Philips UV-C disinfection box
This user manual provides important warnings and information on the proper
application and operation of this UV-C appliance. You should always operate
this UV-C appliance in accordance with this user manual.
Product introduction
- During the disinfection routine, a light blue light will be visible through the plastic cover
Control panel
Timer indicator:
Power on, the timer indicator is “–” and the appliance is ready to work. The
remaining work duration will be indicated. The timer indicator is “–” when the
appliance is open. The timer indicator is “E1” when there is an error with the
dry function. The timer indicator is “E3” when there is an error with the
disinfection function. If you experience an error message, do not attempt to
fix anything yourself, but contact our service center.
Operation caution
- DO NOT USE THE DRY FUNCTION FOR ANY ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS. DOING SO CAN RESULT IN DAMAGE.
- Remove excessive water of objects before they are loaded into the UV-C appliance when using the dry and disinfect+dry function.
- Keep the objects unfolded, uncovered and unstacked before they are loaded into the UV-C appliance, to enable the maximum UV-C light exposure of the surface. Surfaces must be directly exposed to UV-C light in order to be disinfected.
- The UV-C appliance should only be used in a stable upright position. Objects with a concave shape with an open top like a bowl or cup, should be placed in an upside position when loading into the UV-C appliance and keep the open side uncovered.
- The UV-C lamp is not replaceable. If your UV-C lamp stops work-ing, you will need to replace the entire appliance.
- Switch the power off before you clean the UV-C appliance, do not use volatile detergent like alcohol or gasoline. Do not pour water on/into the UV-C appliance. Just use a dry cloth to wipe the UV-C appliance.
- The disinfection effect is dependent on the time of exposure to UV-C light.
- This UV-C appliance only works under dry conditions, it’s not suitable for damp or wet locations.
- Only use the UV-C appliance indoors.
Warning!
- Do not leave the UV-C appliance plugged in when not in use. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
- Not a toy. Not intended for use by children under 12 years of age. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Use only as described in this user manual. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
- Do not use with a damaged cord or plug. If a UV-C appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not roll the cord around the appliance when in use. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle plug or UV-C appliance with wet hands.
- The cord is not replaceable.
- Turn off all controls before unplugging.
- Keep the UV-C appliance away from sources of fire.
- Do not put flammable and explosive goods into the UV-C appliance.
- Do not dismantle the UV-C appliance.
- This UV-C appliance is not approved and/or certified as a medical appliance.
- This UV-C appliance is intended to be used for disinfection of the surfaces of objects other than medical appliances.
- This UV-C appliance cannot be used to disinfect the surface of medical appliances (such as surgical masks).
- This UV-C appliance cannot be used in medical settings.
- After the dry and disinfect+dry routine, mind your hands when you open the box due to the high temperature. Allow the box to cool for several minutes prior to removing the object(s) placed inside.
- Use only as described in this user manual. Use only manufactur-er’s recommended attachments.
- WARNING: The top lid is provided with an interlock to reduce the risk of excessive ultraviolet radiation. Do not defeat this purpose or attempt to service without removing the top lid completely.
- Supply the UV-C appliance only from a grounded system. A green terminal (or a wire connector marked “G”, “GR”, “GROUND”, OR “GROUNDING”) is provided for wiring the UV-C appliance. To reduce the risk of electric shock, connect this terminal or connector to the grounding terminal of the electric service or supply panel with a continuous copper wire in accordance with the electrical installation code.
- This UV-C appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a quali-fied electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
- Power supply instruction:
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If an extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the UV-C appliance.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).
Operation guide
- Power on: you will hear a beep, and the timer indicator will display “–”.
- Press the button to open the top lid, load the objects evenly into the UV-C appliance and close the top lid. Keep the top lid closed through-out the appliance’s operation.
- Press working mode button to choose the appropriate working mode. See “Working mode guide” below.
- Once the routine is completed, open the top lid, take objects out and unplug the UV-C appliance.
Working mode guide
Disinfect
Disinfect function inactivates viruses and bacteria Gently press the
“Disinfect” button, the timer indicator will display“10” (10 min. disinfection
duration by default). Both the timer indicator and the working mode button
will flash 3 times, during this period, press the “Disinfect” button again to
choose either “15” or “20” as 15min. or 20min. working duration. The flash
will stop in 2 seconds, and the UV-C appliance will start to work. Dry
The dry function removes moisture from objects Gently press the “Dry” button,
the timer indicator will display “30” (30 min. dry duration by default). Both
the timer indicator and the working mode button will flash 3 times during this
period, press the “Dry” button again to choose either “30” or “50” as 30min.

appliance will start to work.

temperature. Allow the box to cool for several minutes prior to removing the
object(s) placed inside.
Storage
Storage function continuously disinfects objects Gently press the “Storage”
button, the timer indicator will display “20” (20 min. disinfection duration
by default). In this mode, the UV-C appliance will disinfect every 2 hours for
2 minutes after the 20 min. disinfection. The timer indicator is running
during the 2 hours periods and not during the 2 min. disinfection duration and
will stop at “–” when the 72 hours maintenance routine is finished.
Disinfect+Dry
Disinfect+Dry function removes moisture and then disinfects objects Gently
press the “Disinfect+Dry” button, the timer indicator will dis-play “40” (30
min. dry and 10 min. disinfection duration by default). Both the timer
indicator and the working mode button will flash 3 times, during this period,
press the “Disinfect+Dry” button to choose either “40” or “60” as 40min. or
60min. working duration(50min. dry and 10min.disinfection). The flash will
stop in 2 seconds, and the appliance will start to work.
