Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Disassembly

  • Remove the coil springs, shocks, front bump stops, and cups from the vehicle.
  • Do not discard these parts as they will be reused later.
  • Consider removing the front fenders for easier access in later steps.

Step 2: Preparation

  • Measure and record the location of the gusset on both sides of the frame.
  • Remove factory brackets, grind the area smooth, and remove any paint for new bracket installation.

Step 3: Bracket Installation

  • Fit the shock tower, coil tower, and gusset onto the frame.
  • Adjust as needed and tack weld components together. Repeat for both sides of the frame.

Step 4: Final Welding

Remove bracket assemblies, and finish welding all components together.

Step 5 – 7: Cap and Locator Installation

  • Weld provided nuts into the coil caps, installed front coil spring locators, and welded in place.
  • Finish by placing the nut and cap assembly into the coil spring locator and welding in place.

Step 8: Frame Welding

  • Place welded assemblies back onto the frame, weld in place and paint bare surfaces to prevent rust.

Step 9 – 10: Component Reinstallation

  • Install bump stop cups, bump stops, and any removed components including coil spring isolators.

Completion

  • Congratulations! The installation is now complete.

Installation Notes:

  • This kit is designed to replace the OEM front frame coil and shock tower on the 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ models.
  • Installation of this kit will require cutting, welding, and general metal fabrication skills. This kit should only be installed by properly trained personnel.

Tools required

  • Welding machine with the capability to weld at least 3/16” thick steel.
  • Cutting tool for the removal of the OEM brackets.
  • Grinder for smoothing welds and removing paint for welding.
  • Tape measure.
  • Angle finder.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

Step1:

  • Remove the coil springs and shocks from the front of the vehicle. Remove the front bumpstops and cups that retain them.
  • Do not discard the bump stops, bump stop cups, and coil spring isolator, they will be reused later.
  • While not required the front fenders may be removed to gain easier access for cutting and welding in later steps.

Step 2:

  • Carefully measure the location of the gusset that attaches to the side and bottom of the frame on both sides of the vehicle, and record and retain this measurement as a guide for installing the new brackets.
  • Remove the factory brackets from the frame, grind the area smooth, and remove any paint to prepare the area for the new brackets.

Step 3:

  • Interlock the shock tower, coil tower, and the coil tower gusset on the frame placing the leg of the coil tower in the same location that the OEM gusset was and level.
  • Due to variations in the shape of the frame in this area, a slight amount of grinding on the new brackets may be required to obtain satisfactory gaps for welding.
  • Once all components are fitted to satisfaction, tack weld all parts to each other but not to the frame.
  • Repeat this step for both sides of the frame.
  • Step 4: Remove the bracket assemblies from the frame and finish welding all components together.
  • Step 5: Install the provided nuts in the center of the front coil caps and weld in place.
  • Step 6: Interlock the front coil spring locator 1 and front coil spring locator 2 install them in the slots on the coil tower and weld them in place.
  • Step 7: Place the nut and cap assembly from step 5 into the center of the coil spring locator and weld it in place.

Step 8:

  • Place the welded assemblies back onto the frame in the correct locations and weld in place to the frame.
  • Paint any bare surfaces to prevent rust.

Step 9:

  • Install the bump stop cups and bump stops with the provided bolt.

Step 10:

  • Reinstall any components removed during the installation including the coil spring isolators.
  • Congratulations the installation is complete.
