Before you start using this product, please check if there is anything missing in the package, and contact your dealer to claim the missing item(s):
- 1 x Network camera
- 1 x Power adapter
- 1 x Ethernet cable
- 1 x Mounting kit
- 1 x CD with utility software and user manual
- 1 x Quick installation guide
- 1 x Detachable antenna (PT-31W only)
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Please follow the instructions to set up your new network camera. If you wish to place this network camera on a table, please skip steps 1 to 6.
Step 1:
Screw mounting plate A on the wall via the 4 holes indicated by the arrows.
Step 2:
Insert mounting plate B into the slot at the bottom of the network camera.
Step 3:
Screw mounting plate B to the network camera via the 2 holes indicated by the
arrows.
Step 4:
Mount the network camera on to the wall.
Step 5:
Screw mounting plate A and B together via the hole indicated by the arrow.
Step 6:
When mounted on the wall, the cables can pass through mounting plate A as
shown in the diagram.
Step 7:
Connect an Ethernet cable to the network camera via the Ethernet port.
Note: PT-31E (PoE model) supports the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. It can
be powered via the Ethernet cable when connected to a PoE switch.
Step 8:
Insert the DI/DO signal cable(s) into the DI/DO port. If you do not have
DI/DO accessories, you can skip this step.
Step 9:
Connect the power adapter to the network camera, then plug the power adapter
into a wall socket.
The camera’s LED lights should light up after a few seconds, and the camera
will test its pan and tilt motor within 1 minute. Please do not obstruct the
network camera while it is testing its pan and tilt motor.
Step 10:
If you need to set up a wireless connection, please attach the wireless
antenna to the IP camera and configure through a wired connection. (PT-31W
only)
ACCESSING THE NETWORK CAMERA’S MANAGEMENT INTERFACE
By default, the network camera automatically obtains an IP address from the DHCP server on your local network. Check your DHCP server’s IP address lease table to find the network camera’s IP address, or use the Edi View Finder utility included in the CD.

Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive. When the wizard appears, click “Setup Utility” to install the “Edi View Finder” software. Note: MacOS utility is supported within the CD-ROM Edi View Finder Utility. You can also find the file in the CD-ROM.

After the installation is complete, double-click the “Edi View Finder” icon to execute the application.

Click “Discover” to search for all the network cameras on your local network (make sure all the network cameras are powered on and connected to the network first).

When you find a network camera, left click on it once and click “Link” to access it via the web browser.
Note: You can also access the network camera’s management interface by entering the network camera’s IP address in the web browser’s URL bar (use Internet Explorer 7 and above for full functionality). -
Login to the network camera. The default username is “admin” and the default password is “1234”.

The browser might ask you to install the ActiveX plug-in. Allow the browser to install the plug-in when prompted or you will not be able to see the video from the network camera.
For IE 8 and earlier versions:
For IE 9, the notification will be displayed at the bottom of Internet Explorer:
Click ‘Allow’ to install ActiveX plug-in. If you’re prompted “Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program” then click ‘Allow access’, or the pan-tilt camera will not be able to function properly.
When you’re installing Internet Explorer plug-in, you may also be asked if you want to allow changes to be made to your computer:
Click “Yes” to allow changes.
After ActiveX plug-in is installed, you should be able to see the video stream
from the camera. Please refer to the user manual for more detailed
instructions.
Wireless Setting Wi-Fi Connection using WPS
Method 1: WPS BUTTON
Step 1: Power on the wireless AP and the wireless network camera. Wait for 1
minute for both devices to be up and running.
Step 2: Press the WPS button of the wireless AP. The WPS LED status will
usually flash to indicate that WPS is active – but this is dependent on the
brand of the AP.
Step 3: Press the WPS button of the wireless network camera and wait for 30
seconds.
Step 4: When the network LED of the camera is blinking, a WPS connection has
been successfully established.
Step 5: If you have more than 1 camera, repeat steps 2 – 4 for each additional
camera.
Method 2: PIN CODE SETTING
Step 1: Power on the wireless AP and the wireless network camera. Wait for 1
minute for both devices to be up and running.
Step 2: Open a web browser and login to the wireless server. Go to the
wireless/WPS setting page.
Step 3: Open web browser and login to the wireless network camera. Go to the
network/Wireless setting page and locate Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) item.
Step 4: Please enter the corresponding pin code of each device, on both pages
in the field “Configure via Pin Code” – as shown below. Then push the “Start
PIN” button.
Step 5: Wait for 30 seconds. When the network LED of the camera is blinking, a
WPS connection has been successfully established
Step 6: If you have more than 1 camera, repeat steps 2 – 5 for each additional
camera.
Federal Communication Commission Interference Statement
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class
B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of FCC Rules. These limits are designed
to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may
cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no
guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If

This device and its antenna must not be co-located or operating in conjunction
with any other antenna or transmitter. This device complies with Part 15 of
the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
- this device may not cause harmful interference, and
- this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible
for compliance could void the authority to operate equipment.
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Radiation Exposure Statement
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure set forth for an
uncontrolled environment. In order to avoid the possibility of exceeding the
FCC radio frequency exposure limits, human proximity to the antenna shall not
be less than 2.5cm (1 inch) during normal operation.
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) RF Exposure Requirements
SAR compliance has been established in the laptop computer(s) configurations
with PCMCIA slot on the side near the center, as tested in the application for
certification, and can be used in laptop computer(s) with substantially
similar physical dimensions, construction, and electrical and RF
characteristics. Use in other devices such as PDAs or lap pads is not
authorized. This transmitter is restricted for use with the specific antenna
tested in the application for certification. The antenna(s) used for this
transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other
antenna or transmitter.
R &TTE Compliance Statement
This equipment complies with all the requirements of DIRECTIVE 1999/5/EC OF
THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND THE COUNCIL of March 9, 1999 on radio equipment
and telecommunication terminal equipment and the mutual recognition of their
conformity (R&TTE). The R&TTE Directive repeals and replaces in the directive
98/13/EEC (Telecommunications Terminal Equipment and Satellite Earth Station
Equipment) As of April 8, 2000.
Safety
This equipment is designed with the utmost care for the safety of those who
install and use it. However, special attention must be paid to the dangers of
electric shock and static electricity when working with electrical equipment.
All guidelines of this and of the computer manufacture must therefore be
allowed at all times to ensure the safe use of the equipment.

The ETSI version of this device is intended for home and office use in
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg,
Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain,
Sweden, Turkey, and United Kingdom. The ETSI version of this device is also
authorized for use in EFTA member states: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and
Switzerland.
