CI100050 APR C8 RS6 RS7 Carbon Fiber Intake
Notes:
These instructions were written for a European specification C8 RS6, but other
models like the RS7 are similar.
When disassembling the car, be sure to keep all fasteners so they can be
reused. It is recommend that you get some kind of compartmented tray to
organize the fasteners, such as a fishing tackle box or several large ice cube
trays. Fasteners that are not reused for reinstallation are noted in the
instructions. All directions used in this manual (right, left, front, etc.)
are based on if you were sitting in the drivers seat of the car.
These instructions assume that you have basic mechanical skills and several
varieties of basic hand tools in order to install the kit. If you have any
questions about the install, feel free to contact your APR representative.

Raise the hood and remove the engine cover by lifting up on all four corners of the cover.

Remove the eleven T25 screws holding the top of the OEM airbox lid.

Loosen the two 7mm hose clamps holding the accordian hoses to the cast turbo inlets.

Left and remove the OEM airbox lid with the accordian hoses attached to expose the OEM air filter.

Remove the OEM air filter and replace with the APR air filter.
If installing just the APR air filter, reinstall the OEM airbox lid with accordian hoses. Tighten the 7mm hose clamps on the cast turbo inlets to 3.4Nm (30in-lbs), and the reinstall the eleven T25 screws, tightening them to 3.5Nm (31in-lbs). Reinstall the engine cover. -
Use a 90° pick to loosen the PCV hose that is connected to the left cast turbo inlet. Work the pick around the diameter of the connection while entley pulling the hose away from the connection.

Unclip the hard vacuum lines from the top of the OEM cast turbo inlets.

Remove the six T30 screws holding the OEM cast turbo inlets to the front of the turbos. Be careful not to drop the screws while removing them. Remove the cast turbo inlets from the car.

The inlet adapter ring for the stock turbos comes installed in the APR cast turbo inlet pipes. If using different turbos, uninstall the stock dapter rings and install the adapter ring for the turbos you are using. Place the supplied gasket on the inlet pipe flange, and loosely preinstall the six T30 screws through the casting and into the gasket. The gasket should retain the screws.

Install the APR cast turbo inlet pipes onto the front of the turbochargers with the six T30 screws. Start all six fasteners by hand, and then tighten and torque them to 9Nm (80in-lbs).

Reclip the hard vacuum lines onto the tabs on the top of the APR cast turbo inlet pipes.

Install the ovalized APR inlet hoses onto the back side of the APR carbon fiber airbox cover. The flat side of the inlet hoses goes towards the bottom of the cover, and the raised hump side goes towards the top of the cover. Make sure the inlet hoses are fully seated on the cover. It is best to install the supplied clamps with the 7mm screws on the bottom side, so they will not be visible once installed. Tighten the 7mm screws on the clamps to 1.2Nm (10.5in-lbs).

Completely unscrew the eleven T25 screws from the OEM airbox lid. Using the rubber washers, install the eleven screws onto the APR carbon fiber airbox lid.

Place the APR airbox lid assembly onto the car, aligning the APR inlet hoses onto the APR cast turbo inlet pipes.

Secure the APR airbox lid by installing the eleven T25 screws and torquing them to 1Nm (9in-lbs).

Adjust and tighten the clamps on the APR inlet hoses to the APR cast turbo inlet pipes. Torque the 7mm screws on the clamps to 7Nm(62in-lbs).

Reconnect the PCV valve to the right APR cast turbo inlet pipe by pressing it in place.

Reinstall the engine cover by pressing all four corners onto the four mounting posts.
