Product Usage Instructions
Connecting Your Bass Guitar:
For passive bass guitars, use the 0dB input with a shielded instrument
cable. For active bass guitars, use the -15dB input. Ensure a secure
connection to avoid signal loss.
Adjusting Gain and Master Controls:
Use the Gain control in conjunction with your instrument’s volume to set
the input level. Adjust the Master control for the overall listening level and
to control the Line Out signal amplitude.
Tone Control with Style, Treble, Ultra Mid, and Bass:
The Style switch offers five-tone settings. Experiment with combinations of
Style, Treble, Ultra Mid, and Bass controls to customize your sound based on
the TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS provided in the manual.
Utilizing Additional Features:
- CD Input: Connect a CD player or tape deck using RCA jacks to play along with tracks. Adjust the player’s volume for output control.
- Headphones: Plug in headphones to practice silently without using the internal speaker.
- Line Out: Connect to a soundboard, recording unit, or external amplifier for further amplification or recording.
Powering On and Off:
Use the Power switch to turn the amplifier on or off. The ON LED will
indicate when the amplifier is powered on.

Q: What should I do if the amplifier shows signs of malfunction?
A: In case of any issues or malfunctions, do not attempt to open the amplifier
as it contains no user-serviceable parts. Contact qualified service personnel
for assistance.

- 0dBINPUT: Connect your “passive” bass guitar here using a shielded instrument cable. This input is not padded and is best suited for basses without active electronics or “hot” pickups.
- -15dBINPUT: Connect your “active” bass here using a shielded instrument cable. This input is padded 15dB and isb best suited for basses with active electronics and/or “hot” pickups.
- GAIN: Use this control in conjunction with your instrument’s volume controls tov adjust the level of the signal sent to the preamp.
- MASTER: Use this control to adjust the overall listening level of the amplifier. This control is also used to adjust the signal level at the Line Out jack (#11).
- STYLE: This five-position switch is used to control the tone of the amplifier. Please refer to the TECHNICAL SPECS- FICATIONS on the back page of this manual for an explanation of the function of each position. Experiment with the Style and other eq controls (#6,7,8) for the results that suit you best.
- TREBLE: This control is used in con- junction with the style control to adjust the high-frequency level of the amplifier.
- ULTRA MID: This control is used in conjunction with the style control to adjust the midrange level of the amplifier.
- BASS: This control is used in con- junction with the style control to adjust the low-frequency level of the amplifier.
- CDINPUT: These jacks (RCA type) are used to connect the line level (or headphones) output of a CD player or tape deck. The inputs to these jacks are summed into a mono signal which is fed into the BA115 just before its power amplifier. Use the volume control on the CD or tape player to control the output level.
- HEADPHONES: The internal speaker is disconnected when the headphones jack is used.
- LINEOUT: This jack supplies a poster, balanced line-level signal for connecting to a house sound board, recording unit or external amplifier. The amplitude of this signal is adjusted by the Master control (#4).
- ONLED: This LED is illuminated when the amplifier is plugged in and turned on.
- POWER: This switch is used to turn the amplifier on or off.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS AND PRECAUTIONS:
All Ampeg products are designed for continuous safe operation. Abiding by the following rules can help prevent damage to your amplifier, yourself and others.
- The amplifier is equipped with a three-pronged AC power cord. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, NEVER remove or otherwise attempt to defeat the ground pin of the power cord.
- Connect the amplifier ONLY to a properly grounded AC outlet of the proper voltage for your amp.
- Avoid sudden temperature extremes, rain and moisture. Also, avoid sudden and intense impact. (If the unit has been subjected to any of the pre-ceding abuses, have it looked at by an authorized service centre.)
- NEVER set the amplifier on a support that will not bear its weight.
- Always keep the total speaker impedance at or above the rated load.
- Unplug the amplifier before cleaning it. NEVER spray liquid cleaners onto the amplifier. Wipe it with a slightly dampened, lint-free cloth to remove dirt and film.
- DO NOT use the amplifier if it has sustained damage to the chassis, controls, or power cord. Refer the unit to an authorized service centre for inspection.
- Prolonged exposure to high volume levels may cause permanent hearing loss or damage. Such damage is progressive and irreversible!
