Telephone interface for Due Fili Plus entryphones and video entryphones

Description

The telephone interface 40164 allows you to forward Due Fili Plus video door entry calls to a remote telephone or to an internal telephone with the aid of a telephone switchboard.
It is also designed for the self-starting of the main entrance panel, to open the lock on the entrance panel or to control relays.
Its power supply is from the BUS and it communicates with the Due Fili Plus system, whereas the telephone output can be connected to an analog telephone line (PSTN and  Fibre Router) or an indoor station of a telephone switchboard (BCA or FXS port).
N.B.: the indoor station of the telephone switchboard to which the interface is connected must be disabled from receiving and making calls with the external line.
The telephone interface can only be installed in a vertical Due Fili Plus BUS and it has the same installation restrictions as any Due Fili Plus indoor station.
It envisages three operating modes depending on the requirements:

STANDARD (Default)
In this mode, the interface can manage between 1 and 4 homes.
The interface presumes that the IDs assigned to the master indoor station go from 1 to 4; if this is not the case, see the chapters on the manual assignment of IDs.
For each home, calls can be routed to a maximum of 10 different telephone numbers.
Several telephone interfaces can be installed in the same video door entry system.

EXTENDED
In this mode, the interface can manage between 5 and a maximum of 40 homes.
The IDs of the master devices must under all circumstances be programmed in sequence from 1 to 40.
For each home, calls can be routed to a max of 1 telephone number.

SWITCHBOARD
In this mode, the interface can be placed beside a switchboard 40510 to forward the Video door entry call to a telephone.

Installation

Install the video door entry system and check it is working properly.

  • Secure 40164 to a DIN-rail mounting frame.
  • Cut off the electrical power supply to the video door entry system.
  • Connect the “Line” terminals to an internal tap-off (N) of the telephone switchboard or directly to the telephone line.
  • Connect the BUS terminals to the 2 fili bus of the video door entry system.
  • If the device is connected to the end of the bus, set the impedance accordingly using the dip switches.
  • Power the entryphone system and make sure the blue LED lights up intermittently (every 4 s).

Operating modes

3.1 STANDARD mode
STANDARD mode is the Default mode of the interface. In this mode, the interface works with the IDs of Indoor Stations from 1 to 4.
If the IDs of the system are not from 1 to 4 please refer to paragraph 5.9 for programming the dedicated ID.
Associating the first “main” home telephone (also see paragraph 5.11a)
If the interface is connected directly to the telephone line, from an external telephone we call the telephone number of the line to which the interface is connected and wait for the three confirmation tones.
If the interface is connected to a switchboard, lift a handset and call the indoor station where the interface is connected. Wait for the three short answer tones from the interface.

At this stage:

  • Enter the code 888 28 1 (1 is the ID of the indoor station) followed by the telephone number to re-route the call to
  • Wait for the confirmation tone (after approx. 5”)
  • To associate a telephone to the second ID, enter the code 888 28 2 followed by the telephone number to re-route the call to
  • Continue with the other associations

Note: The telephone number can either be an external number or that of an indoor station.
To associate other “secondary” telephones, see paragraph 5.11b.
If an error is made or no confirmation tones are received during programming, simply recall the interface and resume programming from the last code executed.

3.2 EXTENDED mode
In this mode, the IDs of the master devices must under all circumstances be programmed in sequence from 1 to 40.
In this mode, the interface automatically recognizes all the IDs.
Programming the EXTENDED mode and associating a telephone
If the interface is connected directly to the telephone line, from an external telephone we call the telephone number of the line to which the interface is connected and wait for the three confirmation tones.
If the interface is connected to a switchboard, lift a handset and call the indoor station where the interface is connected. Wait for the three short answer tones from the interface.
At this stage, configure the interface in the extended mode:

  • Enter the code 888 78 1 1 4 to activate the ‘EXTENDED’ mode and wait for the confirmation tone

Associate the main telephone

  • To program the telephone number associated with home 1 with ID1, type in code 888 30 01 ‘telephone number’ and wait for 5” before listening to the confirmation tone To program the telephone number associated with home 2 with ID2, type in code 888 30 02 ‘telephone number’ and wait for 5” before listening to the confirmation tone.
  • Continue with the other associations

N.B.: The telephone number can either be an external number or that of an indoor station.
If an error is made or no confirmation tones are received during programming, simply recall the interface and resume programming from the last code executed.

3.3 SWITCHBOARD mode
By combining the interface 40164 with a telephone switchboard 40510 entryphone calls can be managed directly from telephones.
Programming the SWITCHBOARD mode and associating a telephone
If the interface is connected directly to the telephone line, from an external telephone we call the telephone number of the line to which the interface is connected and wait for  the three confirmation tones.
If the interface is connected to a switchboard, lift a handset and call the indoor station where the interface is connected. Wait for the three short answer tones from the interface.
At this stage, configure the interface in the switchboard mode, configuring it with ID 202. Should this ID already be occupied by a 40510, you will have to use different  numbering (the numbers possible on the Due Fili system are 201- 202 – 203 – 204)

  • Enter the code 888 74 0 202 to activate the ‘SWITCHBOARD’ mode and wait for the confirmation tone
    Indicate to the interface with which ID of Switchboard 40510 to interface (e.g. 201)

  • Enter the code 888 76 0 201 and wait for the three confirmation tones Associate the main telephone

  • Enter the code 888 28 1 followed by the telephone number to re-route the call to

Note: The telephone number can either be an external number or that of an indoor station.
To associate other “secondary” telephones, see paragraph 5.11b.

User guide

4.1 Answering an incoming call from the video/entryphone system

  • When a call arrives, raise the handset or press the answer push button
  • To activate voice communication press the * key
  • Press the # key to open the door
  • Continue the call or hang up

4.2 Activating Controls
During a call, type in the control code M followed by #
The default control codes are:

  • 2 – activates the master entrance panel lock
  • 3 – activates the relay with ID1
  • 4 – activates the relay with ID2
  • 5 – activates the relay with ID3
  • 6 – activates the relay with ID4
  • 7: activates function F1 for the master entrance panel
  • 8: activates function F2 for the master entrance panel
  • 9 – Ends the call

To activate a control without a call in progress, proceed as follows:
Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
Type in the control code M followed by #
The default control codes are:

  • Code 11: Self-start of master entrance panel
  • Code 12: activates the master entrance panel lock
  • Code 13: activates the relay with ID1
  • Code 14: activates the relay with ID2
  • Code 15: activates the relay with ID3
  • Code 16: activates the relay with ID4
  • Code 17: activates function F1 for the master entrance panel
  • Code 18: activates function F2 for the master entrance panel
    The default codes can be added or changed, see the dedicated chapter (5.12)

4.3 Call transfer (only in Switchboard mode)

  • When you receive an entryphone call, answer from the telephone and activate communication with the “*” key
  • Put the call on hold by pressing the “*” key again
  • To transfer the call to another indoor station, type in the ID code of the desired indoor station followed by the “*” key
  • Wait for it to answer and to transfer the call hang up the telephone or press the “*” key
  • If the recipient does not want the call to be transferred, wait for them to hang up and press “*” to resume the call

Extended PROGRAMMING

Before programming, make sure the entryphone system is independently operated. For programming, the interface 40164 must be connected either to a BCA indoor station  (FXS) of a telephone switchboard or to a telephone line (PSTN or Fibre Router). The telephone you wish to use for programming must envisage the DTMF tone selection and must be connected either to the same system as the 40164 or to a telephone line authorized to make external calls.
After entering programming mode, if more than 5 seconds have past since the last digit was entered, the 40164 quits programming mode and generates an error tone (except in the case of telephone number saving).
When in standby state, the blue LED flashes every 4 seconds, whereas during programming or during a call, the blue LED flashes quickly; if the blue LED continues to flash quickly outside these two situations, then wait for it to return to flashing every 4 seconds.
By default the interface has the following settings:

  • STANDARD mode
  • Recognition of line tones with European standard (425Hz)
  • Pause time before telephone numbers begin to be dialed 1 second
  • Call button 1 associated with address 55 and group 1
  • Call button 2 associated with address 56 and group 2
  • Call button 3 associated with address 57 and group 3
  • Call button 4 associated with address 58 and group 4
  • Manual answer for all 4 call buttons
  • Control 1: Self-start of master entrance panel
  • Control 2: activates the master entrance panel lock
  • Control 3: activates the relay with ID1
  • Control 4: activates the relay with ID2
  • Control 5: activates the relay with ID3
  • Control 6: activates the relay with ID4
  • Control 7: activates function F1 for the master entrance panel
  • Control 8: activates function F2 for the master entrance panel
  • Control 9 envisages the forced disconnection of communication

5.1 Resetting the programming and the telephone numbers (888 90 400)

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
  • Type in 888 90 400
  • Listen to the sequence of 3 brief tones, then hang up the telephone or continue programming.
  • If you can’t hear the 3 brief tones, hang up the telephone and repeat from point 1

At the end of programming, the interface will prove programmed with the default settings.
5.2 Resetting the programming except for telephone numbers (888 90 000)

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
  • Type in 888 90 000
  • Listen to the sequence of 3 brief tones, then hang up the telephone or continue programming.
  • If you can’t hear the 3 brief tones, hang up the telephone and repeat from point 1

At the end of programming, the interface will prove programmed with the default settings but it will retain the memory of the telephone numbers associated with the  STANDARD mode.

5.3 Restart (888 913)
To turn off the interface and restart it, you can use this programming code and avoid turning off the power supply from the bus.

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, and wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
  • Type in 888 913
  • Wait for the communication to be interrupted and hang up the phone.

5.4 Door opening control management method (888 99 1/0 6)
The interface can be set so that following a door opening control (key #) the entryphone and telephone communication is automatically interrupted.
To enable or disable the automatic interruption mode, proceed as follows:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 99.
  • Type in 1 to activate automatic hang-up or 0 to return to standard mode
  • Type in 6
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to a new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.5 Number of rings before answering an incoming call from the telephone line (888 62 SQ)
Programming makes it possible to define the number of rings before the interface answers a telephone call. This function is useful when the interface is connected directly to a  telephone system in the absence of a telephone switchboard, for instance during programming.

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 62
  • Type in the number of rings SQ (from 0 to 9) you wish to configure
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.6 Wait time before dialing a telephone number (888 85 T)
When the interface is connected to a telephone switchboard, it may be necessary to envisage a prolonged wait time before you start dialing telephone numbers.
This programming makes it possible to define the wait time before you start dialing telephone numbers (default 1).

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 85
  • Type in the code corresponding to the pause seconds before you start dialing telephone numbers from 1 to 9.
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.

At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming using the new password or hang up the telephone.

5.7 Manual or automatic answer (888 75 C 1/0)
By default, the interface is in manual answer mode, which means that both the Indoor Station and the interfaced telephone ring simultaneously.
In automatic mode, after a short ring of the indoor station, the call is routed only to the Telephone.
N.B.: in this mode, the call tones towards the telephone will be heard at the entrance panel until it is answered.
N.B.: in the EXTENDED mode, all homes inherit the setting of the first call button C=1 and cannot be diversified.
To program the manual or automatic answer, proceed as follows:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 75.
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you want to configure.
  • Type in 1 to activate the manual answer or 0 for the automatic answer.
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.

At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.8 Changing the interface address
The default interface occupies IDs 55/56/57/58 in Standard mode (888 74 C PPP).
If these IDs already exist in the system, the default interface ones can be changed as follows:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the wall tone and the subsequent three brief tones
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 74
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you want to configure
  • Type in the 3-digit address PPP of the call button from 001 to 200 (numbering of 2F).
  • The interface queries the bus three times in search of another peripheral device with the same PPP. The query takes place three times every 5 seconds and emits a beep for  every query. If no other device with the same ID (PPP) is found, three brief tones in rapid sequence will be emitted after 15 seconds. If a device with the same ID (PPP)  answers during the query, you will hear a long tone and a brief tone.

At the end of the operations, proceed directly to a new programming or hang up the telephone.
The default interface occupies IDs from 41 to 80 in the Extended mode (888 87 C PPP).
If these IDs already exist in the system, the default interface ones can be changed as follows:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent three brief tones.
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 87
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 01 to 40) you want to configure
  • Type in the 3-digit address PPP of the call button from 001 to 200 (numbering of 2F).
  • The interface queries the bus three times in search of another peripheral device with the same PPP. The query takes place three times every 5 seconds and emits a beep for every query. If no other device with the same ID (PPP) is found, three brief tones in rapid sequence will be emitted after 15 seconds. If a device with the same ID (PPP)  answers during the query, you will hear a long tone and a brief tone.

At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.9 Master addresses (888 76 C I)
Only for the STANDARD mode if the master IDs are not from 1 to 4 the interface can be modified by indicating the IDs present in the system manually.

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, and wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 76
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you want to configure.
  • Type in the address I from 001 to 200
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.10 Auto-acquisition of the master address (888 72 C)
For the STANDARD mode only, when you want to install the interface in an existing system whose ID addresses you do not know, this procedure can be used to acquire the address automatically.

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, and wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 72
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you want to configure
  • Press the door release button on the Entryphone (master) or make a call from the entrance panel.
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.11 Programming telephone numbers
5.11a Main telephone numbers “in Standard and Switchboard mode” (888 28 C N)
The main telephone number can be associated with each call button C to call an internal tap-off of the telephone switchboard or a group of indoor stations or a fixed or mobile telephone line directly.
Each telephone number can consist of a maximum of 16 digits and each digit can be between 0 and 9 or ‚*‘ and ‚#‘.

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 28
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you want to configure
  • Type in the external telephone number, the internal tap-off N (e.g. 21/22/…), or the group Gr of indoor stations (e.g. 440/441/…)
  • When you have finished typing in the number, wait for at least 5“ and for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a
  • brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.11b Secondary telephone numbers (888 29 C I N)
In STANDARD mode, for every call button ‘C‘ you can associate another 9 different telephone numbers in addition to the main telephone number. During a call, if the first  number called is busy, the interface will call the next number. The call sequence ends when the answer is confirmed or at the end of the numbers envisaged in the memory or at  the end of the time-outs envisaged by the entryphone system.
Note: Normally the entrance panels are configured to wait a maximum of 30” after the entryphone call within which the entryphone must answer. When the 30” are over, the  entrance panel interrupts the call and consequently the interface ends the sequence of calls. Considering the minimum time frames necessary to forward a telephone call, the 30”  time is insufficient when several numbers to call in sequence are envisaged, and so the wait to answer timeout for the entrance panels needs to be extended (please refer to  the specific manuals).
To use the secondary numbers during an entryphone call, the function must be enabled with code 888 78 1 C 6 where ‘C’ indicates the call button (1, 2, 3 or 4).
In these cases, the automatic answer function must be deactivated.

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the wall tone and the subsequent three brief tones
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 29
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you want to configure
  • Type in the index referring to the sub-address I (from 1 to 9).
  • Type in the external telephone number, the internal tap-off N (e.g. 21/22/…), or the group Gr of indoor stations (e.g. 440/441/…)
  • Wait at least 5“ after you type in the last digit and for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.11c Main telephone numbers “in Extended mode” (888 30 C N)
A main telephone number can be associated with each call button C to call an internal tap-off of the telephone switchboard or a group of indoor stations or a fixed or mobile telephone line directly.
Each telephone number can consist of a maximum of 16 digits and each digit can be between 0 and 9 or ‚*‘ and ‚#‘.

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, and wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 30
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 01 to 40) you want to configure
  • Type in the external telephone number, the internal tap-off N (e.g. 21/22/…) or the group Gr of indoor stations (e.g. 440/441/…)
  • When you have finished typing in the number, wait for at least 5“ and for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a
  • brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.12 Controls (888 77 M A PPP G)
In addition to managing entryphone calls, the interface envisages the management of M controls.
The controls can be activated directly during an entryphone communication or not.
Up to a maximum of 40 controls are envisaged, associated with codes from 10 to 49 respectively.
The interface has the following default control configurations:

  • Code 11: Self-start of master entrance panel
  • Code 12: activates the master entrance panel lock
  • Code 13: activates the relay with ID1
  • Code 14: activates the relay with ID2
  • Code 15: activates the relay with ID3
  • Code 16: activates the relay with ID4
  • Code 17: activates function F1 for the master entrance panel
  • Code 18: activates function F2 for the master entrance panel
  • Code 19: close call

N.B.: During a call, the first 10 controls can also be activated using only keys 0 to 9 followed by #.
For the STANDARD mode only, 10 dedicated or common controls can be assigned to the 4 homes. To do this, you need to enable the control password (see paragraph below).
Each control can be associated with one of the following functions:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 77
  • Type in the number of the control M (from 10 to 49) you wish to configure
  • Type in the type of control A
  • Type in the address of the outdoor station or of the relay PPP
  • Type in 0
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.

At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.
PASSWORD TO ACCESS THE CONTROLS (888 84 C PPP)
In STANDARD mode, 4 different passwords can be associated for each call button, allowing only those who know them to use the M controls.

To define a password:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the 40164 is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief  tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 84
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you want to configure.
  • Type in the password consisting of 4 digits PPPP (# and * are not permitted)
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to a new programming

Once you have defined the passwords, you can activate or deactivate their use for each single call button:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the 40164 is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief  tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 78
  • Type in code 1 (to activate) 0 (to deactivate)
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4).
  • Type in the confirmation code 5
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to a new program.

When the password is active, at the time of activating a control, you first need to type in the password followed by # and then type in the code of the control followed by #.

5.13 Control groups
Groups make it possible to activate several controls (M) simultaneously via a brief code.
The interface envisages up to 8 groups which can be associated with several controls.
Each control can be associated with several groups.
Associating a Group with a Control number

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 77
  • Type in the number of the control M (from 10 to 49) you wish to configure
  • Type in the confirmation code 8
  • Type in the code of the group from 001 to 008

Associating a Control with a Group

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the 40164 is connected on a telephone, and wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 42
  •  Type in the index referred to the group G (from 1 to 8, 0 = deletes the association of the control) you wish to configure
  • Type in the two-digit control code M (from 10 to 49).

Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.14 Events (888 81 E M T PPP 1)
The controls can be managed automatically if and when certain events occur, such as the ‘door open/closed, ‘state of an actuator, and entryphone call.
To associate an event E with the control M or with a group S, proceed as follows:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number of the indoor station where the interface is connected to a telephone, and wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 81
  • Type in the index of the event E from 0 to 9
  • Type in the code of the control M from 10 to 49 you wish to associate.
  • Type in the code of the type of event T:

5.15 Delayed answer for entryphone calls (888 79 C T)
On arrival of an entryphone call, the interface may delay the answer, up to a maximum of 45 seconds, to give you the chance to answer from the entryphones present in the system. When the delay is up, the interface hooks up to the telephone line and transfers the entryphone call to the default number.
A different delay can be defined for each call button, between 0 and 45 seconds in 5-second steps (default 0 s).
To associate the call button C with the delay time T, proceed as follows:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the 40164 is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief  tones)
  • Type in code 888
  • Type in programming code 79.
  • Type in the index referred to the call button C (from 1 to 4) you wish to configure.
  • Type in the delay time T from 0 to 9 (e.g. 1 = 5 s, 2= 10 s, etc.)
  • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.
    At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

5.16 Telephone line tones (888 83 T F1 F2 D)
The interface automatically recognizes the interruption of telephone communication or when the telephone number called is busy based on the tones present in the line and the configuration of the telephone line parameters is used to define the frequencies of the line tones envisaged in the various international standards and their minimum duration.
For instance, in Europe line tones envisage a frequency of 425Hz whereas in the United States of America, they consist of a 480Hz tone and a 620Hz tone.
The definition of the minimum duration (T) of the tones and the maximum difference (D) between the duration of the tone and the pause that make up the busy signal is necessary for cases of lines with interference or in the presence of echoes; generally, the more interference there is on the line, the longer the minimum recognition duration.
To define the parameters of the telephone line, proceed as follows:

  • Call the internal tap-off or the telephone number where the interface is connected on a telephone, wait for the call tone and the subsequent brief tones (three repeated brief  tones)

  • Type in code 888

  • Type in programming code 83

  • Type in the code corresponding to the minimum time:
    0 = 40ms
    1 = 80ms
    2 = 120ms
    3 = 160ms
    4 = 200ms
    5 = 240ms

  • Type in the code corresponding to the minimum frequency:
    0 = 300Hz
    1 = 325Hz
    2 = 350Hz
    3 = 375Hz
    4 = 400Hz
    5 = 425Hz
    6 = 450Hz
    7 = 475Hz
    8 = 500Hz
    9 = 600Hz

  • Type in the code corresponding to the maximum frequency:
    0 = 325Hz
    1 = 350Hz
    2 = 375Hz
    3 = 400Hz
    4 = 425Hz
    5 = 450Hz
    6 = 475Hz
    7 = 500Hz
    8 = 525Hz
    9 = 700Hz

  • Type in the code corresponding to the maximum difference recognized between the tone duration and the pause duration:
    0 = 200ms
    1 = 320ms
    2 = 400ms
    3 = 520ms
    4 = 600ms
    5 = 720ms
    6 = 800ms
    7 = 920ms
    8 = 1000ms
    9 = 1120ms

  • • Wait for the three confirmation tones otherwise if you hear a brief tone and a long tone this means that programming has not been accepted.

At the end of the operations, proceed directly to new programming or hang up the telephone.

  • By default, the interface is configured to manage European tones 888 83 3 1 6 1.
  • For instance, in the United States of America, programming is 888 83 2 3 8 6.
