Product Usage Instructions

Installation

Before installing the product, please consult the Use & Care/installation instructions packed with the product for the current dimensional data. Follow the steps below:

1. Choose a suitable location on the wall for installation.
2. Ensure there is a 30-inch wide opening for the hood.
3. If your ceiling height is between 7′-7 and 10′-6, the supplied duct cover will fit. For 12′ or 14′ ceiling heights, optional high ceiling kits are available (UX12DC9SLSS/UX12DCBLTS or UX14DC9SLSS/UX14DC9BLTS).
4. Measure the installation height from the cooking surface to the lowest part of the hood. The hood must be installed a minimum of 24 inches above the cooking surface. Installing it more than 36 inches above the cooking surface is not recommended.
5. Decide whether you want to vent the hood to the outdoors or use it for recirculating operation. Parts for recirculating operation are supplied with the hood.
6. Follow the detailed installation instructions provided in the Use & Care/Installation Manual.
