Set up Your MEGABOOK
Connect the power adapter and press the power button.

Get started with Windows 11
Windows account A user account is required to use the Windows operating system. Either a Windows user account or a Microsoft account is accessible to log in. Windows user account If you use Windows for the first time, a Windows user account is required to be created. The first account created is of the “Administrator” type. With an Administrator account, you can create additional user accounts or change account types by the following steps:
- Click the Start menu and select Settings Accounts Family&other people.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Microsoft account
You can also sign in to the Windows operating system with a Microsoft account.
To create a Microsoft account, go to the Microsoft sign-up page at
https://signup.live.com and follow the on-screen instructions.

Connect to Networks
Your computer helps you connect to the world through a wireless network.
- Click the network icon in the Windows notification area. A list of available wireless networks is displayed.
- Select a network to connect to. Provide required information if needed.
NOTE : If connecting to a secured wireless network, enter the password for the wireless network access when prompted.

| The sound is not audible| • Press the F8 Arrow several times.
• Click the speaker icon on the taskbar to ensure that Mute is not checked.
Sound does not record| Check software controls for recording sound: Start, Settings, System,

No sound from
the headphones
| • Check the headphone cable connection.
• Adjust the window’s volume control.
Display
| The notebook is on,
but the screen is dark
| • Try pressing F3 to increase the contrast or F2 to decrease the
contrast.
The screen is difficult to read| Check whether the display resolution is set to its default
setting-1920×1200 for a 14’’ display. Check this in Start, Settings, System, Display, and Display resolution.
Heat Problems| The notebook gets hot| • Note that it is normal for the notebook to get warm. DOS games and other programs that drive CPU usage toward 100% can contribute to a temperature increase.
Keyboard or Touch Pad Problems
| Touchpad is difficult
to control
| Check the touchpad settings(Start, Settings, Devices, Mouse, Mouse
pointer speed).
The touchpad doesn’t work| Press F4 in case the internal TouchPad was disabled.
Don’t touch the touchpad while booting or resuming. Reboot the notebook.
Performance Problems

The notebook pauses or runs sluggishly
| • Press CTRL+ALT+DEL choose Task Manager to see if an application is not responding.
• Reboot the notebook.
• Delete temporary and unneeded files.
• Certain background operations (such as VirusScan) can affect performance while they’re running.
• Some file browsers may be unresponsive while they’re processing a graphic image or waiting for broken network connections to time out.
• Install additional memory if Windows is spending a lot of time swapping to disk.
• Check the amount of available free disk space.
Power and Battery Problems
| The notebook turns off immediately after it turns on|
Battery power is probably extremely low. Plug in the AC adapter.

The battery doesn’t charge
| • Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the power source and that the charge light is on.
• If you’re using a power strip, remove the AC adapter from the power strip and plug it directly into a wall outlet.
• Turn off the notebook, then check that the AC adapter cables are fully plugged in.
• Move the notebook away from any nearby heat source. Unplug the AC adapter and allow the battery to cool down. An elevated battery temperature prevents charging.
• If available, try another AC adapter.
The notebook stops responding
| • Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to choose Task Manager and end the application that is not responding.
• Press the power button for at least 10 seconds to turn off the notebook. Then press the button again to turn the notebook back on.
Startup Problems
| The laptop doesn’t respond at turn-on| • Connect the AC adapter.
• Press the power button to try turning on the unit.
The notebook doesn’t boot from battery power| • Connect the AC adapter.
• Press the power button to try turning on the unit.

Safety Instructions

- Disconnect the AC power and remove the battery pack before cleaning. Wipe the laptop with a clean cellulose sponge or chamois cloth dampened with a solution of nonabrasive detergent and a few drops of warm water and remove any extra moisture with a dry cloth.
- Protect yourself from the heat generated by your laptop or the AC adapter. Do not block the vent of your laptop where heat is dissipated.
- Prevent your laptop from getting wet and keep liquids away from your laptop. Caution the danger of electric shock if spills or drops are displayed on/in the laptop unit or AC adapter.
- Handle your laptop gently. Do not drop, bump, scratch, twist, hit, vibrate, push, or place heavy objects on your laptop, display, or external devices.
- Do not press or touch the display panel. Pay attention to small items with sharp or solid surface that might cause scratches.
- Avoid stamping on or placing heavy objects on the cables. Do not use damaged power cords, accessories, or other peripherals.
- Use your laptop in environments with ambient temperatures. Do not use the product under any extreme weather or in strong magnetic/electrical fields. Do not place your laptop near heat sources such as radiators, air ducts, or direct sunlight.
- Knockdown of AC adapter adapter is forbidden. Risk of high voltage and electric shock. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel if needed.
Do not throw the laptop unit or AC adapter in municipal waste. This product has been designed to enable proper reuse of parts and recycling. This symbol indicates that the product should not be placed in municipal waste. Check local regulations for the disposal of electronic products.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
TECNO laptop product is warranted against defects in materials or workmanship
for a period (depending on the product, as described on the warranty card).
The limited warranty begins on the original date of purchase. Warranty repair
must be carried out by a designated agent after the sale, TECNO’s authorized
service centre. To receive warranty service, the original proof of purchase
must be presented to TECNO or TECNO’s authorized service centre. For carrying-
in service, transportation to and from the service centre is the
responsibility of the purchaser. The appointed agent will carry out after-
sales maintenance for this product, at TECNO’s option and at no charge for the
parts and services, if this product is defective during the limited warranty
period. During the warranty period from the date of original retail purchase
by the customer or the product activated (If the last day of the warranty
validity period is a legal holiday, the next day of the holiday shall
prevail), TECNO will provide customers with free maintenance under the
circumstance of non-human damage to the host of the product.
EXCLUSIONS

- Products with original serial numbers removed, altered or not able to be readily determined.
- Damage caused by transportation and handling, including scratches, dents, chips, and/or any damages to the exterior of your product.
- Damage or failure caused by incorrect electrical current or voltage, fluctuations or surges.

- Damage or failure caused by products or equipment not supplied by TECNO.

NOTIFICATIONS
The warranty card is confined to the first purchaser of the product only and is
not transferable. The warranty covers only TECNO products purchased from
authorized TECNO dealers.
