- Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E, CSA Z462, NOM-029-STPS or local equivalent.
- This equipment must only be installed and serviced by qualified electrical personnel.
- Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or inside equipment.
- Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.
- Put back all devices, doors, and covers before turning on power to this equipment.
- Beware of potential hazards, and carefully inspect the work area for tools and objects that may have been left inside the equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Handle Adaptation
Activation of Locking in I-On Position
When the rotary handle is locked in I-On position:
- the protection functions are still active and will trip the circuit breaker in case of electrical fault
- the user can trip the circuit breaker in case of emergency with the push-to-trip button.
Deactivation of Door Interlock in I-On and Trip Position
The rotary handle is delivered with the door lock activated.
To deactivate door locking when the handle is in the I-On or Trip position:
- Turn and hold the rotary handle in the O-Off position.
- Tighten the screw inside the handle to the specified torque value.
Installation
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH
Install the device rotary handle before energizing device to prevent access
to live terminals.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
NOTICE
HAZARD OF EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
- Be careful not to pinch electrical wires when installing the rotary handle.
- Tighten all rotary handle screws to stated torque.
- Do not over torque screws.
- Do not use power equipment to torque screws.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage.
Front-Panel Cutout
Use the GVAPL01 laser tool for precise drilling of the cutout on the door.

CAUTION
HAZARD OF CLOSING ON ELECTRICAL FAULT
Do not close the device without first inspecting and, if necessary,
repairing the downstream electrical equipment.

Device Operation with Door Open

To operate the circuit breaker when the door is open, use an open door shaft
operator LV426937.
Consult the instruction sheet EAV78496.
Locking the Handle
Locking in O-Off Position
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH
When device rotary handle is locked in O-Off position, always use a properly
rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off before working on
equipment. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or
serious injury.
Locking in I-On Position
To activate locking of handle in I-On position, consult the section 4.1.
Door L4ocking in I-On and Trip Position
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH
The rotary handle is delivered with the door lock activated.
When the door lock is activated, only qualified persons are authorized to
disable the door lock.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
To deactivate the door Interlock in I-On or Trip position, refer to section
4.2.

The product’s manufacture date is coded PP-YYYY-Www-D, where:
- PP: plant code
- YYYY: year of manufacture
- Www: week of manufacture
- D: weekday of manufacture (Monday = 1)
Eg: 7Q-2019-W20-3 = product manufactured at plant 7Q on Wednesday 15 May 2019
