- On both front frame rails are 2 bolts with nuts holding the front bumper on.
Remove the bolts using a 17mm socket and a wrench holding the nut on the inside of the frame rail.
When all four bolts have been removed the front bumper will come free. Leave the front bumper on and slip the front cross member brace in.
It can be installed from the bottom if there is an engine in-place. if the engine is out from the top is fine.
Included in the kit are 2 long spacers. these are not required for install but used in some cases when the frame rails have been tweaked or widened. each mk1 is different due to age wear and tear. If there is a big gap between the rails the spacers can be used.
Also if there front engine mount cup is still bolted into the front cross member remove the mount. the mount will bolt in after the front brace is installed.
