Mounting Hardware Installation
1. Identify the hardware mounting locations based on the provided photos.
2. Depending on the VR6 block, determine the necessary hardware to use.
3. Use the shortest bolt with the aluminum spacer insert for 24v and 3.6 blocks.
4. Install the longer bolt and nut through the hole without threads on the alternator top.
5. Thread the bottom bolt into the alternator itself.

INSTALLATION PROCESS
DISCONNECT BATTERY
- UNBOLT 13MM NUT FROM ALTERNATOR POWER CABLE
- UNBOLT VR6 ALTERNATOR AND POWER STEERING PUMP IF STILL EQUIPPED.
- ALTERNATOR IS HELD ON WITH EITHER 13MM OR 8MM HEX BOLTS.
- ONCE REMOVED THEY ARE BOTH NO LONGER NEEDED.
- REMOVE OEM BRACKET FROM BLOCK USING 8MM HEX SOCKET.
- INSTALL NEW BILLET BRACKET WITH FLAT SIDE FACING THE CRANK PULLEY.
- THE TOP BOLT IS A LONG BOLT WITH NUT.
- THE BOTTOM IS A THREADED BOLT HOLE. BOTH BOLTS INSERT FROM THE CRANK PULLEY SIDE INWARDS.
- REUSING THE OEM CHARGING CABLE AND BOLT TO THE SINGLE POLE WITH NUT ON THE ALTERNATOR.
- THIS ALTERNATOR REQUIRES NOTHING ELSE TO EXCITE OR WORK. THE RPM OF THE ENGINE IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED TO CHARGE.
- IN SOME CASES IF THE ENGINE IDLE IS SET TOO LOW THE ALTERNATOR WILL NOT CHARGE. MAKE SURE THE IDLE IS SET HIGH ENOUGH TO CHARGE THE BATTERY TYPICALLY 850 RPM OR HIGHER IS BEST.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Hardware mounting locations are as follows in the photos. Depending on which
VR6 block you are mounting to you may not need to use all the hardware. The
shortest bolt will be installed in the hole with the aluminum spacer insert
installed.
That one is used on 24v and 3.6 blocks.
On the alternator install the longer bolt and nut through the hole without threads. this one will be on top. The bolt for the bottom will thread into the alternator itself.
