Important Safeguards

Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this charger is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.

WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

  • This charger is not a toy. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the charger.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
  • Examine the battery charger regularly for damage, especially the cord, plug, and enclosure. If the battery charger is damaged, it must not be used until it has been repaired.
  • Use chargers only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
  • Do not use a battery pack or charger that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
  • Do not expose a battery pack or charger to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 265°F (130°C) may cause an explosion.
  • Do not use this charger in a damp environment.
  • Do not expose the charger to rain or snow. Water entering the charger may result in electric shock or fire.
  • Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or use the charger outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
  • Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
  • This will ensure that the safety of the charger is maintained.
  • This charger is intended to be correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mount position.
  • Place the charger on flat non-flammable surfaces and away from flammable materials. Carpeting and other heat-insulating surfaces block proper air circulation which may cause overheating of the charger and battery pack. If smoke or melting of the charger or battery pack is observed, unplug the charger immediately and do not use the battery pack or charger.
  • Do not touch the uninsulated portion of charging pins or insulated battery terminals.
  • There is a risk of electric shock.

Extension cords

AN EXTENSION CORD SHOULD NOT BE USED UNLESS NECESSARY.

The use of improper extension cords could result in a risk of fire and electrical shock. If an extension cord is used, make sure:

  • a. The pins on the plug of the extension cord are the same number, size, and shape as those of the plug-on charger.
  • b. The extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition.
  • C. The wire size is large enough for the AC ampere rating of the charger as specified below:
