INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the Dance-Around Learning Hound™. Dance along to colors, numbers and an ABC song or groove to dance melodies. Play a game to encourage listening and moving fast and slow. This puppy likes to have a dog- gone good time showing off dance moves like “Tap your heart!” or “Lean to the side!” as its belly lights up in a rainbow of colors.

WARNING
All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties and packaging screws are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE
Please save this Instruction Manual as it contains important information.
Unlock the Packaging Locks

Rotate the packaging locks 90
degrees counterclockwise. -
Pull out the packaging locks and
discard.
GETTING STARTED
ACTIVATE NORMAL PLAY MODE
This product is in Try-Me mode in the package and the unit can only be turned on again by first pressing the Alpha Grooves button. To activate normal play mode, please turn the toy Off and then back On.
BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
- Make sure the unit is turned Off.
- Find the battery covers located on the bottom of each foot. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws, and then open the battery covers.
- Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each battery.
- Install 4 new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the two battery boxes. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended.)
- Replace the battery covers and tighten the screws to secure.
WARNING:
Adult assembly required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of reach of children.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
- Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
- Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from the toy before charging.
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
PRODUCT FEATURES
1. Off/Low/High Volume Selector
To turn the unit On, slide the Off/Low/
High Volume Selector to the Low or
High position. To turn the unit Off, slide
the Off/Low/High Volume Selector to
the Off position.
2. Mode Buttons
Press one of the Mode Buttons to play:
Alpha Grooves , Color Combos ,
Number Jams , Stoplight Game
or Puppy Playlist .
3. Light-Up Belly
Light-Up Belly shows different colors
and flashes to the rhythm of the songs
and music.
4. Automatic Shut-Off
To preserve battery life, the Dance-Around Learning Hound™ will automatically
shut off after approximately 40 seconds without input. The unit can be turned
on again by pressing any of the Mode Buttons.
ACTIVITIES
1. Alpha Grooves Mode
Press the button to dance along to an Alphabet Song and discover letter dance
moves like, “W! Let’s wiggle!”
2. Color Combos Mode
Press the button to dance to color inspired moves, such as “Yellow! Do the
banana.” or jump and shout out for your favorite color.
3. Number Jams Mode
Make your dance moves – count from 1 to 10! Listen for counting dance moves
like “Clap for 3!”
4. Stoplight Game Mode
Watch the Puppy’s belly light up in colors and dance fast (green), slow
(yellow) or stop (red).
5. Puppy Playlist Mode
Press to hear and dance along to different melody playlists.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
- Remove the batteries if the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
- Turn the unit Off.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to use again.
- If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries.
Environmental Phenomena
The unit may malfunction if subjected to radio-frequency interference. It should revert to normal operation when the interference stops. If not, it may become necessary to turn the power off and back on, or remove and reinstall the batteries. In the unlikely event of an electrostatic discharge, the unit may malfunction and lose memory, requiring the user to reset the device by removing and reinstalling the batteries.
