Product Operation

Step 1 – Lid Knob Assembly
Insert Lid Knob (1) into the Lid (2), and fasten the Lid Knob (1) with a screw. (Figure 1)Waterdrop-WD-TK-A-Gravity-Fed-Water-Filter-System-
FIG-4

Step 2 – Spigot Assembly
Firstly, push the flat washer (16) and the rubber washer (17) to the end, close to the spigot, of its thread rod with force; then, insert the well- assembled spigot into the lower chamber (10), install another flat washer and rubber washer, and finally fasten the hex nut (11) with a wrench (13). Step 3 – Flush Filters

Carbon Filter (Figure 3)

  1. Loosen the Wing Nut (8) to adjust it to the top position with enough space reserved to hold the height of the Priming Washer (14), and screw the Priming Washer (14) above the Wing Nut (8).
  2. Attach the Carbon Fiber (5) to a water outlet of your faucet to make a tight seal by means of the Priming Washer (14); if tight seal fails, adjust the Wing Nut (8) upwards again.
  3. Flush the Carbon Fiber (5) for at least 60 seconds or until the water runs clear.Waterdrop-WD-TK-A-Gravity-Fed-Water-Filter-System-FIG-6

*Fluoride Filter (Only applicable to WD-TK-F/WD-TK-FS)**
“Attach the Fluoride Filter 9) to the water outlet of your faucet to make a tight seal by means of the Priming Washer(14), and flush the Fluoride Filter (9) for at least 120 seconds or until the water runs clear.” (Figure 4 )Waterdrop-WD-TK-A-Gravity-Fed-Water-Filter-System-

Step 4 – Filters Installation
Carbon Filter Installation (Figure 5) Insert the threaded rod of the Carbon Filter (5) into the hole in the upper chamber (6) and fasten the threaded rod of the Carbon Filter (5) with the Filter Washer (7) and the Wing Nut (8) sequentially.Waterdrop-WD-TK-A-Gravity-Fed-Water-Filter-System-

*Fluoride Filter Installation (Only applicable to WD-TK-F/WD-TK-FS)**
Place the upper chamber (6) upside down, and screw the Fluoride Filter (9) with the “IN” indicator to the threaded rod of each Carbon Filter (5). Turn the upper chamber over for installation. (Figure 6)Waterdrop-WD-TK-A

Step 5 – Upper and Lower Chamber Assembly ( denotes optional)
Place the upper chamber (6) gently into the lower chamber (10), put the lid on the upper chamber, and put the lower chamber onto the Stand (12). The Stand (12) is only applicable to WD-TK-S/WD-TK-FS. (Figure 7)Waterdrop-WD-TK-A

Step 6 – Flush the Filtration System
Fill the upper chamber with water, pour out the first bucket of water in the lower chamber (6), and repeat the step again. After 2-3 times of flushing, you can drink water from King Tank.

NOTE: Do not use with water that is micro-biologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

Operation and Use Tips

  1. Ensure that the spigot (15) is in the closed position during the first time operation and after each re-priming.
  2. The red ball in the water level tube indicates the height of the water level in the lower chamber. Add water into the upper chamber according to the height of the floating ball. Do not add water if the red ball is in the highest point.
  3. If you plan to leave your system unused for more than three days, empty both the upper and lower chambers, remove all filtration elements, and allow the components to dry.
  4. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

Maintenance

  1. The whole system should be cleaned at least once a month.
    • Remove the filter cartridges, spigots and other attached components first, and then clean the chambers with water and dish soap.
NOTE: If the water for cleaning contains viruses or bacteria, add 16 drops of bleach to per gallon of water. If the stainless steel chambers are cleaned in the dishwasher, remove all parts and attachments first.

Storing the Filter

  • Unused filter can be stored indefinitely in their original packaging. Do not store with fragrant items.
  • Do not store the filter in the freezer.
  • Always re-flush the filter before using again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why does the flow get slow?

  • To determine if the carbon filter have been successfully installed.
  • If the filter produces microbubbles, please take down the filter, soak it in water for 10-20 seconds, and reinstall it.
  • The surface of the filter may be covered with particulate matter, thus causing decreased water flow. Please replace the filter timely based on its lifespan.

Q: Why does my water filtration system leak where the upper and lower chambers fit together?
A: There is not a water-tight seal between the upper and lower chambers of the system. After the lower chamber is filled with water, water inside can spill over. Please pay attention to water level change of the faucet.

Q: Why does the upper chamber still contain water after filtering the process?
A: It is normal for one to two inches of water to remain in the upper chamber. This system is gravity filters and as the water level in the upper chamber decreases the filtering process will naturally slow down because there is less water pressure available to force water through the elements.

Q: Why is filtered water in lower chamber cloudy?
A: Cloudy water may indicate that filters still contain some manufacturing dust and require additional flushing. If the water filtering through filters continues to be cloudy in appearance, contact Customer Service 1-888-352-3558 (U.S.).

Q: Why is the TDS value not reduced after filtration?
A: Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are the total amount of mobile charged ions including minerals, salts or metals dissolved in a given volume of water. The gravity-fed water filter system reduces harmful substances and remain beneficial minerals. If you are looking for water purifiers to reduce TDS, please choose the RO water filtration system.

Q: My Filtered Water has an unexpected taste, what can I do?

  • To ensure the filter are properly filtering the water, follow the Carbon Filter Installation to check if it’s properly installed.
  • Flush the filter for another 1-2 min.

NOTE: The fluoride removal test is performed under the standard conditions of a third-party laboratory, and actual performance may vary.
