OPERATING TIMES
On Type 692U, 692U/C the times are adjusted by means of trimmers located in
the middle at the top:
LOCK ACTIVATION TIME:
Adjusts lock activation time from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 30 seconds.
CAMERA TIME:
Adjusts the activation time of the camera for the 3 modes in which it can
operate:
MODE | MINIMUM | MAXIMUM |
---|---|---|
CALL | 7.5 | 30 |
CONVERSATION | 30 | 120 |
SELF-START | 5 | 20 |
The ratio between these two times is always constant:
Self-Start = 1/6 conversation
Call = 1/4 conversation
EXTERNAL VOLUME
The external volume is adjusted with the external volume trimmer located behind the camera
ASSIGNING THE CALL PUSH-BUTTON
Press the reset push-button on the speech unit, hold the call push-button down
and release the reset push-button. After two seconds, the unit’s loudspeaker
emits a high-pitched tone. The call push-button must be released within two
seconds. From the rest state, when the handset is lifted, all the devices
(interphones/video interphones) react by emitting a three-tone ascending scale
through the loudspeaker.
As of this moment, you have 25 seconds to press any push-button on the
interphones/video interphones controlling an actuator (usually the stairlight
control), F1 or F2 function, or in the last instance the door lock release
push-button on the device you intend to
assign to the call push-button of the speech unit. When this is done, a low-
pitched tone is emitted by the loudspeaker. The same sound is emitted when the
timeout elapses.
IMPORTANT: IF YOU USE THE DOOR LOCK RELEASE PUSH-BUTTON, THE LOCK
CONNECTED TO AN ENTRANCE PANEL MAY BE OPENED.
CALL
The call ringtone generated by an entrance panel does not follow the rhythm of
the pressed push-button, but is electronically regenerated. The number of
cycles is programmed in each entrance panel and has a default setting of 2.
The ringtone follows the sequenceof 1 second of sound followed by a 2 second
pause. This applies to the ringtone on monitors/ interphones as well as any
call control on the entrance panel.
The monitor switches on immediately and an answer can be given at any moment
within the time set on the entrance panel, the timing of which starts from the
end of the last ringtone cycle.
To answer, simply lift the handset. If the handset is already lifted when the
call is received, press and release the ‘hook’ to enable conversation. The
duration of conversation is set on each entrance panel.
After this conversation time dwell, if a new call is effected from the panel
within 10 seconds, it is possible to answer directly without hooking the
handset.
RINGTONE MUTING
If a call is made to an interphone or monitor with the ringtone mute enabled, the panel indicates that the call cannot be sent, with the emission of a dissuasion tone for a few seconds, of very short repeated “Beeps.
ENGAGED
If a call is in progress on the same section of the bus in which the entrance
panel is inserted, the ENGAGED-PLEASE WAIT message lights up until the line is
free. Separator Type 692S prevents an engaged cable riser from blocking any
other riser, thus allowing simultaneous communications.
The advanced configurations can be set by means of programming module Type
950C connected to CN7 inside camera Type 692U, or with the PC Software
SaveProg Type 69CD, in this case it is necessary to have the interfaces Type
692I or Type 692I/U.

Opening the entrance panel
PANEL INSTALLATION
To separate the base of the entrance panel from the plate:
With a screwdriver, press the left-hand side of the sliding door marked with
the ELVOX logo. Slide the door to the left and use the wrench supplied for
opening and closing the entrance panel (Fig. 1).
Before installing equipment, choose location for camera entrance panel: the
camera should be protected from direct light (sun, car headlights, etc.) as
this may affect the quality of the picture, and may damage the camera.
Type 692U is a B/W camera with speech unit, while type 692U/C is a colour
camera with speech unit.
Mount the entrance panels with the screws and expansion plugs supplied, or on
a 3-module vertical box. Entrance panels with cameras should be installed at
the height of 1,65 m. measured from the top edge of the entrance panel to the
ground. Fit camera in its seat in the entrance panel (as shown in Fig. 2-3),
and position the entrance panel microphone as shown in Fig. 4.
Fig. 2 shows the set of entrance panel components:
A – Front plate
B – Base of plate
C – Camera
Connect the black/red wire to the ENGAGED-PLEASE WAIT connector onthe back of
he front plate of the entrance panel A (Fig. 2).
Connect the green wires to the entrance panel push-button, and the black and
white wires to the entrance panel LED (Fig. 2 and Fig. 4).
N.B. Do not connect the terminal block of the camera to the system until the
wires (green, black and white) have been connected to the entrance panel.
Lastly connect camera to the system with the terminal block.
BUS TERMINATION
In the bottom left-hand corner of the camera is a connector with 4 positions
(Fig. 5).
A jumper in one of the three possible positions (A-B, B-C, C-D), terminates
the bus correctly for the video signal. Experiment to determine the optimum
compromise to provide best overall vision from all the entrance panels in the
system.
ASSIGNING IDENTIFICATION
The ID (entrance panel identification code) is assigned by means of 4 DIP-
switches in the bottom left-hand corner of the camera (see Fig. 6). Each
entrance panel in the same system must have a different identification code.
The correlation between the position
of the DIP-switches and the identifier is shown in table 1. Table 1
ENTRANCE PANEL ID
NOT ASSIGNE= TEST/ID DANS EEPROM
As you can see, Type 692U can never be programmed as MASTER entrance panel.
Position 1 is used for factory testing.

* BUS TERMINATION
This note applies to all devices with Due Fili Plus technology equipped with
“BUS termination connector or dipswitch”, which is identified by the screen-
printed letters
“ABC” and marked on the wiring diagrams with.
For correct adaptation of the line, make the setting according to the
following rule:
Maintain position “A” if the BUS enters and exits from the device; Move to
position “B” (if Elvox cable) or to position “C” (if CAT5 twisted pair cable)
if the BUS line terminates in the device itself.
“A” = NO TERMINATION
“B” = TERMINATION 100 ohm
“C” = TERMINATION 50 ohm
INSTALLATIONS WITH PASSIVE DISTRIBUTOR 692D (DIN rail version)
ALWAYS use output 1 on distributor type 692D (the only one that has no
termination jumper).
For termination of type 692D: If outputs “OUT”, “2”, “3” or “4” are not used,
KEEP the jumper on the “TOUT”, “T2”, “T3” or “T4” connector. The default
“TOUT” connector is in the “100” position (Elvox cable), position it to “50”
only if using a CAT5 twisted pair cable.
INSTALLATIONS WITH ACTIVE DISTRIBUTOR 692D/2.
The termination jumper must be positioned on “B” (for Elvox cable) or on “C”
(for CAT5 twisted pair cable) IF AND ONLY IF the BUS terminates at the device
itself. It must be left on “A” if effecting entry-exit using terminals 1-2 on
692D/2.
