POD OPTIC / SENSOR / GEARBOX REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Should the luminaire cartridge optic, sensor or gearbox require removal /replacement, please follow the steps below. It is recommended that this work is undertaken with the luminaire removed from ceiling & with the front face of luminaire protected from damage.

  1. Isolate & disconnect all Mains, Dali, & Sensor cables connected to the Driver or Luminaire gearbox assembly. Please note that Sensor cable connections are polarity sensitive.

  2. To remove Sensor – Working from the rear of the luminaire, carefully prise off the retaining clip using a suitable tool & remove sensor/lead & spacer from the front face. (Fig. 6)

  3. To remove Gearbox – Working from the rear of luminaire, separate the gearbox from the canopy by removing the 3 screws (Fig.6) & detach the earth lead spade from the gearbox.

  4. To remove Cartridge Optic – Working from the rear of the luminaire:
    (a) Release the cartridge optic cable from canopy by untightening the clamp screws (Fig.7)
    (b) Unscrew & remove the indicated screw from each end of luminaire & retain (Fig.7)
    (c) Using Finger pressure only!, depress the 2 protruding endcap tabs at one end until the cartridge assembly is released from the canopy.(Fig.7) Nb Use of tools may damage tabs.

  5. Refitting of the cartridge optic, gearbox & sensor is reverse of the procedures above.
Nb – Refit cartridge pod by gently pushing cartridge from the front whilst pulling through any cable slack until an audible ‘click’ is heard & all 4 tabs are fully engaged into endcap slots.
!NB Ensure that the 2 security screws are refitted into the canopy endcaps at diagonally opposte corners to secure optic cartridge.

Do Not Cover Luminaire With Thermal Insulation

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. A qualified electrician, in accordance with IEE wiring regulations should carry out connection to mains wiring.
  2. Luminaire must be isolated before commencing any necessary maintenance work or battery connection.
  3. Observe ESD precautions during installation.
  4. All luminaires must be EARTHED. (Excluding Class II Luminaires)
  5. Ensure that the rated voltage and frequency requirements are compatible with the available mains supply.
  6. Cleaning of lenses should be carried out using clean, soft and lint free cloths and anti-static cleaning fluid.
  7. Do not carry out high voltage insulation test, i.e. 500/1000v as this may damage internal components.
  8. Batteries must be replaced by a qualified electrician when they do not meet the rated duration.
  9. Dali control cables must be double insulated & have an equivalent rating to the supply cable.
  10. The light source contained within this luminaire shall only be replaced by the manufacturer, his agent or a similar qualified person.
  11. The Luminaire body may become hot under normal operating conditions. Allow to cool before undertaking any necessary maintenance work.
  12. Ensure that the specified ceiling system is of sufficient strength to support the weight of the luminaire.
  13. Do not cover recessed luminaires with any thermally insulating materials.
  14. Holes are situated in each of the optical cartridge endcaps to ensure drainage of any water ingress.

Nb Do not support luminaire from cross tees – Support from main runners only !
