  1. Start the installation under the passenger/right side of the vehicle. Release the lower clips from the plastic trim along the bottom of the body, (Figure 1).
    • NOTE: From below, insert a small or medium sized flat blade screwdriver into the rectangular hole in the center of the clip. Carefully release each side, (inside to outside, not front to back) of the plastic clip and pull the rectangular center pin down from the clip, (Figure 2). Do not twist the clip, gently pull it straight down once it is released. It is not necessary to completely remove the trim, only release the clips attaching the trim to the vehicle.
  2. IMPORTANT: Remove excess undercoating from all mounting locations so that Brackets will install flat against body panel and pinch weld.
  3. Move to the #2 mounting location. Locate the factory hole approximately 24” back from the front of the body, (Figure 3).
  4. Select (1) 10mm Bolt Plate, (1) 10mm Plastic Retainer and (1) 10mm x 30mm Large Flat Washer, (Figure 4). Thread the Retainer part way onto the Bolt Plate. Insert the Bolt Plate into the hole and tighten the Retainer against the body panel. Slide the 10mm Flat Washer onto the end of the Bolt Plate, (Figures 5 and 6).
    • IMPORTANT: The Plastic Retainer is designed to prevent the Bolt Plate from falling into the body panel and to aid in Bracket installation.
  5. Select (1) Mounting Bracket, (Figure 6). Line up the long slot in the center of the Bracket with the Bolt Plate and Flat Washer. Attach the Bracket to the Bolt Plate with (1) 10mm x 30mm Large Flat Washer and (1) 10mm Nylon Lock Nut, (Figures 6 & 7). Push the Bracket up tight against the bottom of the body and temporarily tighten the Lock Nut.
  6. Move to the last mounting location at the rear of the body in front of the rear tire, (Figure 8). Repeat Steps 2—5 to attach (1) Mounting Bracket to the factory hole in the side of the body, (Figure 13).
  7. Select the Passenger/right Running Board, (Figure 9). Attach the Running Board to the rear facing side of the previously installed #2 and rear Mounting Brackets with the included (4) 10mm x 35mm Hex Bolts, (8) 10mm x 27mm STD Flat Washers and (4) 10mm Nylon Lock Nuts. Leave hardware loose.
  8. 8. Select (3) Mounting Brackets. Attach the Brackets to the rear facing side of the front, #3 and #4 mounting tabs on the bottom of the Running Board, (Figure 10). Line up the (3) Brackets with the body panel to determine mounting locations and type of mounting method.
  9. 9. Determine the Bracket installation method for your model vehicle.
    • #2 and rear mounting locations with 10mm Bolt Plate.
    • Mark the location of the (2) bottom slots in each Bracket onto the pinch weld, (Figure 11). Temporarily remove the Bracket. Use a 5/16” drill bit to drill (2) holes through the pinch weld only. NOTE: Drill the holes as far away from the bottom edge of the pinch weld as possible.
    • IMPORTANT: Do not drill through the welds in the pinch weld. Slide the Bracket forward or back to move the slots away from the factory spot welds. Do not drill into or through the outer plastic rocker panel cover.
    • IMPORTANT! Any cutting or drilling tool may break or shatter. Government regulations require safety glasses & equipment at all times when cutting or drilling.
    • Select (2) 8mm Clip Nuts. Side the Clip Nuts over the pinch weld with the nut toward the outside, (Figures 12 & 13).
    • Reinstall the Bracket. Attach the Bracket to the pinch weld with (2) 8mm x 25mm Hex Bolts, (2) 8mm Lock Washers and (2) 8mm Flat Washers, (Figure 14). Leave hardware loose at this time.
    • Repeat this Step to drill the rear location for the Mounting Bracket, (Figure 16).
    • Mounting locations with factory mounting studs:
    • Move to the front Mounting Bracket. Slide the Bracket over the studs in the body panel.
    • Attach the Bracket to the studs (2) 8mm Flat Washers and (2) 8mm Nylon Lock Nuts, (Figures 15 & 19). Do not tighten hardware.
    • Mark the location of the (2) bottom slots in each Bracket onto the pinch weld, (Figures 15 & 16).
Side the Clip Nuts over the pinch weld with the nut toward the outside, (Figures 17 & 18).
    • Reinstall the Bracket. Attach the Bracket to the pinch weld with (2) 8mm x 25mm Hex Bolts, (2) 8mm Lock Washers and (2) 8mm Flat Washers, (Figure 19). Leave hardware loose at this time.
    • Repeat previous Steps for all Bracket installations with existing studs.
    • Locations without studs in body panel, (models without existing holes will require drilling to install U-Bolts):
    • Move to the front mounting location and Bracket, (Figure 20).
    • Push the Bracket firmly in position against the bottom and side of the body panel. Mark the (2) upper slots in the Mounting Bracket on the side of the body panel, (Figure 22). NOTE: Some models may have existing holes in the body panel, (Figure 21). Mark the location of the (2) bottom slots in each Bracket onto the pinch weld, (Figure 22).
    • Temporarily remove the Bracket.
    • Using a 3/8” drill bit, drill out the (2) upper marked areas, (Figure 23). NOTE: Do not drill through the outer body panel or damage to the body will result.
    • Use a 5/16” drill bit to drill (2) holes through the pinch weld only, (Figure 23). NOTE: Drill the holes as far away from the bottom edge of the pinch weld as possible. IMPORTANT: Do not drill through the welds in the pinch weld. Do not drill into or through the outer rocker panel cover.
    • IMPORTANT! Any cutting or drilling tool may break or shatter. Government regulations require safety glasses & equipment at all times when cutting or drilling.
    • Select (2) 8mm Clip Nuts. Side the Clip Nuts over the pinch weld with the nut toward the outside, (Figure 23).
    • Select (1) 8mm U-Bolt. Thread (1) 8mm Plastic Retainer onto one end of the U-Bolt. Insert the U-Bolt into (1) of the drilled holes and out of the other hole, (Figure 24). Thread (1) 8mm Plastic Retainer onto the remaining end of the U-Bolt to hold it in place on the body panel. Models with existing holes in panel, insert the U-Bolt through the existing holes.
    • Attach the Mounting Bracket to the U-Bolt with (2) 8mm Flat Washers and (2) 8mm Nylon Lock Nuts, (Figure 25). Attach the Bracket to the pinch weld with (2) 8mm x 25mm Hex Bolts, (2) 8mm Lock Washers and (2) 8mm Flat Washers, (Figures 25 & 26). Leave hardware loose.
