TECHNICAL DATA
The specified values have been established based on a standardized test
process and can be used for comparing different electrical tools with one
another.
In addition, these values are suitable for estimating in advance the loads to
which the user is exposed due to vibration.
WARNING!
The actual vibration values may differ from those specified, depending on what
the electrical tool is used for.
Take measures to protect yourself against vibration loads. In doing so, take
account of the entire working process, i.e. also times during which the
electrical tool is operating without load, or is switched off.
Suitable measures include regular maintenance and care of the electrical tool
and the tool attachments, keeping your hands warm, taking regular breaks and
planning the working sequences effectively.
WARNING!
Wear ear defenders to prevent impairment of hearing.
CAUTION!
Read all safety instructions and other instructions.
Failure to comply with the safety instructions and other instructions can lead
to an electric shock, fire and/or series injuries.
CAUTION!
Keep all safety instructions and other instructions for future reference.
The term “electrical tool” used in the safety instructions refers to mains-
operated electrical tools (with mains cable) and to battery-operated
electrical tools (without mains cable).
CAUTION!
Only use the machine if it is in perfect technical condition!
Check the machine, cable and plug for damage before each use; damaged parts
must be repaired or renewed in a specialist workshop.
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
Do not deactivate safety and protective devices.
CAUTION!
Danger from electrical current!
Immediately disconnect the plug from the mains if the cable has been damaged
or cut!
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Safety in the workplace
- Keep your working area clean, and make sure it is well illuminated. Untidiness or dimly lit working areas can lead to accidents.
- Do not work with the electrical tool in a potentially explosive atmosphere with the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical tools give rise to sparks that can ignite the dust or vapours.
- Keep children and other people away from the electrical tool when using it. If you are distracted, you might lose control of the ma-chine.
- Electrical safety
- The connection plug of the electrical tool must fit into the socket. The plug is not allowed to be changed in any way. Do not use any plug adapters together with earthed electrical tools. Unmodified plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of an electric shock
- Avoid physical contact with earthed sur-faces such as on pipes, heaters, cookers and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock
- if your body is earthed.
- Keep electrical tools out of the rain and away from moisture. Water getting into an electrical tool increases the risk of an electric shock.
- Do not use the cable for incorrect purposes such as carrying the electrical tool, hanging it up or for pulling the plug out of the socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the equipment. Damaged or tangled cables increase the risk of an electric shock.
- Be alert, pay attention to what you are doing and take a cautious approach to working with an electrical tool. Do not use an electrical tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medicines. A moment’s inattentiveness when using the electrical tool can result in serious injuries.
- Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear baggy clothing or jewellry. Keep your hair, clothes and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellry or long hair can be snagged on moving parts.
- Personal safety
- Wear personal protective equipment, and always use safety goggles. The injury risk can be reduced by wearing personal protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip shoes, a protective helmet or ear defenders, depending on the type and application of the electrical tool.
- Avoid starting to operate the machine in-advertently. Make sure that the electrical tool is switched off before you connect it to the power supply, pick it up or carry it. Accidents can be caused by leaving your finger on the switch when you carry the electrical tool or when you connect it to the power supply.
- Remove the adjusting tools or spanner before you switch on the electrical tool. A tool or spanner that is in a rotating part of the machine can cause injuries.
- Avoid an abnormal bodily posture. Make sure you can stand safely and keep your balance at all times. This will enable you to control the electrical tool better if something unexpected happens.
- If dust extraction and collection devices can be attached, make sure that they are connected and used correctly. Using a dust extraction system can reduce the risk caused by dust.
- Use and handling of the electrical tool
- Do not overload the machine. Use the ap-propriate electrical tool for the job you are doing. Using the appropriate electrical tool will enable you to work more effectively and safely in the specified performance range.
- Do not use an electrical tool if it has a defective switch. An electrical tool that can no longer be switched on or off is dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the plug from the socket and/or remove the battery before you make adjustments to the machine, change accessories or put the machine away. This pre-cautionary measure will prevent the machine from starting inadvertently.
- Keep unused electrical tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow people to use the machine if they are not familiar with it, or have not read these instructions. Electrical tools are dangerous if they are used by inexperienced people.
- Look after electrical tools with care. Check whether moving parts function perfectly and do not stick, whether there are any broken parts or parts that are damaged in such a way that the function of the electrical tool is impaired. Have damaged parts repaired before you use the ma-chine. Many accidents are caused by failure to maintain electrical tools properly.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Care-fully maintained cutting tools with sharper cut-ting edges are less likely to stick and are easier to control.
- Use electrical tools, accessories, insertion tools, etc. according to these instructions. When doing so, take account of the working conditions and the activity to be undertaken. Using electrical tools for applications other than the intended purpose can result in dangerous situations.
- Use and handling of the battery-operated tool
- Only recharge batteries in chargers that are recommended by the manufacturer. Using a charger intended for one particular type of battery with a different type of battery represents a fire risk.
- Only use batteries in the electrical tools that are intended for this purpose. Using other batteries can lead to injuries and re-presents the risk of fire.
- Keep the unused battery away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that could short-circuit the contacts. A short circuit between the battery contacts can result in burns or fire.
- Incorrect use can result in fluid leaking out of the battery. Avoid contact with the fluid. In case of inadvertent contact, rinse off with water. If the fluid gets into your eye, seek additional medical assistance. Leaking battery fluid can lead to skin irritations or burns.
- Service
- For your own safety, only have your electrical tool repaired by qualified specialist personnel using genuine spare parts. This ensures that the electrical tool re-mains safe.
- Safety instructions for hedge trimmers
- Keep all body parts away from the cut-ting blade. Do not attempt to remove cut material or hold onto material to be cut when the blade is operating. Switch off the machine before you remove trapped cut material. A moment’s inattentiveness when using the hedge trimmer can result in serious injuries.
- Carry the hedge trimmer using the handle, and make sure the blade is switched off. Always put on the blade guard when transporting or storing the hedge trimmer. Careful handling of the machine reduces the risk of injury from the blade.
- Hold the electrical tool using the insula-ted handle surfaces, because the cutting blade could come into contact with concealed electrical cables. Contact between the cutting blade and a live cable can result in electrical current flowing through metal parts of the machine, leading to an electric shock.
