Troubleshooting
Problem
Unit will not turn on (no power)
Unit has Power (but no sound)
| Cause
- Yellow wire is not connected or is the incorrect voltage.
- Red wire is not connected or is the incorrect voltage.
- Black wire is not connected.
| Solution
- Check connections for proper voltage (11-14.4VDC).
- Check the connection to the ground.

- Fuse is blown.
- Speaker wires are not connected.

- Replace the fuse.
- Check the connections at the speakers.
One or more speaker wires are touching each other, or they are touching the chassis ground.| Insulate all bare speaker wires from each other and the chassis around.
Unit blows fuses

- The rating of the fuse is incorrect.
- The unit is not mounted correctly, or the backstrap is not secure.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Refer to the back of remote handset for details on how to replace the battery. Replace only with the same or equivalent type of battery. -
BATTERY DISPOSAL
Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of used battery disposal. Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly placed.
REMOTE HANDSET – GENERAL OPERATION

POWER ON/ OFF
Press to turn on or off of the unit. -
OPERATING MODE SELECTION
Press MODE repeatedly to select the desired mode for operation. -
VOLUME CONTROL
Press VOL+ I VOL- to adjust the volume output level. -
MUTE CONTROL
Press to turn on or off of sound mute control. -
AUDIO CONTROL & FUNCTION SELECTOR
- Press SEUMENU repeatedly to shift to the following audio & function control modes and when the desired mode reached, press VOL+ I VOL- to have setting or adjustment:
- Volume (VOL) / Bass (BAS) / Treble (TRE) / Balance (BAL) / Fader (FAD) / Loudness (LOUD ON / LOUD OFF) / Preset EQ (POP / ROCK/ CLASSIC/ EQ OFF)/ Local &
- Distant (LOCAL/ DX)/ Stereo & Mono (STEREO/ MONO)
- Note: Local & distance, stereo & mono available at FM radio mode only (refer to REMOTE HANDSET – RADIO OPERATION for details)

PRESET EQUALIZATION CONTROL
Press EQ repeatedly to select the desired preset equalization mode. -
LOUDNESS CONTROL
Press & hold LOUD shortly to turn on or off of loudness control.
CLOCK DISPLAY & ADJUSTMENT
Press DISP to recall the time display. For clock setting, press & hold shortly
DISP until the digits of hour starts blinking, press VOL+ / VOL- to adjust
hour and confirm the setting by pressing SEUMENU, it will then change to
minute setting. Press VOL+/ VOL- to adjust minute and when setting completed,
press DISP again to resume to normal time display.
BASIC FUNCTIONS
- Power ON/OFF
- Mode selection Press repeatedly to select the desired mode for operation.
- Bluetooth Mode: Press to hang up an incoming call.

In Radio Mode

Press and hold to explore stations one at the time in descending order.

Press once to automatically surf stations in descending order.
-
IN CD/USB/ SD Mode:
Press to go back the the last track. Press and hold to rowing the track that is currently playing. -
ln Radio Mode
Press and hold to explore stations one at the time in ascending order Press once to automatically surf stations in ascending order. -
IN CD/USB/ SD Mode:
-
Press to skip the next track.
-
Press and hold to fast- forward the track that is currently playing.
BAND
Press BAND to cycle between FM stations, as shown below:
FM1-FM2-FM3
In Bluetooth Mode:
Press BAND to answer incoming calls.
PRESET MEMORY STATION NO 1-6
- Press briefly to cycle through each programmed station for 5 seconds.
- Press the APS bottom for 2 seconds and the unit will automatically seek and memorize discovered stations. The stations discovered will be assigned to the M 1-M6 keys.
- Once completed, the unit will return to its previous operation.
- NOTE: While the unit is seeking stations, it will go into sleep mode. Each band can store a maximum of 6 stations for a total of 30 programmable stations.
SEL(Tone Adjustment)Volume Control
- Increase the volume level turn the volume knob to the right.
- Press SEL repeatedly to access to setting for BASS/ TREMBLE/LEFT/CHANNEURIGHT CHANNEL. These audio setting can also be adjusted using the volume button.
- LCD DISPLAY : It shows the status of current operation of the unit.
- : Press to turn on or off of sound muting control.
- EQ : Press repeatedly to select the preset equalization mode.
- CLK : Press to recall time display. Press hold shortly to activate clock setting mode and hour digit starts blinking. At this mode, rotate press FUNCTION CONTROL to adjust hour and minute. After setting, press to confirm the setting

BASIC FUNCTIONS

Radio Mode -Auto Memory Store
Press hold shortly to start searching and storing the strongest signal stations into the PRESET MEMORY STATION NO 1-6. After one cycle searched, the unit starts scanning all the preset stations and stops few seconds for broadcasting. -
Radio Mode-Auto Scan
Press to start scanning all the preset stations on selected radio band and stop few seconds for broadcasting. Press again to stop this mode. -
USB /SD Input Mode
Press repeatedly to activate different searching modes that may include track, file & directory search. Under this mode, rotate & press FUNCTIONNTROL to select and enter track for playback
(Note: Depended on the input device and media recorded, not all searching modes are available) -
MIC : For voice reception under BLUETOOTH operation

AUX : Insert an external device to this jack in order to have sound output of the external device through the unit.

IR : Remote control sensor for signal reception from remote handset.

LOU : Press to turn on or off of loudness control.

- Press the pause/Play bytton to pause, play, or resume audio playback.
- Turning the volume knob will also resume playback.

BROWSE/KEY NUMBER 2

Press the browserbutton to play 1 0 seconds clip of each song. -
In Radio Mode:
Press to selct the preset station assignet to the key number 2.

Press the repeat button to repeat a single song. Press repeatedly to toggle through repeat options. -

Press to selct the preset station assignet to the key number 3.
RAMDOM PLAY/KEY NUMBER 4

Press the random play button to shuffle through tracks. -
In Radio Mode:
Press to select the preset station assigned to Key Number 4.

Press the D- button to display the previous folder (if available). -

Press to select the preset station assigned to Key Number 5.

MODE :
Press the MODE button to cycle between RADIO/DISC/USB/SD/AUX/BT modes. In Bluetooth (BT) mode, The MODE Key is used to end a call.
USB/SDCARD PLAYBACK
- Insert a USB or SD card into their respective ports. Media will aoutomatically begin to play once
- Insert a USB or SD card into the appropriete port. Media will automatically begin to play once a USB or SD card is inserted. If Auto Play does not begin, press the MODE button to select the USB/SD Card Playback Mode. Support max USD/SD cards up to 16 GB.
BLUETOOTH PRING
- Enable Bluetooth on your device.
- Scan for available devices.
- Select” CARMEL 140 ‘; or a similar name, when it appears on your device.
- Enter the code when prompted:0000
APPLICATION TO CONTROL THE UNIT VIA BLUETOOTH OF MOBILE PHONE
- User can download the following application to the mobile phone in order to have control of the main unit by the mobile phone via Bluetooth. Take your phone and follow the steps:
- – for Android device, search “ewaylink” from Play for 10S device, search “ewaylink” from App
- Store and after searched, download & install: Store and after searched, download & install:
- After installation, open “Ewaylink” application:
- The following menu appeared in the mobile phone and you can start control the car unit with this menu (Bluetooth must be connected):
The following shows the control option:
- Shift to setting menu for Bluetooth set up. (Note: it is a must to select and connect to the car unit in order to have control)
- Exit the application.
- Selection of operation mode.
- Shift to set for the output level on bass / treble / balance / fader.
- Turn on/off of sound mute control.
- Slide to set for sound output level.
- Set for sound output level.
- Playback & pause control.
- Shift track/channel up/down for playback/broadcasting.
- Radio band selection.
- This shows the operating mode.
- This shows the playback/broadcasting details.
Remarks: The operation under this application is limited to some modes & controls only.
