PREPARATION

Vinyl patch with Adhesive application.

FOR POOL LINERS: Clean all surfaces thoroughly. Use rubbing alcohol or high strength cleaner. DO NOT USE SOAP. Cut the patch out of provided clear vinyl. The patch needs to be at least 1 in. larger than the hole you are patching. Apply adhesive to surface of both liner and patch. Let set for 1-2 minutes. Press glued surfaces together; squeeze out air bubbles and smooth patch from center out. Allow it to dry overnight.

FOR UNDERWATER REPAIR: Cut the patch out of provided clear vinyl. The patch needs to be at least 1 in. larger than the hole you are patching. Apply adhesive to patch and fold patch in half upon itself with glue inside. When you reach the damaged area under water, unfold patch, and apply immediately to liner. Squeeze out air bubbles and smooth patch from center out. Do not disturb the patch for at least 12 hours. Make sure to wear goggles or eye protection when applying patch under water to avoid eye irritation.

FOR INFLATABLES AND OTHER VINYL ITEMS: Apply self-adhesive patch or apply adhesive lightly to pre-cut vinyl patch. Press tightly to the surface to be repaired. Hold in place for 2-3 minutes. Allow it to dry for 12 hours.

Note: On thin vinyl, apply a light coat of adhesive. Too much adhesive can cause damage to the vinyl. The Glued patches are not recommended for use on old, brittle liners as the melding between the two may cause the hole to expand.

PATCH KIT TIPS:

  • Patching process works best in a warm pool.
  • Cut the patch in a round shape as square edges do not adhere evenly.
  • If necessary, use additional glue for secure application.
  • The patch works by melding with the existing liner.

Vinyl peel & stick patch application for light duty use.

Patches can be used on any wet or dry smooth surface. Ensure the area to be repaired is completely clean. If using rectangular patch, trim patch approximately 1 inch larger than hole making sure to round corners. Precut oval patches do not require trimming. Separate paper back from patch. Place patch over center of hole and press firmly, working out all air and water bubbles from under patch to the edges. DO NOT disturb patch for approximately twelve hours. The longer the patch remains the more positive the bond.

FOR UNDERWATER REPAIR: Follow the above instructions, using sufficient pressure to squeeze out all water and air bubbles. Make sure to wear goggles or eye protection when applying patch under water to avoid eye irritation.
