Installation NOTE
- This kit will relocate the rear camera from the tailgate to above the license plate, the view of the camera and guidelines will differ from factory view.
- The view from the camera will be dependent on the location of the top license plate bolts on the bumper you are installing the mount on.
Tools required
- 5/64” Hex Drive
- 1/8” Hex Drive
- 1/16” Hex Drive
- 5/16” Socket or Wrench
- 3/8” Wrench
- T30 Torx Bit

Installation
Step 1:
- With the tailgate open, use a T30 Torx bit to remove the rear camera access panel from the tailgate. Unplug and remove the camera housing from the tailgate
Step 2:
- Carefully remove the camera wire from the factory wire loom. Only remove a portion of the wire until the plug can reach to the top of the license plate. Pull the wire out of the tailgate and run it down to the top of the license plate.
Step 3:
- Using a 1/16” hex drive, remove the three screws holding the camera in the camera housing. Make sure to keep the camera in the same orientation as you remove it.
Step 4:
- Place the camera into the inner brace first and then place the camera and brace into the new camera bracket. Secure the camera into the bracket with the provide #10-24 bolt and nylock nut. Press the inner brace up against the camera while tightening to ensure the camera has minimal movement within the bracket. We recommended using anti-seize on stainless steel hardware.
Step 5:
- Plug the camera back in and mount the new bracket using the top two bolts holding the license plate on the vehicle. Make sure the wire is not pinched and the bracket is centered
Step 6:
- Take the front cover plate with the Barnes 4WD logo on it and a gasket and place the three provided #6-32 bolts through each hole of the plate and gasket. Place the plate and gasket on the outside of the tailgate where the camera mounted with the bolts going through the hole in the tailgate.
Step 7:
- Take the back plate and the other gasket and place it on the inside of the tailgate, going through the bolt holes. Using the provided #6-32 nylock nuts, secure the two plates against the tailgate. Make sure the plate is centered and level on the tailgate. Using the T30 Torx, reinstall the rear camera access panel back on the inside of the tailgate.
