DDP-400 DIGITAL PIANO

BODY ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

  • To ensure the correct assembly of the Piano, read this manual carefully before assembly and place the manual where it is readily available for inspection.
  •  Please remove the main unit from the box and remove the protective cover and foam box. (Packaging and packaging materials must be kept for half a month).
  • During assembly or handling, keep the device raised horizontally.
  •  Be careful of handling, be careful not to pinch your hands, or drop the device to your feet.
  •  Before you screw the screw to the final position, gently tighten the screw slightly more easily. Wait until the screw has entered about normal time and then increase the force. Do not use excessive force when screwing to the final position of the screw, which may damage the screw.
  • After tightening the screws, place the device in a flat and stable place. Do not place it in a fluffy stall or on the ground. In this case, the pedals are easily swayed, resulting in skin lesions.
  • Do not place the main body of the device directly on the floor This will damage the bottom of the interface and bracket, and damage the host’s bottom panel.
  • Open the box, check the box items, such as the screw package is complete.
  • Caution:Be sure to install the pedal to support the bolt. The black plum plastic part of the pedal support handle bolt should be unscrewed until it touches the ground (This largest bolt is to play the role of supporting the pedal force).

CAUTION
Be sure to install the pedal support bolts before depressing the treadle to avoid trampling the tread.

IMPORTANT ITEMS

Before using this product, please read the following important items.

  •  Before using the AC transformer to power the product, you must check whether the AC transformer has any damage.
  • Please check the power code carefully to see if it is broken, bare or has other damage. Do not let children use seriously damaged AC transformer.
  • Children under 3 years old are not allowed to use the product.
  • AC transformer is not a toy.
  •  Before cleaning, you must remove the AC transformer.

NOTES
Before using, please read the following items carefully, and keep the document in a safe place for future reference.

Warning

  •  When using the product, please comply with the following items to operate, so as to avoid serious injuries or death to users due to electric shock, short circuit, accident, fire or other dangers. The items that users need to pay attention to. Note the following, but not only this.
  •  Do not open the electric piano or attempt to disassemble the components, and do not make any changes to the inside. This product does not have the parts that users can repair themselves. (The electronic piano has automatic temperament stabilization system, so it is unnecessary to tune) If there is dysfunction, please contact qualified repairers for checking and maintenance.
  •  Avoid exposing the electronic piano to rain, or using it near watery and humid places. Do not place containers with water on the electron- ic piano, because moisture may flow into the interior of the electronic piano.
  •  If the power cord or plug is worn or damaged, or if power is suddenly cut off during use, and you smell a strange odor or the electronic piano emits smoke, you should turn off the power immediately, remove the power plug, and ask a qualified repairer to check and maintain.
  •  Please ensure that the power supply voltage is 220 V + 10% AC, too high or too low voltage will cause damage to the piano.
  •  Before cleaning the electronic piano, you should turn off the power, remove the power plug. Do not operate with wet hands while the electricity is used. Do not wipe and clean the electronic piano with corrosive solvents.
  •  Regularly check the power switch and the power cord. When changing the fuse, be sure that you have removed the power plug, and ensure the use of the same fuse with the original specifications.

Warning

  •  Users should also obey the following rules during use, which can avoid the damage to the users or others, and the electronic piano or other external devices. The items that users need to pay attention to, are shown as follows, but not limited to these.
  •  Do not place the AC power cord near heat sources, such as a heater. Do not over-bend the power cord, put heavy objects on the power cord, place the power cord in a place where people go and wrap other things on the power cord to avoid damaging the power cord.
  •  When removing the power plug of the product, please take the plug itself, instead of pulling the cord. Please remove the power plug if the electronic piano will not be used for a long time or when it thunders.
  •  Do not place this electronic piano in a dusty, vibrating, cold or hot environment (such as under the impact of direct sunlight, near the heating device or in the transportation tool in the sun) to avoid damaging the appearance of the electronic piano and the internal components.
  •  Before moving the electronic piano, you should remove the power cord and the wires connected to other equipment.
  • When cleaning the electronic piano, please wipe it with a dry and soft cloth. Do not use paint thinner, organic solvents, detergents, or other chemicals with erosion effect to wipe the electronic piano, so as not to discolor the panel or keyboard.
  • When the user connects the electronic piano to other devices, firstly, please turn off all the power switches. Before turning off the power switch, please set the volume to its minimum. When using the instrument, first set the electronic piano’s volume to its minimum then gradually increase the volume until it fits.
  •  Do not place the electronic piano near other appliances, such as TV, radios, speakers, etc. Placing it nearo ther appliances may cause interference between electrical appliances.
  • Do not place the electronic piano in an unstable place so as not to cause the electric piano to fall down.
  • Do not put heavy objects on the electronic piano, do not use excessive force to press the keys and toggle the control switch.
  •  In order to apply to the classroom, auditorium and other occasions, this electronic piano has been designed to have enough volume redundancy. The volume can be adjusted. You should adjust it to the proper value. If you use unreasonable excessive volume for a long time, this doesn’t conform to the common sense of music, but also may cause hearing loss.
  • Avoid the electronic piano encounter a strong collision. Collisions may cause damage to the electronic piano and cause personal injury.

PREPARE BEFORE USE
This chapter will introduce the function jacks related to the electronic piano and give out some information before playing. Before opening the power switch of the electronic piano, please read the following items.

POWER CONNECTION

  1.  Confirm whether the power switch is turned off, if it is not, please tumn off the power switch.

  2. Connect the power cord, firstly insert the plug into the DC jack on the back of the electronic piano then plug the other end of the
    power adapte into the power outlet.

  3.  Before opening the power, adjust all volume controllers to the minimum.

  4. When turning off the power of the electronic piano, first tune all volume controllers to the minimum then turn off the powe switch.

Warning
When you don’t use the electronic piano,or when it thunders, please remove the power plug.
Please ensure that the power supply voltage is 220V + 10% AC, too high or too low voltage will cause damage to the electronic piano. And the power socket should be a triangle, it should be grounded.
Do not remove the power cord from the power socket when the electronic piano is still opened.

THREE PEDAL INTERFACE
Three – pedal
According to the traditional grand piano, the electronic piano is manufactured. It adopts a damper pedal, a sostenuto pedal and a soft pedal which are same to that of the traditional grand piano.
Step on the pedal to open; Release the pedal to close.
Please connect the pedal cord to the pedal connector at the bottom of the piano.
Damper pedal
(Right) After depressing the damper pedal, notes will be extended; After releasing, the portamento effect is closed immediately.
If you step on the damper pedal there, the note and the note that you played before releasing the pedal will extend longer.

Sostenuto pedal
(Middle) Press and hold the note key while depressing the pedal, which can prolong the pressed note (as if depressing the damper pedal) but the subsequent notes will not stretch.
This can lengthen the chord or single bass note while playing other sounds in a staccato way.
If you press and hold the note,while depressing the back damper pedal, this can extend the note until the pedal is released.

Soft pedal
(Left) Depress the soft pedal to reduce the volume of the note that you are playing, at this time, the timbre changes. The notes played before depressing the pedal are not affected.

Before depressing the pedal,be sure that you have instakked the pedal support screw and it is fully grounded.

CONTROL PANEL

  1.  +-KEY
    (1) You can press one of them for a short time to adjust the function selected.
    (2) You can press one of them for a long time to fast adjust the function selected.
    (3) Press the two keys at the same time to make the function selected restore to its default value.
    (4) For some optional functions, +/- key stands for Yes/No or ON/OFF.

  2. VOICE/STYLE
    VOICE
    (1) If the current status is not the timbre selection, press the key of timbre/rhythm to switch to the timbre selection status, the indicator lamp lights.
    (2) [+/-]Key adjusting
    (3) The default choice is the main keyboard piano timbre.
    (4) When the split function is opened, the left hand keyboard timbre is selected.
    (5) When the dual function is opened, the second layer of music is selected.
    RHYTHM
    (1) If the current status is not the rhythm selection, press the key of timbre/rhythm to switch to the rhythm selection status, the indicator lamp flashes.
    (2) [+-IKEY ADJUSTING
    (3) [START/STORP] key for starting/stopping rhythm
    (4) A, B Intro/Ending 3 groups of paragraph control
    (5) When stopping the rhythm, press the key of INTRO/END one time to insert Intro, press it again to cancel the inserting of Ending. When playing, insert this key to insert the Ending at the same time, the indicator lamp flashes.
    (6) When stopping the rhythm, press the key of A/SY START or the key of B/SY STOP for a short time to choose the main paragraph A or B, at the same time, the indicator lamp lights. When it is playing, press the key for a short time to insert the interlude, then return to the main paragraph. While inserting the interlude, the indicator lamp.
    (7) Pressing the key of A/Sy Start or the key of B/Sy Stop for a long time to open turn off the function of A SY START/ B SY STOP. When the function of SY START is opened, the rhythm stops with the release of the chord.

  3.  START/STOP
    Start the rhythm pattern and turn off the rhythm pattern.

  4. AISY START B/SY STOP
    A, B, Intro /Ending 3 groups of paragraph control; long press [A/SY START B/SY STOP] can choose to open or close the A/SY START B/SY STOP function; When the A/SY START function is on, press any key or active chord to A/SY START the rhythm; when the B/SY STOP function is on, the rhythm stops synchronously with the chord release.

  5.  METRO
    Press the [METRO] button to turn the metronome on / off, the indicator light [On].

  6.  MEM1 MEM2
    (1) Long press [MEM1]/ [MEM2] to save all current user settings to the selected memory location, the indicator light [ON];
    (2) Short press [MEM1)/ [MEM2] key to recall the user settings of the selected memory location.

  7.  FUNITRANS
    Function: Short press [Function/Trans] key to enter the respective function adjustment status, indicator [BRIGHT] Transpose: Long press [Function/Trans] key to enter Transpose adjustment state, indicator [Flash]; [+, -] key adjustment.

  8. INTRO/END
    Press the [INTRO/END] key, and then press the [START / STOP] key to enter the prelude of the auto accompaniment. To stop the accompaniment, press the [START/STOP] key. then the electric piano automatically play a piece of ending music, the end of playing automatically play.

  9.  TEMPO
    (1) Press the [TEMPO] key to enter the speed adjustment status, the indicator light [ON];
    (2) [+/-] key adjustment;
    (3) Adjustable rhythm, metronome, songs, recordspeed.

  10. CHORD
    (1) Press the [CHORD] key combination at the same time to turn on / off the auto chord;
    (2) Auto chord can recognize single-finger chords and multi-finger chords at the same time.

  11. REC
    (1) Press [REC] key combination simultaneously, enter record preparation state;
    (2) [+/] key to select the track you want to record;
    (3) play any key or an effective chord A SY/START record.
    (4) Press [REC] again to finish record.

  12.  PLAY
    Simultaneously press the [PLAY] key combination to start / stop playing.

  13.  CLEAN
    Simultaneously Press [CLEAN] key combination , according to the prompt operation can delete the currently selected user record content; press [+] key to confirm.

  14.  DEMO
    (1) Simultaneously press the [DEMO] key combination to open / stop the demo song, and switch to the demo song selection status; (2) [+/-] key adjustment; the user record, and simultaneously switch to the user record selection state, [+/-] key adjustment;

  15.  MASTER VOL
    Turn the knob of total volume to adjust the main volume of the piano.

  16.  RHYTHM VoL
    Turn the knob of accompaniment volume to adjust the piano’s accompaniment volume, demo music volume, metronome volume.

  17. SWITCH
    Before opening the power switch of the host, please tune all volume down to the minimum.

DEMO SONG / INTELLINGENT TEACHING FUNCTION

Play demo song
Digital Piano has 120 built-in demo songs, including 20 normal demo songs and 100 Cherney teaching
demo songs, used to demonstrate its rich and colorful sound and beautiful sound quality.
Users can have a preliminary understanding of this piano through the demo songs.
Simultaneously press the [MEM1 MEM2] and [MEM1 MEMZ2] combination keys to start demo song function, and the screen is shown on the right. All the demo songs will be played back in sequence. You can press [+] or [-]key in the process to select the previous song or the next song, and the display will show the name of ihe correspond-ing track (for deiails(please refer to the demo song list on page 13). If you want to quickly select the song you can hold down the [+] or [-] button, and at this time the track will quickly flip .\When the demo song is playing, press the [TEMPQ] button, then press the [+][-] button to change the play speed of the current demo song.

Cherny teaching and practice functions
In addition to the digital piano 1-20 normal demo song, there are 100 examples of Cherny Etude and intelligent teaching function. For example: Press the [MEM1] and [MEM2] combination keys first to start the demonstration song function, and then press the [+] key to bring up the first one. The screen will be displayed synchronously as shown below; Press the [FUNCTION / TRANS] key until the [ACTUAL FUNCTION] word appears on the screen, as shown in the figure below. Press the [+] or [-] key to select the right hand trainer or the left trainer as shown below.

METRONOME

The digital piano has built-in international standard metronome, as a reference for practice or performance. Press the [METRO] button, the metronome starts working, and the button light is on. Press the [TEMPO] button, the indicator light, and the screen shown below. Press the [+] [-] key to speed up or slow down the metronome. Press the [FUNCTION / TRANS] button several times while the metro- nome is working until [BEEP TYPE] appears on the screen.
Press the [+][-] key at this time to select different beats, as shown in the figure, and the order is 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, 6/8, 9/8, 12/8. Metro- nome speeds are consistent with those set for auto accompaniment or etudes and demo songs. Press the [METRO] button again and the metronome stops working. Use the accompaniment volume knob to adjust the volume of the melody independently without changing the master volume of the piano.

TIMBRE

Timbre selection
This digital piano has 128 international standard timbres GM and 10 sets of drum percussiontimbres.
For details, please refer to Appendix “Timbres List”
In the boot default, it is the timbreselect state. Press [+][-] key to select the desired timbre, and long press [+][-] key to quickly switch the desired timbre. The screen will display the timbre name synchronously. As shown on the right; Simultaneously press the [+] [-] key to restore the default timbre(grand pianotimbre)

Dual
The Dual feature allows you to hear a superposition of two timbreswhen playing a key,

  1. Press the [FUN/TRANS] button several times until the screen appears [Dual] as shown on the right;
  2. Press [+] key to open dual function, and press [-] key to close dual function.

Forexample: Combine “carillon” timbre with “bass saxophone” timbre, the operation is as follows:
Press the [FUN/TRANS] button to switch to the timbre selection mode, and press the [+] button to switch to the “Carillon” tone corresponding to the number “10”. Press [FUN/TRANS] several times until the screen appears [Dual] and press [+] to turn it on, then press [FUN/TRANS] again to switch to the state of timbre selection, press [+] to switch to “Bass Sax” corresponding to number “68” .The timbre is the dual of “Glockenspiel” and “Bass Sax”.

Split
When playing with the keyboard split mode, the keyboard is divided into the left and right parts by the keyboard split point. The right part is played by the normal music, while the left part of the keyboard is played by another sound. You can also make the left and right keyboard play out the same pitch.
For example: let the left keyboard change into “glockenspiel” timbre and the right keyboard into a “bass saxophone” timbre, the operation is as follows:
Press the [VOICE/STYLE] key to switch to the timbre selection mode, and press [+] key to select the “Bass Saxophone” key correspond-ing to the number “68”, and then press the [FUN/TRANS] button until [Dual] appears on the screen. Press the [+] button to activate the Dual Keyboard function. Press the [VOICE/STYLE] button again to switch to the timbre selection state. Press [+] to select the left “Carillon” sound, making it correspond to the number “10”. At this time, both the left and right keyboards

AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT
There are 100 kinds of automatic accompaniment, composed of percussion rhythm and instrumental accompaniment, representing a variety of different musical styles, and these styles are basically determined bythe rhythm.
Rhythm selection
Press [START/STOP] key to start rhythm accompaniment, and press [Music/ Rhythm] key to switch to rhythm selection state, and the indicator light flashes. The screen synchronously displays as shown on the right. Press [+] or [-] key to switch to the rhythm you need (Refer to page 12 for the tempo list). Press the [TEMPO] button, then press the [+] [-] button to adjust the tempo of the current tempo, and press the [START / STOP] button again to stop the tempo accompaniment.
Note: Long press [A/SY START] [B/SY STOP] key to select whether to enable or disable the A/SY START function. When the A/SY START function is on, press any key or a valid chord. A/SY START rhythm; When the B/SY STOP function is on, the rhythm is released as the chord.

Chord separation point for natural accompaniment
“The natural accompaniment and chord separation points divide the keyboard into two areas. The left side of the separation point is the accompaniment area. The right is the melody area. The preset separation point is the A key (A group key) and this separation point can be changed; Press the [FUN/TRANS ] button several times until the “Chord Split Point” appears on the screen. The default separation point now shows the number “25” (25 refers to the number from the left to the right of the keyboard contains black keys, up to 25, that is the A group of large keys). Press the [+][-] key at this time to change the keyboard chord separation point.
Auto accompaniment mode
There are three auto accompaniment modes to choose from: one-finger chord, multi-fingerchord, full keyboard mode.
Single chord / Fingered chords
In single-finger chord mode, the four most basic chords can be played using the simplest fingering (one finger, two fingers or up to three fingers).
Junior Chord: Play the root note of the chord
Triad: Simultaneously plays the root of the chord and a black key adjacent to the left.
Aseventh chord: Play chords and roots together with a white key adjacent to the left.
Small seven chords: Simultaneously playing the chord root and the left side of the adjacent white and black keys (three keys at the same time play).
In Fingered mode, you can play more chord types than single-finger mode. It automatically produces the accompanying accompaniment based on the full chord played, so it is more suitable for those who are familiar with chords playing on the keyboard.
Note: If an unrecognizable chord is played while the accompaniment is in progress, keep the existing chords constant.
Full keyboard mode
‘When entering Full Keyboard mode, chords can be played throughout the keyboard without being limited to the auto accompaniment keypad.
Set “Full Keyboard Mode” Instructions: Press [Function / Shift] several times until [Chord Split] appears on the screen and then press the rightmost key of the keyboard. At this time, you can enterthe full keyboard mode.

Using Auto Accompaniment function
A/ B section inserted
‘When using Auto Accompaniment, the performance of the song can be enriched by different performance modes of Section A and Section B. When the rhythm stops state,short press [A/ SY START] or press [B / SY STOP] key to select main paragraph A or B, and the indicator light is on. Then press the [START / STOP] key to enter the auto chord accompaniment of the A or B segment selected by the user. When the rhythm is playing, press the [A/ SY START] key briefly or the [B / SY STOP] key briefly to insert the door and return to the selected main paragraph.
INTRO/END
Press the [INTRO/END] key, and then press the [START STOP] key to enter the Auto Accompaniment Prelude, and you can press [START / STOP] key to stop Auto Accompaniment function. When the rhythm is playing, press the [INTRO/END] key again, and the electric piano will play an ending piece automatically, ending the automatic accompaniment.

FUNCTION
Short press [FUN/TRANS] key continuously to enter the following function adjustment status, and indicator is on.

Reverb Type: Select the reverb type
Reverb depth: Adjusts the reverb depth
Chorus type: Choose a chorus type
Chorus depth: Adjust the chorus depth
Harmony type: Choose harmony type
Equalizer Type: Choose the type of Equalizer
Strength type: Choose the strength type
Beat Type: Choose Beat Type| Practice features: used to demo song with the practice;
Octave: keyboard octave adjustment
Tuning: treble fine tuning (instrument range of Hertz)
Dual: Turns dual on / off
Split: Split function on /off
Dual volume: Dual second timbre volume adjustment
Left keyboard volume: double keyboard around the keyboard volume
Keyboard separation point: Dual keyboard separation point adjustment
Chord separation point: Rhythm chord area separation point adjustment

RECORD

Record function
Simultaneously press [START/ STOP] [INTRO/END] key combination to start the record function, then enter the record preparation state, as shown in the following figure.
Press [+] or [-] key to select the track to be recorded. Press any key or synchronize with the chord to start recording, and the upper left box turns into a circle, as shown in the figure below. Press the [START / STOP] [INTRO/END] button simultaneously to stop  ending the current recording.
Record play/stop
Press the [A/ SY START] [B / SY STOP] button simultaneously to play / stop user recording.
Clear the record
Simultaneously press the [METRO] and [TEMPO] combination key to enter the clear state, then press the [+] key to confirm the deletion to delete the currently selected user record, as shown below.

TRANSPOSE

Transpose in semitone steps, adjust the keyboard pitch up or down to a maximum of 24 semitones. Long press 3 seconds [FUN/TRANS] key to enter the transpose adjustment state, and the indicator light flashes, the screen as shown below. Adjust the desired pitch by [+] [-] key. To restore the factory pitch, press the [+] [-] key simultaneously while the transpose adjustment is in process.

MEMORY
Storage is commonly used as functions, timbre, rhythm shortcuts. Long press [MEM1] or [MEM2] to save all the current user settings to the selected storage location, and the indicator light is on. Shortly press the [MEM1] or [MEM2] key to recall the selected user settings for storage location.

BLUETOOTH OPERATION

Search and connect the Bluetooth device through your smartphone, which is named “PIANO AUDIO”, then you could play music by this digital piano. The Bluetooth function is in standby mode, when the digital piano is powered on.
MIDI
MIDI is an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, a worldwide standard name for digital signals and connectors. Music data can be transferred between instruments and computers (machines) produced by different manufacturers through MIDI, which also have arranger, composer, computer record and other functions. Behind this instrument there is a USB interface and standard MIDI input and output interface. Please turn off the electric piano power before connecting the computer and other equipment.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Problem Reasons Solution
No sound when pressing the keyboard keys Cause 1 : The volume controller is

set at the minimum ‘—’ position.
Cause 2 : An earphone or plug adapter is inserted in one of the earphone jacks.
Cause 3 : The power is not connected to the family 220V or piano is off,| Solution 1: Turn the volume control to the right maximum volume’+’
Solution 2: Unplug all  headphone jack connectors.
Solution 3: Turn on the home power, then press the “POWER” button to boot.
Digital piano tone is not accurate| Cause 1: The digital piano’s pitch setting is not “0”.
Cause 2: Octave shift function is changed.
Cause 3: The digital piano is not tuned correctly.| Solution 1: Long press the [Function / Transpose] key for 3 seconds to adjust the number to “0”.

Solution 2: the function of the octave shift function value is set to”0″.

Solution 3: Set the tuning value in the function to “0”.

Digital piano cannot send data after connecting with PC.| | 1. Check and confirm that the USB data cable is connected to the digital piano and computer, and the computer software has selected the correct music equipment.
2. Turn off the digital piano power supply, and then end the music software on :he computer. Then tum the Digital Piano back on and restart the music software on your computer.
Pedal does not work| Cause 1: pedal connection jack is not plugged into the host.
Cause 2: One end of the pedal is loose.| Solution 1: Plug the pedal cord into the main body socket
Solution 2: Ensure that the pedal
connection cable connected to one end of the pedal is tight.
When working with the iphone / ipad / pod touch / Android tablet app, you can hear noise from the digital piano’s built-in speakers or headphones| Signal interference| Solution: Before connecting the Digital Piano to the iphone / ipad / ipod touch /Android tablet, turn on the device’s flight mode or away from other electronics home appliances.
