Charging the battery
The Fontastic® Tonic is equipped with an internal rechargeable battery.
Connect the Tonic with the USB Type-C ® cable which is included in the package
contents.
The cable can be connected to a computer or a standard USB power supply. The
Tonic‘s red LED lights up during the charging process. When fully charged, the
red LED goes out.
The cable can be disconnected from the Fontastic® Tonic.
Note: Fully charge the Tonic before using it for the first time.
Adjusting the height / folding the speakers
To adjust the height, hold the speaker unit and pull the headphone bracket
upward.
Adjust the headphones in this way until the ear pads sit exactly on the ear.
The headphones can be folded for space-saving storage or transport.
Switching On /Off
To switch on, press the multifunction button for 3 seconds, an acoustic signal
sounds, the blue and red LED flash alternately.
To switch off, press the multifunction button for 3 seconds, an acoustic
signal sounds, the LED goes off.
Pairing
Tonic must be paired with a Bluetooth ® device before it can be used as wireless headphone with hands free function.
- In the off state, press and hold the multifunction button (5) for 3 seconds to turn on. Keep the button pressed and wait until the blue and red LED flashes alternately. This indicates the pairing mode.
- Search for „Tonic“ on your Bluetooth ® enabled device and select it from the list of found devices to connect the headphones to the Bluetooth® device.
- Confirm the connection with Tonic.
If you are unsure about the pairing procedure of your Bluetooth ® device,
please check your device manual. When using a Bluetooth ® transmitter without
display, set it to pairing mode and wait a few seconds until the connection
with Tonic is established. Note: If the connection is lost or the
transmitter is temporarily disconnected, briefly press the multifunction
button. Tonic will then try to restore the connection.
Note: The connection is disconnected during the charging process. The
headphones turn off, and the on/off button is disabled.
ANC Noise Cancellation
Tonic is equipped with active noise cancellation to reduce ambient noise and
enhance music enjoyment.
To activate the ANC function, press the ANC switch. Activated ANC is indicated
by the green LED lighting up.
Music playback
Note: The mobile phone must support the A2DP and AVRCP profile for
wireless music streaming and control. The buttons have no function when using
the wired connection. Use the audio source to control the music and volume.
Start music playback on the Bluetooth ® source which is paired with the Tonic.
The music is transferred to the Tonic. Stop the music playback on the
Bluetooth ® source to interrupt the streaming. To start or stop music playback
via the Tonic, press the multifunction button once.
By using an 3.5 mm jack cable, you can also use Tonic as wired headphones when
it is turned off. To do this, connect the cable to the 3.5 mm line-in port of
Tonic and the audio source, start music playback on the audio source.
NOTE: The buttons on the Tonic have no function when using an audio
cable.
Music control
Start/Stop: To play or stop music, press the multifunction button briefly.
Previous track: To skip to the previous track, press and hold the volume-
button.
Next track: To skip to the next track, press and hold the Volume+ button.
Handsfree functions
Due to the built-in microphone, the Fontastic® Tonic is perfectly suited to be
used as a hands-free device for phone calls.
Answer incoming call: Briefly press the multifunction button.
End ongoing call: Briefly press the multifunction button.
Reject incoming call: Press and hold the multifunction button.
Redial: Press the multifunction key twice button.
Volume setting
Increase volume: Briefly press the Volume+ key. Repeat this step until the
desired volume is reached.
Decrease volume: Briefly press the Volume- key. Repeat this step until the
desired volume is reached.
