. Fill the frying container with the desired food.
  13. Push the frying container back into the appliance.
  14. Press the button again to exit standby mode.
  15. Select an automatic programme or set the cooking time and temperature individually using the or buttons.
  16. Press the button to start the cooking process.
  17. If necessary, shake the food halfway through the cooking time. To do this, pull out the frying container by the handle.
  18. Push the frying container back into the appliance.

Interrupt Use

  • Press the  button to pause the operation. If you want to resume operation, press the button again within 60 seconds.
  • In addition, operation is interrupted when you pull out the frying container. Put the frying container back in to resume operation.
  • The appliance will start from the spot it has been paused. If, however, you pull out the power plug, your current settings will be lost. When inserting the power plug and pressing the button the appliance will show the pre-adjustment again.

End of Use

  1. After the cooking time has elapsed, the appliance automatically switches to standby mode.
  2. signals sound.
  3. Pull out the frying container by the handle.
  4. Put the food in a heat-resistant bowl.
  5. Push the frying container back into the appliance.

Cleaning

WARNING:

  • Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug from the socket before cleaning. Wait until the appliance has cooled down.

WARNING :

  • Do not immerse the appliance in water! It could cause an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION: Non-stick Coating

  • Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.

WARNING:

Let the sieve insert cool down before removing it from the frying container
You can clean the accessories in warm rinse water with a little hand dish- washing liquid.

  • Clean the inside and outside of the appliance with a slightly damp, not wet, cloth.
  • Also remove any food/fat residues on and next to the heating coil with a slightly damp cloth. Do not switch the

appliance on again until the heating coil is completely dry!

Storage
  • Clean the appliance as described. Allow the accessories to dry completely
  • We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for a long period of time.
  • Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.
Troubleshooting

If a problem occurs, it is often only due to something minor. Before contacting our service department, please note the following information:

Problem Possible Cause Remedy
The appliance has no function. The appliance has no power supply. Check the

power socket with another appliance.
Insert the mains plug correctly.
Check the house fuse.
You have not set a cooking time.| Select a desired cooking time.
The appliance is not switched on. The  button lights up.| Press the  button to switch on the appliance. The  button must flash.
The frying container is not inserted correctly. A safety switch prevents operation with an incorrectly inserted frying container.| Insert the frying container correctly. It must audibly click into place.
The food is not yet fully cooked.| The frying container is overfilled.| Reduce the amount of food. Smaller quantities are cooked more evenly.
The temperature is set too low.| Set a higher temperature.
The cooking time is set too short.| Set a longer time.
The food is cooked unevenly.| If food is on top of each other, there is not enough air circulation.| The food must be shaken halfway through the cooking time.
The food is not crispy.| Food has been used that is only suitable for a conventional deep fryer.| Use oven-ready foods or coat them with a little oil.
Smoke is coming out of the appliance.| You are preparing very fatty food.| Smoke may come out due to fat splashes inside the appliance. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
The frying container is overfilled. The food is touching the heating.| Reduce the amount of food.
There are still food / fat residues from previous use in the frying container or on the heating coil.| Clean the appliance after each use as described in the chapter “Cleaning”.
