HIFI VOCAL PASSIVE BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS

In order to meet the needs of high-end auditory groups for the high degree of human voice reduction, after 3 years of research and design, Donner launched the M20-4 passive Hifi-class handmade wooden speakers focusing on mid-to-high frequencies.
The tweeter part of this speaker adopts the newly designed separated guardrail, which spreads high frequencies through the gap between the guardrails and makes the listeners feel the consistent and undiminished human voice effect from different angles.

HI-FI TWEETERS

With an aerodynamic guardrail design, the treble is spread evenly, and the reproduction is extremely high when listening to vocals

4-INCH WOOFER

The 4-inch long-stroke woofer adopts a polymer material diaphragm, which makes the speaker have excellent damping characteristics, low distortion, high efficiency and fast transient response.

PRECISE FREQUENCY DIVIDER

The second-order frequency divider with high-precision mid/woofer unit optimize the time-domain consistency between each sound unit, making the sound field highly restored.

REFLEX PORT

With precise acoustic tuning and design, the reflex port tube can extend low frequency sound waves and avoid wind noise from fast-moving air.

FEATURES

  • Excellent Treble Performance: Donner passive bookshelf speakers adopts HIFI-level tweeter, combined with aerodynamic guardrail design, so that the treble distribution is even, the penetration is good, and the expressiveness is strong. The high resolution of the speakers can restore the details of the human voice, making the music sound soft and comfortable.
  • 4-inch Mid-low Frequency: The 4-inch long-stroke woofer of Donner passive bookshelf speakers adopts a polymer material diaphragm, which makes the speaker have excellent damping characteristics, low distortion, high efficiency and fast transient response.
  • Precise Frequency Divider: The second-order frequency divider with high-precision mid/woofer unit installed in the speaker makes the sound quality of the whole system fully play to the extreme level. It also optimizes the time domain consistency between each sound unit, which makes the sound field highly restored.
  • High Density Wooden Box: The cabinet of the passive bookshelf speaker pair is made of MDF with a thickness of 0.7 inches. Hand polishing completes every detail of the speakers.
  • Wide Range of Applications: The speakers can handle RMS 40W MAX power (Note: a power amplifier is needed to match with it). It can be used as a stereo bookshelf speaker for playing music, or it can be used for home theater, and it can be combined with other speakers to form a surround sound speaker system.

Warranty & Support

Product Warranty:  For warranty information about this product.

Why is the tweeter covered by a metal grill?****

The metal component has a protective purpose.

How long do Donner M20-4 passive speakers last?****

A good set of passive loudspeakers can last a lifetime, which is one of its many benefits. The technological capabilities of passive loudspeakers are unrestricted, in contrast to many powered and active models of today. No firmware upgrade or new wireless protocol will make them permanently obsolete.

What do I need with Donner M20-4 passive speakers?****

To receive audio from your home theatre equipment (let’s example, a turntable), passive speakers must be connected to a stereo receiver. Passive speakers must always be linked to the receiver through speaker wire; you cannot plug your turntable directly into them.

Do Donner M20-4 passive speakers sound better?****

Although active speakers don’t always sound better than passive ones, you are aware of what you are getting when you purchase them. The amplifier is integrated and made to produce the best audio quality possible with the speaker. You must select your own amplifier if you’re using passive speakers.

Are Donner M20-4 bookshelf speakers passive?****

Bookshelf speakers typically consist of two drivers, a tweeter and a woofer, and are passive speakers (i.e., they lack built-in amplification) (for the high and low frequencies, respectively). Because of their small size, they should be set up on a table or bookshelf so that they are at ear level.

How do Donner M20-4 passive speakers get power?****

In order to function, passive speakers must also be connected to an AC power source, an external battery, or another power supply. In order for it to work, the external amplifier also needs to be connected to a power outlet or other power source. You need both passive speakers in order to function properly.

What cables are used for Donner M20-4 passive speakers?****

Standard phone cables contain a single shielded core, whereas passive speakers utilise specialised speaker cables (unshielded) with two cores. For ordinary use, such as with home audio systems, speaker cables are stripped.

Can I connect Donner M20-4 passive speaker to active speaker?****

Powered speakers and passive speakers can be combined and connected using the Red/Black standard connection or bi-wiring with the necessary twin cables. Because powered speakers draw a lot of power, passive speakers are frequently connected to powered speakers to prevent overloading the power supply.

Can you convert Donner M20-4 passive speakers to active?****

With an external power source, a passive speaker can be converted to an active one. Usually, an amplifier is used to generate the phantom power required to generate the instrument sound. A different source is needed in order to transform a passive speaker without an amplifier.

Can you Donner M20-4 power passive speakers with a mixer?****

From a powered mixer, passive speakers can be operated.

How can I power a Donner M20-4 passive speaker without an amp?****

Since AV receivers have the power to amplify passive speakers, they can frequently take the role of an external amplifier. You could, for instance, use a phono cable to link your passive speaker wire to the apparatus, then to the computer’s sound output.

How does Donner M20-4 passive speaker work?****

An amplified signal is used by passive speakers to operate. The signal is separated into those low and high frequencies in a circuit known as a crossover if the speaker has more than one driver (such as a mid/bass unit and a tweeter). A major benefit is flexibility.

How do I connect my amp to my Donner M20-4 passive speakers?****

Connect the RED, Positive (+) terminal on the RIGHT channel of the amplifier to the RED (+) terminal of the RIGHT loudspeaker. Connect the loudspeaker’s BLACK (-) terminal to the amplifier’s BLACK, Negative (-) terminal. Follow the same steps for the LEFT channel.

Do Donner M20-4 bookshelf speakers need a receiver?****

The majority of home theatre speakers are passive, which means that in order for them to function, they must be connected to a stereo receiver. However, many bookshelf speakers are powered, which means they have an amplifier built into them. This is especially true of those that are intended to be connected to computers.
