The Eris BT-series speakers are sold as a pair with one active speaker and one passive. The active Eris BT speaker is equipped with two amplifiers: one for itself and one for its passive companion. Because of this, only one speaker requires a connection to a power outlet, affording greater placement flexibility.. Note that Eris E3.5 BT and E4.5 BT features Class A/B amplification while Eris E5 BT is Class D, offering better power efficiency and reduced weight.

What Bluetooth version does the Eris BT series support?

While the Eris BT series share a similar component design, utilizing a silk- dome tweeter, woven composite woofer, and Class A/B amplification, Eris professional studio monitors have several key differentiators. Because Eris- series professional monitors are designed primarily for studio production, where critical listening is key, they have several acoustic design elements not found in Eris media reference monitors, like the E3.5 BT, E4.5 BT, and E5 BT. Every Eris studio monitor features a front-panel acoustic port, making them more consistent from room to room. By contrast, Eris BT monitors are ported in the rear to provide a big sound from a small enclosure, but are slightly more prone to room interference when placed near a wall. Each Eris studio monitor is equipped with Class A/B bi-amplification, providing o amplifier dedicated to powering the high-frequency driver and another dedicated to powering the low-frequency driver. By separating the frequencies before they hit the amplifiers, a bi-amped speaker system removes one of the major sources of intermodulation distortion. The resulting sound is more open and clear-and less fatiguing. The Eris ES XT and E8XT are also equipped with an elliptical waveguide to shape the high-frequency wavefront of a soft dome tweeter, controlling the dispersion pattern so that it is as uniform and smooth as possible. The Eris E44 and E66 feature a nested MTM (mid-woofer- tweeter-midwoofer) design that provides a smoother frequency response and a wider, more detailed stereo image than most traditional studio monitor designs. Every Eris-series professional studio monitor is also provided with both an onboard EQ and Acoustic Space controls not found in the smaller Eris- series media reference speakers for adjusting their response to the room in finer detail.

Do the Eris BT-series media reference Do monitors include safety features?

Yes, all Eris monitors offer protection from most common environmental and performance problems. RF shielding protects against radio frequencies that could be induced into the signal and become audible. Eris monitors also provide over-temperature protection to avoid heat-related issues, current- output limiting (to prevent damage should there be a short circuit on the speaker terminals), and subsonic protection to filter out extremely low- frequency vibrations that could interfere with the woofer’s performance.
