Installation Steps

NOTE: If you purchased QP009631 HEADLIGHT/FOG KIT, please refer to steps 1-11. QP009524 HEADLCHTS please refer to steps 1-7 and for QP006349 FOG LIGHTS please start directly from step 9.

Tools required: Flat Head Screw Driver or Nylon Panel Removal Tool 10mm Socket, Ratchet/Drill and Ratchet external 10mm and 13mm Wrenches.

Open the hood of your car. Remove the grill by taking out the 6 push pins using a flathead screwdriver or panel popper. Next remove the stock headlights held in with 3 bolts on each light, using a socket. Unplug the stock headlights by pushing the backside connector tab on the wiring harness with your thumb.
Plug in both the provided headlight wire plugs and the factory headlight sockets and reinstall your new LED JL headlights into your vehicle. Re-use the 3 mounting screws and connect the new headlight connector to the stock JL headlight connector. If not wiring up DRL or amber turn signals you can proceed to step 7. If you plan to use the DRL or amber turn signal lights, run the DRL and amber turn signal wires into the fender area and back towards the firewall by using the provided external wires (refer to wiring diagram).
Now you need to locate the stock fender connector on each side. Remove the ground wires from the fender next to the battery on the passenger’s side. Remove the nut next to it holding them to the fender (be very careful not to drop the nuts). Move the ground wires out of the way to access the front fender harness. It is located directly below the ground bolts.
Pull the fender liner back to gain access to the DRL/side marker bracket. Remove the bolts and loosen the two bolts holding the bracket in place. Locate the ock JL Fender Wire Harness connector.
Pull back the wheel liner, we can see factory fender light wires. Referring to the wiring diagram, on the left driver’s side, the WHITE-GREEN wire is for the turn signal light, the WHITE-YELLOW one is for daytime running light. On the right passenger side, the WHITE-BEIGE wire is for the turn signal light, the WHITE-DARK BLUE one is for the daytime running light. Using T-tap connectors and external wires, connect the yellow external wires of the new LED headlights to the factory turn signal wires and connect the white external wires to the factory daytime running light wire.
Test all functions of the new LED headlights, and reinstall the black box with the 10mm bolts back on the fender.
Make sure the beam locations are not too high up and potentially blinding oncoming traffic, reinstall the grille and secure it with the original push rivets.
Fog lights installation: First, remove the bumper. Then disconnect the stock fog light power connector, and remove your stock JL fog lights. Reinstall your new LED fog lights. Determine which brackets you will need below. Run the DRL and Amber Turn signal wires into the fender area. Please note our JL fog lights can NOT be installed on the 10th Anniversary bumper, please make sure before purchasing, thanks!

Refer to the wiring diagram, connect the DRL wire (white external wire) and turn the signal wire (yellow external wire) on your new LED fog lights to the JL factory fender wire harness by using T-tap connectors. On the left driver side, the WHITE-GREEN wire is for the turn signal light, the WHITE-YELLOW one is for DRL; On the right passenger side, the WHITE-BEIGE wire is for the turn signal light, and the WHITE-DARK BLUE one is for DRL.
Turn on the new fog lights while holding the lamp in place. Rotate the adjustment screw (clockwise to raise, counterclockwise to lower) on the rear of the lamp to aim the light like the existing fog light. When the existing and new fog light horizon lines are aligned, re-torque all bolts of fog lights.
- NOTE: You can also connect DRL external wires to the fuse F52 (cigarette lighter) and ground the negative wire to the negative battery post (fuse and negative wire are NOT included).

Wiring Diagram

Your factory fender lights wires may be in a different configuration than the one used in this instruction guide. Below are the wiring configurations 5 wires for stock headlights are led and 6 wires for stock headlights are halogen. Thus, your installation or wiring may differ. You can use a multi- meter or consult your model’s wiring diagram to ensure proper function.
