Notes

These instructions were written for a North American-specification B8 S4. Other vehicles, like the B8.5 S4 and S5’s, are similar. When disassembling the car, be sure to keep all fasteners so they can be reused. It is recommended that you get some kind of compartmented tray to organize the fasteners, such as a fishing tackle box or several large ice cube trays. Fasteners that are not reused for reinstallation are noted in the instructions. All directions used in this manual (right, left, front, etc.) are based on if you were sitting in the driver’s seat of the car. These instructions assume that you have basic mechanical skills and several varieties of basic hand tools to install the kit. If you have any questions about the installation, feel free to contact your APR representative.

Installation

  1. Raise the hood on the car, and then loosen the hose clamp on the back side of the accordion intake tube at the throttle body.
  2. Loosen the hose clamp on the accordion tube at the APR intake heat shield. Detach the rubber hose that is clipped on the side of the accordion tube Carefully twist and remove the stock inlet tube assembly out of the car, disconnecting it from the back of the APR airbox and the throttle body inlet.
  3. Loosely build the shown assembly with the four hose clamps, two couplers, and APR inlet tube. After peeling off the adhesive backing, attach the APR logo in the indented location on the inlet tube.
  4. Install the APR inlet hose assembly on the car, connecting to the throttle body inlet and the back of the airbox. Make sure the hose that was connected to the top of the factory inlet is on top of the APR inlet assembly. Position and tighten all four hose clamps to 1.2Nm (18in-lbs).
