DORMAN 742-523 Front Driver Side Power Window Motor
INSTALLATION
ATTENTION: Refer to the appropriate shop manual for your vehicle to obtain specific service procedures for this part. If you do not have a service manual or lack the skill to install this part, it is recommended that you seek the services of a qualified technician. Pay special attention to all cautions and warnings included in the shop manual. Read and follow all instructions carefully.
STEP 1: Initialize the window lift motor
Before attaching the motor to the window regulator, plug the motor into the
door wiring harness ONLY. Use the window switch from your door panel to
activate the window lift motor in the upward direction for a minimum of 8
seconds.
NOTE: Do not attach the motor to the regulator until after this step is
complete.
STEP 2: Install the window lift motor
Unplug the motor and install it back on the regulator/panel assembly in the
door. Reattach the window and raise it to the fully-closed position (without
using the “Auto-Up” function of the switch). Lower the window with the “Auto-
Down” feature on your window switch. Verify the initialization procedure has
worked by pressing the “Auto-Up” feature on your window switch. The window
should rise to the top of the door frame and remain closed.
NOTE: If, upon using the “Auto-Up” feature, the window reverses direction
once it gets to the top of the door frame, it may be necessary to repeat these
steps.
