Installation steps:
In order to adapt to different sizes of pipes, the inlet and exit of the system through the adapter, can choose two thread specifications (3 / 4 “MNPT, 1” FNPT), which can be connected with PEX, CPVC, PPR and copper pipe. Please choose the appropriate joint connection mode according to the size of the pipe in the home.
Pay attention to the direction of the water flow when installing.
NOTE: When turning Filter switch handle, make sure the pointer is aligned with the words, otherwise it will cause poor filtration effect or no water.

  1. Shut off the main inlet valve. Turn on the faucet to release the pressure inside the pipe, And rotate the filter switch to the on state.

  2. Take out the 3/4° FNPT & I’MNPT adapter, insert the threaded union into the union nut and install the white gasket, and install the assembled adaptor on both sides and tighten it with awrench. (Figure 1)

  3. Wrap more than 10 loops of Tefion tape on the external thread of the union on both sides. Install two 3/4 in. Brass PEX-A Barb x 3/4 in. MNPT male or 3/4 in. Brass PEX-A Barb x 1 in. FNPT Female Adapters (not included in the box) on the adapter, and tighten it with a wrench. (Figure 2)Waterdrop WD_BG100 Mega Spin Down Sediment Filter - Figer

  4. Cut off the appropriate length of the PEX pipe. Fix the pipe on the system with two 3/4 in. Stainless Steel PEX Barb Pinch Clamps (not included in the box). Pay attention to the water inlet direction, and do not install it in the opposite direction. You can also use an expansion ring to fix the pipe.

  5. Finding out the installation position of the filter, fix the hanging plate on the wall through the expansion screw, and put the whole filter on the hanging plate to ensure the system level. (Figure 3)

  6. Install the quick-connect threaded connector on the drain port, and then insert the drain tubing into the quick-connect threaded connector. Ensure that the tubing is inserted in place.
You can lead the drain to sewage outlets or a bucket. (Figure 4)

  7. Screw the Filter switch handle to backwash. Slowly turn on the main inlet valve. Turn off the water outlet after the domestic water equipment is able to dispense water. Be sure to check whether there is water leakage or slow water seepage at the joints. At the same time, open the drain valve for about 3 minutes to purge the air from the system, and then check whether there is water leakage. If there is water leakage, check whether the joint is tight.

Open the drain valve and flush for 3 minutes. After the valve is shut off and Screw the Filter switch handle t0 ON, the system can be used normally.

Operation and maintenance

  1. Filtration status
When the unfiltered water enters the filter from the inlet and passes through the filter mesh’s inner core, the large particles are intercepted on the outer surface of the mesh, and the filtered water flows from the outlet to the rear stage pipe.Waterdrop WD_BG100 Mega Spin Down Sediment Filter - Figer

  2. Flushing status
The tap water enters the filter through the inlet, passes through a stainless steel mesh, and then goes through a PP cotton filter to complete the filtration process. Please refer to the diagram for the water flow. Waterdrop WD_BG100 Mega Spin Down Sediment Filter - Figer

  3. Clean the filter mesh
When some sticky impurities are embedded in the filter mesh and cannot be discharged after the drain valve is turned on, which also affects the water output and pressure of the other equipment, the filter mesh should be flushed.
    a. Screw the Filter switch handle to off. Turn on the drain valve and release to pressure in the pipe
    b. Place the wrench on the fixed collar, make sure the handle fits into the lock ring slot, and unscrew the lock ring clockwise. Please note the sharp thread to prevent injury. It is recommended to catch the residual water in the filter housing with a container.
    c. Take out the filter mesh and remove the impurities with a cleaning solution or brush. NOTE: Do not use a strong acid or alkaline cleaning solution.
    d. Put the clean filter mesh back to the filter housing.
    e. Tighten the filter housing and machine head with a wrench.

  4. Replace the PP filter element
NOTE: The ife of the filter element s actually different according to the local water quality. Please reqularly check the color of the filter element and the water flow rate, and replace the filter element promptly according to the pictures on the product label We recommend replacing the PP cotton filter cartridge every 6 months.
    a. Screw the Filter switch handle to OFF. Open the drain valve and release the pressure in the pipe.
    b. Place the wrench on the fixed collar, make sure the handle fits into the lock ring slot, and unscrew the lock ring clockwise. Please note the sharp thread to prevent injury. It is recommended to catch the residual water in the filter housing with a container.
Take out the whole filter element, one hand holds the lower half of the filter cartridge component shell, one hand holds the filter cartridge compo- nent cover with the other hand, screw the upper cover counterclockwise and pull out the upper cover. (Figure 5) c. Remove the old PP cotton filter element and put the new PP cotton filter element into the filter element shell. Install the top cover and tighten clockwise to ensure that the top cover is locked.
    d. Put the filter element back to the filter case. (Figure 6)
    e. Tighten the filter head and retaining ring with a wrench.
NOTE: Sharp thread, operate carefully to prevent injury. (Figure 7)

Troubleshooting

Issues Possible Causes Solutions
No outlet water. The water source does not have water. Wait for water to

come back on.
The inlet valve is not turned on.| Turn on the inlet valve.
The filter switch handle is not screwed to the correct position.| Align the filter switch handle with the “ON” symbol.
Low outlet flow.| The inlet valve is not fully turned on.| Fully open the inlet valve.
The surface of the filter is partially blocked.| To clean the filter mesh and remove impurities or debris, or to replace it with a new PP cotton filter cartridge, please purchase the product with model : WO-BG100
The filter switch handle is not screwed to the correct position| Align the filter switch handle with the “ON” symbol.
Water leakage at the joint.| There’re loose parts at the leaking location.| Retighten the threaded joint with a wrench.
The sealing gaskets at the leaking location are damaged.| Replace the sealing gaskets.
Filter parts have been disassembled.| Check if the seal gaskets’re misaligned or missing.
Not enough Teflon tape on the threads.| Reapply Teflon tape and tighten.

Warning

  1. Do not use soap, detergent, diluent, gasoline, alcohol, or other volatile solvents to clean the system. Otherwise, it may cause cracks, scratches, and discoloration.
  2. Do not install or store the system in a location exposed to direct sunlight, as this may cause the aging of the product parts, or clog the filter because of the algae growth.
  3. Do not place the system near flammable or volatile substances, heat sources, or fire.
  4. Do not install the system in an outdoor environment. Be sure to use the system at a temperature of 41-100°F. When the water temperature is below 32°F, shut off the water supply and drain the residual water to prevent the system from freezing and being damaged.
  5. The working pressure of this system is14.5-72 psi. When the water pressure is lower or higher, install a pressurizer or a pressure reducer accordingly.
