IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using your Kenmore Stand Blender, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

  2. Before using the appliance for the first time, remove any packaging material, promotional labels, and stickers. Safely dispose of plastic bags or small pieces that could present a suffocation or choking hazard to young children.

  3. PLACEMENT: To protect against fire, injury, electrical shock, or property damage, observe the following safeguards:
    a. Do not use near the edge of a counter or table or on a wet or uneven surface;
    b. Do not use on or near a hot surface such as a stovetop or cooking pot;
    c. Do not use on a metal surface such as a sink drain board.

  4. Before using, check that the voltage of the wall outlet corresponds to the one shown on the rating plate. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. Do not attempt to use the appliance with a voltage converter.

  5. Fully unwind cord before use. Do not let the cord become knotted, hang over the edge of a counter or table, or contact hot surfaces, such as a stovetop or cooking pot.

  6. Do not attempt to operate the appliance if there is damage to the cord or plug, after it has malfunctioned or been dropped or damaged in any way, if it is not operating properly, or if the blending blades are bent or damaged in any way. Do not attempt to sharpen the blades. Take the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination and repair.

  7. Always unplug the appliance from the power source when not in use and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp plug and pull it from the electrical outlet; never unplug it by pulling on the power cord.

  8. This appliance is recommended for indoor household use only. Do not operate in moving vehicles or boats and do not operate outdoors. Using this appliance for anything other than its intended use (non-commercial household food preparation) will void your warranty.

  9. This appliance is not intended for use by persons, including children, with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, without supervision and instruction by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

  10. Ensure that the motor body is securely affixed to the countertop before connecting to a power outlet and operating.

  11. Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.

  12. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the motor body, power cord, or electrical plug in any liquid. Only the blending jar, lid, sealing ring, and vent cap are designed for immersion in liquids for blending or cleaning.

  13. Ensure that the blending jar and lid are properly positioned before attempting to operate the blender. Do not operate the blender without the lid in place and do not attempt to defeat the safety interlocks at any time.

  14. THE BLENDING BLADES ARE EXTREMELY SHARP. Use extreme caution and avoid contact with cutting edges when handling and cleaning the blades.

  15. To reduce the risk of personal injury and/or damage to the appliance, keep hands, hair, clothing, and utensils away from and out of the blending jar during operation. Avoid any contact with moving parts. Always wait until the blade has completely stopped rotating before removing the lid.

  16. Never operate the blender empty.

  17. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BLEND BOILING LIQUIDS. When blending hot liquids such as soup, allow the liquid to cool for several minutes and then fill the blending jar no more than halfway. Remove the vent cap, cover the opening with a folded towel, and hold the towel in place with your hand while blending. Failure to follow these instructions could result in sudden steam or liquid release and burns.

  18. Do not attempt to operate the appliance by any method other than as described in this manual. Aftermarket attachments or accessories not recommended by Kenmore will void your warranty and may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury.

  19. For any maintenance other than cleaning, call or email Koolatron Customer Assistance.

CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING – To protect against electric shock, ALWAYS UNPLUG the appliance from the electric outlet before disassembling or cleaning.

Always clean the blender thoroughly after using. To simplify the cleaning process, rinse the blender jar immediately after use to prevent food from drying in it.

SELF CLEAN FUNCTION

To use the built-in self-cleaning function, fill the blender jar with warm (not hot) water and 1-2 drops of mild dish soap. Ensure that the lid and vent cap are in place and press the CLEAN button. The blender will run at high speed for 1 minute and then stop. The indicator light will blink 3 times before shutting off. Press the CLEAN button again at any time during the process to pause operation.

MOTOR BODY

Unplug the blender from the power source. Wipe the motor body with a damp sponge or cloth, using a small amount of mild dish soap if needed. Do not use abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface and do not immerse the motor body in water.

BLENDING JAR AND LID

Remove the sealing ring and vent cap from the lid. Wash the blending jar, lid, sealing ring, and vent cap in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher at a temperature setting below 149°F / 65°C and dry completely. Use extreme caution when cleaning the blades to avoid injury and keep the blending jar out of reach of children at all times.

WARNING – The blending and chopping blades are extremely sharp. Use caution when handling and avoid contact with the cutting edges.

USING YOUR BLENDER

  1. Assemble the blender according to the instructions on Page 4. When you plug the blender in with the blending jar locked in place, the indicator lights will flash once and turn off as the blender enters standby mode.
  2. The blender will shut off after 3 minutes in standby mode and can be reactivated by either unplugging and plugging it back in or removing and replacing the blender jar.
  3. Operate the blender using the manual speed control dial, the PULSE function, or one of the built-in modes. Always rest one hand on top of the lid while blending to ensure the lid stays in place.
  4. MANUAL SPEED CONTROL: Turn the dial clockwise from OFF to start blending and continue turning to increase speed. Turn the dial anti-clockwise to decrease speed and return to OFF to stop.
  5. PULSE BUTTON: Press and hold to run the blender at high speed and release to stop. The blender will stop automatically if the button is held for 2 minutes.
  6. SMOOTHIE and ICE CRUSH: When either button is pressed, the blender will run in that mode for 60 seconds and stop automatically. The indicator light will blink 3 times before shutting off.
  7. As a safety feature, the speed control dial does not function during the automatic modes and vice versa. To pause or cancel an automatic cycle, press the button again.

BLENDING TIPS

  • The vent cap doubles as a measuring cup Use it to measure and add ingredients without washing an extra container.
  • Easily blend firm fruits and vegetables Cut into 1-inch pieces and start blending at medium to high speed. Starting at too low a speed can damage the motor.
  • Be safe when blending hot liquids Don’t fill the blending jar more than halfway. Remove the vent cap, cover the opening with a folded towel, and hold the towel in place with your hand while blending. Start at a low speed and gradually increase.
  • Add liquids first and then solid ingredients for consistent blending and uniform mixing
  • Protect the blades by using a rubber or plastic spatula to scrape down the sides of the jar, never metal. Always stop the blender before inserting any kind of utensil.
