Endurance Light Install

  1. Remove passenger seat

  2. Remove the e single T25 Torx drive bolt. The ere is one bolt for the clutch and one for the throttle side tail fairings.
The next steps can be pretty scary the first time. The Tail fairing half f is secured by snap in the database there are 6 of them the best way I’ve found is to just wedge your fingers under them until they pop out. Be gen title take your time.FUTURISMOTO-Endurance-Light-fig-2

  3. On the underside of the tail fairing, wedge your finger under the fairing by  the subframe

  4. Make Space and kind of walk your fingers near the bolt hole. With your finger hooked under the fairing pull until the single underside snap pops for.

  5. Again on the side, hook your finger between the subframe and fairing and pull sideways towards you until the 2 side snaps pop free

  6. Before you pop the topside snaps keep in mind that the rear tip of the tail fairing there is a tiny tab that hooks into the black tail plastic. It is pretty easy to break.

  7. Work your fingers between the top side of the tail fairing and the black plastic to pop the last 3 snaps free.
Repeat tail fairing removal steps on the other side. Both tail fairings have to be removed to access the tail light wiring connectors. Left side light plug is on the left and right side light connector is on the right.

  8. Disconnect 3 wire connectors. 2 on the clutch side of the bike and 1 on the throttle side of the bike. They are behind the plastic grill/mesh under the tail.

  9. There is a ZIP TIE hidden behind the OBD port that you will want to carefully snipFUTURISMOTO-Endurance-Light-fig-10

  10. Thread the wires out and free as much as you can. they all run through the trunk into a single hole at the rearFUTURISMOTO-Endurance-Light-fig-11

  11. With a T25 Torx driver remove 2 fasteners on the underside of the number plate arm.FUTURISMOTO-Endurance-Light-fig-12

  12. With the bolts out slide the number plate arm rearward then down to remove. Carefully thread the wires out of the trunk as you remove the plate arm.

  13. With a T25 Torx driver remove the single center bolt pictured in the trunk.
It’s easiest to install your number plate on the number plate bracket prior to mounting your bracket to the tail tidy body. Use supplied fasteners Qty 4 (M6x10, washers, nuts) using a 4mm hex wrench and 10mm box wrench.

MUST APPLY MEDIUM STRENGTH THREAD LOCKER (Blue Loctite) to the little M4 fastener. Tighten M4 bolt very snugly using 2.5mm Hex wrench.

  14. Unless you have help it will be easiest to pre stage the M4x25 Hex head bolt and washer on your 3mm Hex wrench. It would be a good idea to apply medium strength thread locker (Blue Loctite) to the M4 bolt

  15. Time to install the Endurance light From underneath carefully thread the endurance light harness through the rectangle hole and into the trunk. Place the tail tidy into the former plate mount arm hole. There are ridges on the tail tidy body to help alignit. Make sure it is aligned and seated, once in place take your pre staged M4 x 25 socket head bolt with washer and put it in the center hole in the trunk where you previously removed the T25 torx bolt. It may take some wiggling to get the bolt to align and thread into the tail tidy body. Thread the bolt in but it is a good idea to leave a little loose until you have all three bolts threaded into the endurance light. This allows you to wiggle things a bit to help with alignment.FUTURISMOTO-Endurance-Light-fig-17

  16. Remove only the rearward T20 Torx screw. Be super careful to not drop it into the abyss of the tail. You may want to shove a rag under the seat latch to catch a dropped bolt.

  17. Swing the now free Diagnostic port connector out of the way. Place the supplied support bracket in the trunk there is really only one way for it to fit like pictured.
With a 3mm Hex wrench thread in the 2, M4x 10socket head bolts with washers. Once all threaded in, go back around and tighten the 3 bolts snuggly to secure the tail tidy in place.
**It would be a good idea to apply medium-strength thread locker (blue Loctite) to the M4 bolt

  18. The single connector leg of the wire harness threads under the throttle side of the trunk. Connect to the OEM harness female plug.

  19. The 2 connector leg of the wire harness threads underneath the 2 wires and out the clutch side of the trunk. Connect to theOEM harness female plug.

  20. Tuck/ route the wire harness wires using the routing tabs like the OEM harness.FUTURISMOTO-Endurance-Light-fig-22

  21. Swing the diagnostic port connector back into place and reinstalling its T20 screw.

  22. Snap the Tail fairings back into place and reinstall the T20 bolts on each side.FUTURISMOTO-Endurance-Light-fig-23
