SIZING

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR TORSO FOR YOUR PACK

Osprey UNLTD TM AG 32 Backpacking06

MEN’S

  • TORSO S/M 17-20″ / 43-51 cm L/XL 19-23″ / 48-58.5 cm

WOMEN’S

  • TORSO WXS/S 13-17″ / 33-43 cm WM/L 16-20″ / 40.5-51 cm

WOMEN’S-SPECIFIC FIT

  • + Shorter torso length
  • + Narrower, shorter harness with curves designed to accommodate most women’s necks, shoulders and chests
  • + A hipbelt designed to wrap naturally around the curves of a woman’s hips, offering better load stabilization and support

PACK FIT INSTRUCTIONS

  1. POSITION THE PACK
Co mpletely loosen the pack’s hipbelt, harness and load-lifter straps (if applicable). Load the pack with 10-20 lb/4-9 kg of gear. Put the pack on and make sure the hipbelt is centered and rests over the hipbone. The hipbelt padding should sit halfway above/below the hipbone.

  2. BUCKLE HIPBELT
Bu ckle and tighten the hipbelt evenly using Osprey’s cross-body ErgoPull. The padding of the hipbelt should wrap around the hips with approximately 1-3 in/2.5-6 cm of webbing between the buckle and the hipbelt when tightened.

  3. HIPBELT ADJUSTMENT
If t he hipbelt is too large and “tops out” or does not offer the preferred amount of coverage, the customer may need a different pack size, model or adjustment.

  4. TIGHTEN SHOULDER STRAP
Ti ghten the shoulder harness straps by pulling them down and back.

  5. TIGHTEN LOAD LIFTERS (IF APPLICABLE)
Ti ghtening the load lifters will pull the pack close to the body and help stabilize the load. If the torso length on the pack is adjusted correctly, the load lifters will sit between a 30- to 60-degree angle and align naturally with the shoulder straps.
    SIZING/FIT DISCLAIMER
Pack depicted in images may not be the pack represented in this owner’s manual.

  6. CHECK TORSO LENGTH
Lo cate the harness yoke – this is where the harness straps come together near the base of the user’s neck. Locate the C7 vertebra – the large protruding bone at the base of the neck. The yoke should be 1 in/2.5 cm – 2 in/5 cm below the C7 vertebra.

  7. TORSO LENGTH ADJUSTMENT
For steps on adjusting the torso length to the correct size, see page 6.

  8. CHECK HARNESS FIT
Th e harness straps should wrap fully around the shoulders with no gaps between the pack and back. The padded part of the shoulder straps should end at 2 in/5 cm or more below the armpits without topping out.

  9. HARNESS/SHOULDER STRAP ADJUSTMENT
If t he harness is too small or large, but the torso length of the pack is correct, the customer may need a different pack size, model or adjustment.

  10. BUCKLE THE  STRAP
Th e sternum strap should be adjusted to approximately 2 in/5 cm below the collarbone.

TORSO LENGTH ADJUSTMENT STEPS – AIRSPEED

  1. dentify the two injection-molded adjustment ladders, which are located at the top corners of the tensioned mesh backpanel.

  2. Each adjustment ladder should have four cutouts. The pack harness will pass through one of these cutouts on each ladder, ending in a plastic harness toggle, which sets the torso length.

  3. To set the torso length to a different option, reach behind the adjustment ladder on both sides and lever the harness toggles until they are fully extended and straight, allowing them to pass through the ladder cutout. Once done on both sides, the harness should be free to slide up and down the LightWire frame.

  4. Slide the harness up or down along the LightWire frame to the appropriate torso length and re-insert the plastic harness toggles, curved side first, fully into the matching ladder cutout on both sides.

  5. Fully inserted, make sure the plastic harness toggle has been securely captured by the adjustment ladder and, under tension, is pulled up flat behind the backpanel. This ensures the toggle won’t come out under weight and your torso adjustment is set.
