INTRODUCTION
This portable band saw is great for professional and home-cutting jobs,
including cutting metal and a variety of other workpieces.
SAFETY

WORK AREA
- Operate in a state work environment. Keep your work area clean, well-lit, and free of distractions. Place lights so you are not working in a shadow.
- Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away from the tool and the work area.
- Store unused tools properly in a safe and dry location to prevent rust or damage. Lock tools away and keep them out of the reach of children.
- Do not install or use it in the presence of flammable gases, dust, or liquids.
- Always ensure the tool is secured to a sturdy, level bench before operating. Check for secure mounting before each use.
PERSONAL SAFETY
WARNING! Wear personal protective equipment approved by the Canadian
Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07 or ANSI Z87.1 standards based on the type of work performed.

Wear the appropriate type of full-face shield in addition to safety goggles, as the work can create chips, abrasive or particulate matter.

Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or reduce the effects of tool vibration.

Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tools.

Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the work environment.

Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot injury from falling objects.

This tool can cause hearing damage. Wear hearing protection gear with an appropriate Noise Reduction Rating to withstand the decibel levels.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement, and the work environment to avoid
personal injury or damage to the tool.
- Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medications.
- Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.
- Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance enable better control in unexpected situations.
- Securely hold this tool using both hands. Using a tool with only one hand can result in loss of control.
- Do not stand on the tool. Serious injury may occur if it is tipped or contacted.
- Never leave the tool running. Ensure the tool has come to a complete stop.
- Keep hands and fingers away from the work area. Any part of the body contacting the tool’s working parts could result in an injury.
- Never operate the tool when the safety guard is removed or broken.
- Never break saw blade by hand.

Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specific function. Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended purpose.

Do not use the tool if any parts are damaged broken or misplaced. Repair or replace the parts.

Only use accessories that are specifically designed for use with the tool, and always ensure the accessory is tightly installed.

Only use an accessory that exceeds the Speed Rating (see Specifications).

Before using the tool on a workpiece, test the tool by running it at the highest Speed Rating for at least 30 seconds in a safe position. Stop immediately if there is any abnormal vibration or wobbling. Check the tool to determine the cause.
a. Running the tool without load will shorten its life. -
Never touch the tool accessory or workpiece during or immediately after use. They may be hot and could inflict a bum injury.

Examine the tool thoroughly before operating.
a. Check for alignment and binding of moving parts.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING! This tool must be grounded while in use to protect against
electrical shock.

Disconnect the tool from the power supply before making any adjustments, changing accessories, cleaning, servicing, or when storing. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.

Use separate electrical circuits for your tools.

Do not expose the tool to rain, snow, frost, or any other damp or wet conditions. Water entering a tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not disconnect the power cord in place of using the power switch. This will prevent accidental start-up when the power cord is plugged into the power supply.
a. In the event of a power failure, unplug the machine as soon as the power is interrupted. The possibility of accidental injury could occur if the power returns. -
Do not alter any parts of the tool or accessories. All parts and accessories are designed with built-in safety features that may be compromised if they are altered.

Make certain the power source meets the requirements of your equipment.

This tool is only for use on 120V (single phase) and is equipped with a three-prong grounded power supply cord and plug (Fig. 1). Check with a qualified electrician if you’re in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. if the tool electronically malfunctions or breaks down, grounding provides a low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user. a. Never remove the grounding prong or modify the plug in any way, as this will render the tool unsafe.
b. Do not use adapter plugs.
c. If the provided plug will not fit the receptacle, have the proper receptacle installed by a qualified electrician. -
Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. The conductor with the green insulation (with or without yellow stripes) is the equipment-grounding conductor. If repair or replacement of the electric cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipment-grounding conductor to the live terminal.

- When using an extension cord, ensure it is heavy enough to carry the current required for the tool. Undersized cords will result in a drop in line voltage and power that will cause overheating. a. Be sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good condition.
b. Protect your extension cords from sharp objects, excessive heat, and damp or wet areas.
c. Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified person before using it.
UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the
missing part before operating. Failure to do so can result in a malfunction
and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.
Make sure that all items in the parts list are included. Make sure that all of
the items in the contents are included. Contents:
- Metal band saw
- Work stop with lock handle
- Feet
- Guide rail with hex nut
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the included Parts List.
- Attach the four feet to the base.
- Secure the tool with the 3 holes on the base. (Fig. 3)
- Screw the guide rail to the threaded hole on the vise base. Tighten the nut.
- Attach the work stop (D) to the guide rail (C) and tighten it.
OPERATION
- Pull the pin (#93) from the hole in the body and tilt the saw to the upper position. (Fig. 4)
- To position, the work stoppage to the appropriate length, loosen the lock handle (#142), set the work stop (#141) at the desired distance, and then tighten the lock handle. (Fig. 5)
- To position, the angle of the blade, loosen the lock handle (#100), turn the swivel support (#102) until the mark matches the desired angle on the scale, and then lock the swivel support. (Fig. 6)
- To adjust the sliding blade guide (#94), loosen the lock handle (#72), adjust the blade guide, and then tighten. (Fig. 7)
- To select the most suitable speed for your job, turn the speed control knob until it marks the desired speed. (Fig. 8)
- Push the power switch to turn the machine on. (Fig. 9)
- Press and hold the run button (#41) to activate the blade. (Fig. 10)
- Gradually lower the machine body until it comes into light contact with your workpiece until the workpiece is cut.
- Release the run button and push the power switch to turn the machine off.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Turn off the tool and disconnect from the power source before conducting any maintenance.
- Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to control, and will have fewer problems.
- Inspect the tool fittings, blade, and power supply cord periodically. Have damaged or worn components repaired or replaced by an authorized technician. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
- Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
- Keep the tool handles clean, dry, and free from oil/grease at all times.
- Check the blade daily to ensure sharpness.
- Maintain the tool’s labels and nameplates. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
- Check power cords routinely and never use them if damaged in any way.
- Use a brush and shop vacuum to remove chips and any other debris from in and around the machine.
- Remove processing residues from the cutting area and blade guide after each use.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.
CHANGING THE BLADE
CAUTION! Always wear protective equipment before changing or working with
the tool’s blade.
- Remove the frame cover (#37) by unscrewing the six screws. (Fig. 11)
- Loosen the blade tension by turning the blade tension knob (#68) in the counter-clockwise direction. (Fig. 11)
- Extract the blade from the guides and then the cast-iron pulleys (#63). Check to make sure the blade teeth are lacing towards the workpiece. (Fig. 12)
- Insert the new blade between the guides and the cast-iron pulleys (#63). (Fig. 12)
- Tighten the blade tension knob (#68). (Fig. 11)
- Replace the frame cover (#37). (Fig. 11)
LUBRICATION
Inspect and lubricate the tool when required. Only use a light oil to
lubricate the tool. Other lubricants may not be suitable and could damage the
tool or cause a malfunction during use.
NOTICE! NEVER use penetrating oil to lubricate the tool. Penetrating oil
may act as a solvent that can break down the grease and cause the tool to
seize up.
STORAGE
When not in use for an extended period, ensure the tool is properly cleaned
and that the blade is slackened. Always store in a dry, safe area.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so. have a qualified technician service the tool.
