INSTALL THE BASE

Fixed Location
Tools You Will Need
• Flathead screwdriver

  1. Choose a convenient location with a firm work surface.
  2. Mount the platform base using the included hardware as shown below.

NOTICE: If you are using a thin-gauge work surface, Vollrath suggests placing a spacer plate underneath. This will prevent the work surface from flexing, which may cause the can contents to spill when opening.

Variable Location

  1. If the can opener is not permanently mounted to a countertop, install the clamp attachment to the platform base.
  2. Tighten the clamp to secure the platform base to the countertop.

OPERATION

  1. Place the bar into the base.VOLLRATH BCO-2000 Can Openers Medium Duty - Fig 3

Using a swift downward movement, punch the blade into the can lid.

  3. Lower the handle 90° to the DOWN position to engage the gear drive.

  4. Rotate the handle in a clockwise direction to open the can.

  5. Raise the handle to the UP position to disengage the gear drive.

  6. Lift up on the handle to raise the bar sufficiently to release the blade from the can. Move the can away from the bar, taking care not to spill the contents.

CLEANING

NOTICE: Food acids can cause the blade to become dull and corrode the metal. Immediately clean the unit after every use.
NOTICE: Hand wash only.

  1. Using HOT water and a bristle brush, thoroughly rinse off or spray off the can opener.
