INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Remove all the packing material and take out the electric kettle with the stand. Remove all possible adhesion foils, stick-on labels or paper from the appliance. Before the first use, fill the electric kettle with clean water to the maximum level, turn it on and let the water boil. Then pour out the water and repeat the procedure several times (at least five times).

APPLICATIONS
Unwind the necessary length of the power cord B2 from the storage space of the stand B. Place the stand on a suitable surface, in the height of about 85 cm, out of reach of children and incapacitated persons and plug the fork of the power cord to the electric socket (kettle beeps). Hold the kettle A on the handle A2. Open the lid A3 by pressing the lock button A4. Fill the kettle with drinking water. The minimum and maximum amount of water is marked on the water gauge A1. Close the lid by snapping. Put the electric kettle on the stand a beep will sound, the display backlight will light up, and the power switch button B3 will be blinking for several seconds). Turn on the kettle by pressing the button (the red indicator light will turn on). Set the required temperature using buttons (+ increase; – decrease). Short press will change tens of °C, long press will change units of °C. Please wait a moment after the temperature has been set (do not press any button), and heating will automatically start.

Please consider the following tips as examples and inspiration not intended to provide complete instructions, but just to show the possibilities of heating of various liquids. Water temperatures are only approximate and may vary according to personal taste, quantity, type, quality and age of the used tea, coffee, etc.

  • 40 °C = infant formula milk,
  • 50 °C = baby foods
  • 60 °C = hot beverages,
  • 70 °C = green teas,
  • 80 °C = white teas,
  • 90 °C = oolong teas, coffee, instant drinks, soups,
  • 100 °C = black, herbal teas.

If you perform no action within several seconds after pressing B3 button, heating to the temperature shown on display will automatically start (after the first on-switching, to 100 °C, then according to the last setting, provided the kettle was not disconnected from the mains in the meantime). Once the water reaches the preset temperature, heating will stop and the appliance will automatically switch off (3 beeps will sound, and the display will turn off).

Note: If you are going to heat up water to a low temperature (40 or 50 °C), it is necessary to have at least 0.7 litre of water in the kettle to reach the preset temperature more accurately. In the case of a lower volume, the actual temperature may exceed the preset temperature.

Before reaching the set water temperature, the appliance can be switched off „manually“ by repeated pressing the respective button B3 (the control light will go out). Always use fresh drinking water for boiling. The temperature and time heating depends on the amount of water and the initial temperature of water. For the correct temperature setting, follow the manufacturers‘ instructions that are described on food packages (e.g. tea, coffee, instant drinks, soaps, etc.).

Temperature maintenance feature
If you need to heat up water to a required temperature and to maintain the temperature at the preset level, set the required temperature by buttons and press the temperature maintenance button (before or after the temperature setting). After some delay, button backlight will start blinking, and warm-up icon will appear above the set temperature. Once the preset temperature is achieved, the kettle will beep 3 times (the power switch button backlight B3 will remain blue, and the temperature  maintenance button B4 will be blinking). The function may be cancelled during the heating process by pressing B4 button. The kettle maintains the set temperature for 120 minutes, then beeps and turns off (the backlight turns off). When pressing the temperature maintenance button, the kettle keeps maintaining the set temperature.

Note

  • The current water temperature in °C is shown at the lower part of the display.
  • The control on the stand does not work without the kettle on it.
  • Lifting the kettle off the stand cancels all the set functions.
  • If you set a temperature lower than the current water temperature, 3 beeps will sound and the kettle will switch off. However if you press the temperature maintenance button B4 while setting a temperature lower than the current one, the beeps will sound too, and the kettle will maintain the temperature at the preset level (i.e. the appliance will wait until the water temperature drops down to the preset value, and will maintain it).
  • The selected water temperature may be changed during the heating process by setting it to another value.
  • If you are preparing food for very young children (e.g. to 40 or 50 °C), the water must be heated to a boil (100 °C) first. Wait until the water cools down and check its temperature before serving. The recommended safe temperature food for children is max. 40 °C.

Note

  • Please make sure that the sieve and the sieve cover are properly fixed to the upper part of the kettle and cannot fall down on the heated bottom of the kettle!
  • If unusual symbols appear on the display, disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply and then reconnect it.
  • Recommendation: When the kettle is not used, do not place it on the stand connected to the mains. If you are going not to use the kettle for a long time, unplug the power cord from the wall socket.

MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance from power supply by taking the fork of the power cord out of the socket! Clean the kettle only when it is cooled down! Do not use rough and aggressive detergents (e.g. sharp objects, scrapers, diluting agents or other solvents)! The casing of the electric kettle and the heating bottom is made of top-quality stainless steel, but in common use, impurities from water get stuck on them (water scale), particularly above the heating element. It is not rust or another material defect of the kettle container.

Cleaning the kettle
Pour about 50 g citric acid to the kettle with the water scale sediment. Fill the kettle to about one half and mix. After it dissolves, fill the kettle to 3/4 of the maximum amount of water. Place the electric kettle on the stand and turn it on. Before boiling, turn off the kettle, let the solution take effect for about 10 minutes and then pour it out. Clean the kettle thoroughly with clean water. Repeat the whole procedure if the kettle is too soiled. Clean the electric kettle regularly!

Cleaning the sieve (A5)
Take the sieve from the kettle. Clean it from possible sediments in running water using a fine brush. Then put the sieve back in the opposite way.
