APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the purpose(s) listed below:
- Cleaning decks, sidewalks, and driveways
- Cleaning the undercarriage of trucks, SUVs, cars, commercial vehicles and trailers
INSTALLING THE WATER BROOM ON THE SPRAY WAND
See Figures 1-2.
Your water broom comes with two straight extension wands and one 90 degree
extension wand. The extension wands can be used in multiple configurations as
needed for your project.
- Insert the water broom inlet plug into one of the straight extension wands. Pull back the quick connect coupler and secure. Repeat with the second spray extension wand if additional length is needed.
- Connect the 90 degree spray extension wand to the second straight spray extension wand. Secure with the quick connect coupler.
- Insert the end of the 90 degree spray extension wand into the pressure washer’s spray lance and secure with the quick connect coupler.
NOTE: Be sure the water broom is securely locked into the lance before use.
⚠ WARNING
Only use the water broom on flat, horizontal surfaces. To reduce the risk of
injection or injury, never lift the water broom from the cleaning surface
while operating the pressure washer.
USING THE WATER BROOM
See Figure 3.
- After installing the water broom, connect the hose to the pressure washer as described in your pressure washer manual.
- Pull the pivot knob out and move the pivot coupler forward or back to achieve the desired nozzle orientation.
- Use with the nozzles pointed down and forward (pivot coupler in back position) to wash large flat surfaces like sidewalks or driveways.
- To clean the underside of raised items like your car’s undercarriage, pivot so the nozzles are pointed upward (pivot coupler in forward position).
- Place the water broom on the horizontal surface being cleaned and start the pressure washer.
- Squeeze the trigger and move slowly allowing the unit to clean the surface.
- Walk slowly behind the water broom, cleaning as you go.
NOTE: Swirling or striping in the cleaned surface indicates you may be
moving too quickly. If a slower pace doesn’t stop the condition, the water
broom nozzles may be clogged.
See Nozzle Maintenance to clean the nozzles.
⚠ WARNING
Avoid striking any raised obstacles while using the water broom as damage may
occur to the unit. Continuing use could result in serious injury or damage to
the unit.
⚠ WARNING
To reduce the risk of injection or injury, do not depress the trigger until
the water broom nozzles are completely underneath the surface being cleaned,
and always release the trigger before removing the water broom from underneath
the surface.
NOZZLE MAINTENANCE
See Figure 4.
The water broom comes assembled. The nozzles are approved for use with
pressure washers operating at 2200 to 4000 PSI with a maximum flow rate of 4.0
GPM (2.0 GPM minimum). A pulsing sensation felt while squeezing the trigger
and/or a higher vibration in the water broom may be the result of a clogged or
dirty nozzle.
-
Turn off the pressure washer and shut off the water supply. Place unit on the ground and pull the trigger to release the water pressure in the lance.
-
Pull back the quick-connect collar to disconnect the water broom from the lance.
-
Use a nozzle cleaning tool or a fine needle to free any foreign materials that are clogging or restricting the nozzle.
-
Use a garden hose to back-flush the nozzle and force out the debris.
NOTE: Never point the nozzle outlet at your face. -
Reconnect the water broom to the lance.
-
Turn on the water supply and start the pressure washer to resume cleaning.
