Getting Started
Ensure your Stylus N10 is placed on a stable, level surface. Remove all
packaging from your turntable, ensuring care when removing parts from the
counterweight and tonearm.
Remove the protective stylus guard from the tonearm cartridge by gently
removing the band, and gently pulling the guard forwards.
Please Note
The tonearm counterweight has been preset for the AT3600L cartridge fitted. If
the balance of the tonearm appears to be incorrect, and/or the stylus skips on
the vinyl when you start playing records, you may need to adjust the
counterweight, see page 17.
1.1. The belt is already on the platter.
1.2. Hook the belt around the drive pulley making sure it is not twisted.
1.3. Rotate the platter slowly 10 times in a clockwise direction to seat the belt properly and to make sure it runs smoothly.
1.4. Place the felt mat on top of the platter.
Using Powered External Speakers
The Stylus N10 can be used with the built-in speakers or connected to powered
external speakers using the RCA/ phono sockets (20) on the back of your
turntable using the RCA/phono cable supplied.
When using an powered external speaker ensure the PHONO/LINE OUT switch is set
to LINE OUT as this channel is not amplified by the Stylus N10.
2.1. Using Stylus’s Built-In Speakers
When listening through Stylus’s built-in speakers ensure the PHONO/LINE OUT
switch is set to PHONO as this channel is amplified.
Powering Your Stylus N10
To power your Stylus N10, insert the jack plug into the DC 12V IN port (21) on the back of the Stylus N10 and plug the power adaptor (supplied) into a powered wall socket. Switch the ON/OFF power switch to ON to power your turntable, the LED will light when the turntable has power.
3.1. Eco Auto Power Off
To save energy your Stylus N10 will automatically power off if there is no
audio input for 60 minutes.
To reactivate the turntable, switch the ON/OFF switch to OFF, then ON again. The LED will light to indicate that power has been restored.
Playing a Vinyl Record
**Auto Stop Dial***
Some records may have an auto stop area outside of the pre-set limit, so the
turntable stops before the last track finishes. If this happens set the AUTO
STOP dial to OFF.
This will allow the record to play to the end. Please note that the turntable
will not stop automatically. When your record has finished, use the tonearm
lever to raise the tonearm and place it back in the rest.
4.1. If fitted, remove the stylus guard from the tonearm cartridge by
gently pulling it forwards.
4.2. Turn the speed selector/mode switch to the correct speed, 33 or 45
(331/3 RPM 12-inch LPs, 45 RPM for 7-inch singles).
4.3. Adjust the volume to a low level using the volume dial.
4.4. Make sure the AUTO STOP dial* is switched to ON.
4.5. Carefully place your record on the platter.
4.6. Unclip the tonearm.
4.7. Lift the tonearm using the tonearm lever.
4.8. Place the stylus over the start of the record, or at the start of the track you want to play. The turntable will spin automatically.
4.9. Gently lower the tonearm using the tonearm lever.
4.10. Adjust the volume to your preferred level using the volume dial.
4.11. When the record has finished playing the turntable will stop
spinning automatically*.
4.12 . Lift the tonearm with the tonearm lever and return it to the
tonearm rest. Reclip the tonearm.
To stop playback before the record has finished or if the turntable doesn’t
stop automatically, lift the tonearm with the tonearm lever and return it to
the tonearm rest, the turntable will stop turning automatically. Reclip the
tonearm.
Bluetooth Function
Turn the speed selector/mode dial to BT. The LED will flash blue to indicate that the Stylus N10 is in pairing mode.
Your Stylus N10 will automatically search for the last connected device. Connect a compatible device as shown below.
When your device is connected you will hear a chime and the LED will be a
steady blue. You don’t need to re-pair. The Stylus N10 will automatically
reconnect with your device when they are in range and both are turned on.
To disconnect your device, you will need to do this via your device’s menu.
You will hear a chime when your device has been disconnected successfully and
the LED will flash blue. Your Stylus N10 is now ready to pair with a new
device.
Use the volume dial to control the volume. You can also use your device to
change the volume. Adjust the volume on both your device and the Stylus N10
for optimum sound. Use your device for all other playback options.
AUX IN Function
Connect any audio device to the 3.5mm AUX IN port on the back of your Stylus N10. The LED will be purple. Connecting a device to the AUX IN port will override all other modes/functions.
Use your device to control and select audio and use a combination of the
volume on your device and the Stylus N10 to adjust for optimum sound.
When you remove your device from the AUX IN port your Stylus N10 will return
to the previous mode it was in; 33 RPM, 45 RPM or Bluetooth.
Counterweight and Tracking Force Adjustment
The tonearm counterweight has been preset for the AT3600L cartridge fitted.
7.1. Loosen the locking screw before adjusting the counterweight.
7.2 . Unclip the tonearm and position it in the space between the tonearm
rest and the platter.
7.3. Gently lower the tonearm lever, being careful not to damage the stylus.
Rotate the counterweight backwards and forwards so that the tonearm hangs level in a neutral balanced position. The tonearm when moved up and down should now return to this position.
7.4. Return the tonearm to the rest.
7.5. Hold the counterweight still and rotate the tracking force dial
separately so that the ‘0’ lines up with the line on the tonearm.
7.6. Check the balance is still neutral using the space between the
tonearm rest and the platter as before.
7.7. Return the tonearm to the rest. Now rotate the counterweight and
tracking force dial together counterclockwise (left) to 3.5g – the recommend
tracking force for the AT3600Lcartridge fitted.
