B Hardware Installation

Use a Cat 5e cable to connect the VM6809H’s Ethernet port to LAN/ WAN to allow for access to the web interface.

Connect up to 9 HDMI display devices to the HDMI Out Ports.

Connect up to 8 HDMI video sources to the HDMI In Ports.

(Optional) To extract HDMI audio, connect a speaker to the Audio Out Port.

(Optional) To control the VM6809H using a serial device, use a serial cable to connect the RS-232 Serial Port to a computer or a serial controller.

Use a grounding wire to ground the unit by connecting one end of the wire to the grounding terminal, and the other to a suitable grounded object.
Note: Do not omit this step. Proper grounding helps prevent damage to the unit from surges or static electricity. -
Plug the supplied power cord into the power socket, and then into an AC power source.

Power on the VM6809H and all the connected devices.
Operation
The VM6809H can be confi guard and operated locally on the front panel LCD
using the pushbuttons, remotely via a web interface over a standard TCP/IP
connection, or by an RS-232 serial controller. For detailed information, see
the user manual.
Front Panel Operation
To gain access to devise settings using the front panel pushbuttons, type the
default password 1234 using the Input Pushbuttons. The main functions of the
pushbutton are described below.

Remote Operation via the Web Interface
The VM6809H supports three levels of remote users with various operational
privileges and 16 concurrent logins. To access the web interface, follow the
steps below:
- Type the default IP address http://192.168.0.60 into a web browser. If a security alert appears, accept the certifi cate. The Login screen appears.
- Type the default username administrator and the password to log in.
Note: The VM6809H supports usernames in lowercase only.
