Information on this manual

This user’s guide is part of the egg boiler CASO E3 (referred to hereafter as the Device) and provide you with important information for the initial commissioning, safety, intended use and care of

the device. The Operating Instructions must be available at all times at the device. This Operating Manual must be read and applied by every person who is instructed to work with the device:

  • Commissioning, Operation,
  • Troubleshooting and/or Cleaning

Keep the Operating Manual in a safe place and pass it on to the subsequent owner along with the device.

This device is only intended for use in households in enclosed spaces for cooking and boiling of eggs. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications, such as:

  • in kitchens, for employees in shops, offices and other commercial areas,
  • in farms,
  • by customers in hotels, motels and other similar residential environments,
  • in bed and breakfast

Uses for a different purpose or for a purpose which exceeds this description are considered incom- patible with the intended or designated use.

⯈ ATTENTION: The egg piercer in the measuring cup is sharp. Handle it with care to avoid injury.

⯈ Do not fill the measuring cup beyond the maximum 100 ml mark.
⯈ Clean the device and surfaces that come into contact with food aftereach use as described in the chapter “cleaning and maintenance”.

PLEASE NOTE __

⯈ Examine the shipment to ensure the unit and manual are included and inspect the unit for any visible damage.
⯈ Immediately notify the carrier and/or the supplier about an incomplete shipment or any damage as a result of inadequate packaging or mishandling.

Unpacking

Carefully remove the packaging material and unit from the carton.

Setup location requirements

In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the setup location must fulfil the following prerequisites:

  • Only use this device on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from water splashes and any heat
  • Choose the setup location in such a way that children cannot reach any hot surfaces on the

Electrical connection

Operation and Handing

This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to operating the device. Observe the following notices to avoid dangers and damages:

Before using

  1. Clean the unit thouroughly and wipe the heating pan with a damp
  2. Place the device on a flat
  3. Plug the plug into the power
  4. Fill water into the measuring cup until it reaches the 100 ml mark. Pour the water onto the heating
  5. Place the egg holder on the heating
  6. Use the egg piercer to pierce the blunt end of the eggs. To do this, remove the protecti- ve cover from the bottom of the measuring

Time-controlled hardness setting

Use the infinitely variable control knob to select the desired hardness of the boiled eggs. The egg boiler is equipped with a time-controlled hardness setting.
The electronic system is designed for size “M” (normal) eggs. When larger or smaller eggs are used, the electronic system must be adjusted accordingly
(small egg = shorter boiling time, larger egg = longer boiling time). To achieve a perfect boiling result always pour 100 ml water onto the heating plate. Boiling results may vary
depending on the temperature of the water and the eggs.
The further to the right you turn the control knob, the longer the boiling time will be. The longer the boiling time, the harder the boiled eggs will be. The egg symbols on the control knob provide a guide line:

⯈ The device will only start to heat the water when turned to the first hardness setting.
⯈ The hardness setting you choose will depend on your personal taste. Use the settings described above as a starting point. After just a short time using the device you will haveno problem choosing the setting which is best for you.

Boiling eggs

  1. Prepare the unit as described in „Before use“.
  2. Turn the switch to the desired hardness
  3. The boiling process will begin after an acoustic signal sounds and the operating light flashes The operating light will be permanently on for the entire boiling process.
  4. As soon as the boiling process finishes, three acoustic signals will sound and the operatinglight will start to flash.

WARNING

⯈ Hot steam will escape for the device when you remove the lid! Only touch the lid hand- les and allow condensation to drip onto the heating plate by turning the lid over the device.

⯈ If you turn the knob during the boiling process this will reset the timer and boiling will start again from the beginning.
⯈  The device will only operate if the control knob has been set to “OFF” before the device is connected to mains power. In such cases turn the knob back to the “OFF” position and then select the desired hardness setting.

ATTENTION

Please observe the safety instructions, before cleaning your device

⯈ Turn the device’s control knob to “OFF” prior to cleaning and disconnect the device from the wall socket.
⯈ Clean the device directly after use. Extended waiting unnecessarily complicates cleaning and can make it impossible in extreme cases. Excessive accumulations of dirt can even damage the device under certain circumstances.
⯈ Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
⯈ Do not scrape off stubborn dirt with hard items.
⯈  Do not immerse the unit into water, do not put it in a dishwasher.

When the device has cooled down, wipe it with a damp cloth.

Lid and tray can be washed with soap and water.

Descaling

To descale the device, remove the lid and pour water and a commercially available descaling agent onto the heating plate. Let the water boil briefly by turning the control knob to the first hardness setting. After boiling the water wait for 10 minutes and then clean the device thoroughly.

Disposal of the Old Device

Old electric and electronic devices frequently still contain valuable materials. Howe- ver, they also contain damaging substances, which were necessary for their functio- nality and safety. If these were put in the non- recyclable waste or were handled incor- rectly, they could be detrimental to human health and the environment. Therefore, do not put your old device into the non-recyclable waste under any circumstances.

⯈ Utilise the collection point, established in your town, to return and recycle old electric and electronic devices. If necessary, contact your town hall, local refuse collection service or your dealer for information.
⯈ Ensure that your old device is stored safely away from children until it is taken away.

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the device against damages during transit. The packaging materials are selected in accordance with environmentally compatible and recycling- related points of view and can therefore be recycled. Returning the packaging back to
the material loop saves raw materials and reduces the quantities of accumulated waste. Take any packaging materials that are no longer required to“Green Dot” recycling collection points for disposal.

We provide a 24-month guarantee for defects caused by production or material faults, begin- ning on the date of purchase. Our guarantee is valid for Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. For all other countries, please contact us.
Your legal guarantee claims as per Art. 437 ff. German Civil Code (BGB) will remain unaffected by this. You may exercise your statutory guarantee rights free of charge. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by improper handling or use of the product or defects which have only a minor impact on the product’s functionality or value. In addition to this, the guaranteealso excludes parts which are subject to wear and tear; transport damages insofar as we are not responsible for them and damages caused by repairs which were not carried out by us.
This product has been constructed for non-commercial use (domestic use) and its performance is designed to meet the corresponding needs. The guarantee only covers commercial use insofar as it is comparable to domestic use. The product is not intended for any other type of commercial use.
In the case of legitimate complaints we may either repair the defective product or replace it with a defect-free product at our discretion. Obvious defects must be notified to us within 14 days of the product’s delivery. Any further claims are excluded.
